I especially liked: - Diagonal boomerang action without moving. You make it look like a homing weapon - All these close situations (Thieves Town, Scull Woods, Ice Palace) - finally skipped Blue Mail and Mirror Shield and as a bonus Red Mail too - Cool stuff with the hookshot all over the game - Ganons Tower as a whole. Every other room a new idea.
Question: You seem to have a plan for every bomb in the game. In Zoras domain you take the time to kill 2 enemies for 2 bombs. I watched when you need those exactly and found that you never need the second one until the skeleton knights in Ice Palace where you could have grapped a bomb much faster.
IIRC High quality is 60 fps, but since Divx unencodes on the fly if you don't have a somewhat fast computer it won't really work. The other qualities are 20 fps (to avoid the invisible blinking junk at 30 fps).

Only with Nate's captures. TSA's are all 30 fps. (29.97)
Firstly, I want to get this out of the way: TSA, you're a great Zelda player, on all The Legend of Zelda games. Though I really have to say that most of the run didn't impress me at all. Small minor things and man-made mistakes mostly.
- You used my Ganon's Tower line, I was impressed. The smoothest part of the run in my opinion. You even dashed into the torch(the room with 4 torches, 2 sparks and breaking floors) to avoid the incoming torch which I failed to do in my demo.
Hookshot in the huge pit room with no light in Turtle Rock. You lose time using the Hookshot(approx 4-5 seconds) yet you only lose 2 hearts. Bad move.
Your Argus fight seemed more than just 18 seconds, much more. I could definitely defeat Argus more quickly than what was in your run. But it really is part luck in most boss fights.
Very slow Helmasaur King fight, Viterous fight and the Lanmolas fight went way longer than it should. Waaaaaaay longer. Should have stuck with the sword on the Lanmolas.
Very good Agahnim, Agahnim II and Ganon fight, I loved them both.
Mothula is a random boss, I won't say much on that. Nice dodging by the way.
Your movement isn't that great. You dodge well and all but small bits like dashing after getting the Big Key in Palace of Darkness, it really just puts me off.
You have the skill TSA, but you don't use it. There is a lot more I want to say but I'd just leave it at that.
After seeing you do a sub 1:40 run, I feel that it really is possible to get a sub 1:38 done. Luck may not be on whoever-it-may-be's side on Agahnim fights though.
Congratulations though for re-claiming the title and getting your goal of sub 1:40.
Never thought to pick up and throw those bushes outside link's house. It looks like a shorter route but I'll need ti check if it's actually faster or not.
I've gone back to the pot strategy for the chain guy, much less risk. Though this is coming from the guy who once forgot to pick up Zelda (and has recorded evidence to prove it ;)).
Stick to the left in the cross shaped room in the basement, the bat rarely gets in your way if you go left.
I like the stunning the statue method, beats my "walk into it and get hurt" approach.
Nicely fast skeleton room in Eatern Palace, I need to work on that room quite badly! And very nice with collecting the Big Key.
Armos Knights are good, very similar to mine. I doubt anyone will pull of Darren's time attack strategy for a while, as it's a lot of practise for a small time improvement.
It's possible to pick up 25 arrows in the Desert Palace with almost no diversion from your path, all of them in the first section before then gloves. Gives you more chance to nail the llanmolas while still saving 8 for the Castle Tower. Nice llanmolas fight, I've had enough experience of how wrong that fight can go, with or without the bow.
Tile room was impressive, you're much better at showing off than I am. I get scared...
Why not run along the bottom of the 2nd room on floor 3? It saves a couple of seconds.
Whoa! Near miss on Fibonachi...I mean Moldorm! But quick killing anyway ;D.
Just did a direct comparison with my run and your forest route is about 4-5 seconds slower than mine. That route is only faster if you come from Sanctuary.
Nice killing of the red soldiers in the castle tower!
O_o! *wets pants at sight of perfect Agahnim fight* I would have paid cold, hard cash to get that on my run!
Why no pegasusing in the floor-collapse room in the palace of darkness? If you have sword beams you can kill the helmasaur in one hit, even to the head.
I like your bomb use in the palace of darkness, very efficient and quick.
I don't actually know what to think about the Helmasaur King fight, I think I'll stick to using the hammer.
I'll watch the rest later, but currently I need the toilet and have a craving for another episode of 24. Great work, well done!
On the 3F of the Tower of Hera - dash bounce over the last hole blocking your way was my original idea after the run, but I guess you can just dash all the way across.
Yeah, I didn't really like...pay attention to points where Darren Save/Quit...that hurt me a bit here and there...hence my odd Lost Woods route.
Flute collection was interesting, I'll have to do a frame count to see how much faster/slower it is to stay in the light world.
Shit, low hearts moment in Thieves Town! If that were me I'd probably fail the run as I don't fare well under pressure. Good Blind fight too. *skips maiden speech*
You take a longer route than you need to in Skull Woods. When going for the big chest just go right into the skull door and appear in the chest room, rather than falling through the grass pit.
Nearly a nightmare in the torch room, good thing you had just enough magic!
!!!! If it wasn't for the fact that we already know you complete the run I'd have expected you to die on Mothula. Most exciting bit of the run so far.
I'm getting the feeling that picking up the bomb chest early on and just using the hammer on Helmasaur King would have been faster, as you seem to spend relatively much time killing enemies and going out of the way for extra bombs.
The lack of comments for Swamp Palace is because there's nothing there very different from my run, but it's very smooth.
Your Arrghus strategy is virtually identical to mine, and I cannot see any realistic way of pulling it off any faster. Nice fight.
I see exactly what you mean by getting a slower key, I'd say it was nearer to 15 seconds slower. Look on the brightside: I didn't know about the Big Bomb shortcut in my run, everyone makes mistakes.
Keep the cane of somaria equipped while in the basement and do what Darren does with the blue switch, it's quicker than toggling items and walking further in the switch room.
I like the wall banging over those enemies. I reckon the spinning blade kill for Vitreous is only better if you're reeeally accurate (ie. emulators) or if you have the magic cape (100% runs). I think I'll stick to the stand in the middle of the room and slash like crazy (and have a 50-50 chance of dieing).
That's enough for now, I'll watch the rest tomorrow, but I need some sleep now.

Think of why I would do that...there was a reason...and it's a blue, round one.
I can't pull the Cane of Somaria trick in the basement of Misery Mire trick off for some reason. The block always breaks off and pre-fires.
You can get mad quick times on Vitreous if you get lucky...that was probably my 2nd worst fight on him ever.
"Think of why I would do that...there was a reason...and it's a blue, round one."
At first I thought you meant a blue switch, which made no sense, then I realised you meant bombs. Bombs are never an issue for me by then, I leave the Palace of Darkness with 9 and only sometimes run out on Ice Palace or Ganon's Tower if I get very unlucky with the drops.
For the cane of somaria trick you need to place the block a few tiles below the moving spikey thing, otherwise it shatters as it moves off the top of the screen.
I watched half of it so far, and so far so good. I just have one question. I downloaded the normal quality version, and sometimes Link disappears and you can only see his shadow. Was that the game, or the quality of the video?
