Sometimes they attack, sometimes did not, I did not do anything especial, most likely it is a depend of disembarkation place.

I watched my successful attempt again (its at 1:17:30 in the vod) and it seems like the trick is somehow getting lucky with how the book blocks the enemy units and the fact that I manually attack the building once the hp of my army gets critical. Furthermore, it seems like its a good idea to time it so that all 3 buildings die at the same time... I dunno :S

How much fast your "Theramore City" final mission ? Grand Admiral Proudmoore himself and his guards are so strong... Angry

it's as fast as something that's not very fast at all.

pulling the group apart might be possible. i dunno. stronger heroes might help. but then, how much stronger?

the shaman claws in mission one might help. you also get an item that speeds up units, sacred relic; always good in a speed run.

killing all the quillboars gives an extra skill point. and some items at that, but it's an awful long time to be grinding.

i think bladebone armor is the best of the 3 quest rewards given. 1 defense aura and 7 armor.

there a crown of kings (+5 all stats), a +2 int tome, and/or a +6 strength belt that can be gotten during or just after kill the human camp, before the troll islands. one hero is dying and talking to thrall, and then walking to the islands exit. the other has rexxar to possibly get items.

there are three experience tomes and one level up tome. i wonder if these would best be distributed evenly or not.

killmaim (+20 atk dmg, life stealing) is attractive and right in the way, on the troll islands. probably tough to kill for.

on the second map, a medallion of courage (+4 int, str) can be gotten by either killing the human or having nearby centaurs kill him (use misha as bait, or cairne)

wand of the wind is on the way; crowd control on one mob for 20 seconds.

spell immunity and masks of death are the uber-items in this campaign, but probably out of our budget. there's a bunch of gold, maybe 1000, in the upper left corner of the second mission's main map. gold carries between missions 2 to 3 but not 1 to 2.

there's also gold on bling ring island in mission 3, along with the bling ring. which gives 25 gold every 10 seconds you're willing to click on it :/

I try to reformulate: How many minutes (your best, with saves) to complete Proudmoore-killing final quest (Orc-03b)? What is the time ..12..10...8...6...?
I need to know your roughly time for comparison with it. If my solution is slower - it useless and i can't help in no way. But if my is faster - i can record it.

12 minutes would be incredibly quick to me.

so the point is, in segment 1 there's already a choice of which quest to go to first. upon coming back out of the cave, the plan will be to have one hero be at low hit points. this hero will get killed by the other, which will get them back to town quicker. and then either they'll exit town to the next area, or the other hero will, and in either case the other will turn the quest in.

also in segment 1, a little creeping doesn't hurt.

Possible improvements:
-Use the infinite trolls glitch.
-If in advance to prepare "dispell wand *2" to opposition against water elementals - there is a chance to kill him without dying-shopping break.

that's so cool, i'm humbled.

i don't remember being able to use the infinite trolls glitch easily. or at least, not more than 2 extra trolls.

i wonder if the spell mastery glove (that takes over elementals) doesn't have a similar glitch.

i forget if a specific version is needed, if a patch ever 'fixed' that glitch.

Short session today. A weird bug happend which I have never seen before. The AI (whether or not the gnoll purges as I approach it) behaves differently depending on if I start a new game or load a saved game. Even if I save the game from right at the beginning and then reload that save - the AI will behave differently. Very strange...

Other than that I would say im making progress on this level. Im gonna go with the dispell wand i think.

I think 5:40 is possible.

Yes, I havnt forgot about that.

My plan was to do that as the very last chapter. Even though it might seem like its straight forward to do, it will still take some experimentation in order to figure out exactly when to build what and stuff like that.

It might be worth trying if using the greater mana potion makes it easier. I think in such hard levels you have to make use of all your resources.

Not the most good idea. Mana potion is necessary for 5 chapter.

Pretty good session today. Managed to complete the level several times (using save games) with the best time so far at 5:00.
I also aaaaalmost managed to do a succesful attempt in one go. Looking promising.

It seems like im ready to start recording the level. Now it might seem tempting to go for sub 5 mins, but lets see once I have tried a good deal of times.

Im a little in doubt whether or not I should stream today or if I should rather spend the time recording actual attempts...

If I were to stream, it would be practice attempts of chapter 3 anyways. There is no harm in practicing the level even though I might regret not recording, should I actually complete in a decent time.

Any suggestions?

I would like to be sure if the positioning of the elven army is influenced by the fact that you saved and loaded the game (like the gnoll bug). I'm just curious because you became lucky three times in a row after you loaded. Might also be a concidence ofc.
