Zelda Rulez!
I have one wish to you guys Roll Eyes
Because I read this thread and I want avoid spoilers. So can if you guys have something big things to tell like temple names or something. could you write it have spoilers like in last page.

Or should I stop reading this topic until december 15?
well mwl did post a spoiler warning and really speedrun discussions arent the best place the avoid spoilers... i guess dont read till december 15th =p your not gonna miss much anyways, if you don't have the game you can't contribute and you can't understand what their talking about (for routes & such) if you don't have the game
I'm not THAT bad.

Does anyone know what the damage output of the spin attack is? Does it have the same damage as a normal slash/stab or does it equal a jump attack?

I did a test on a tektite and

4 slashes=one spin attack= Jumpslash

Could be more though.

A good strategy would maybe be

Jumpslash quickspin, jumpslash normal slash quickspin jumpslash?

My experience with moblins tells me that a jumpslash is more powerful than a spin attack.  Spin attacks actually seem fairly weak compared to their power in, say, lttp.
I'm not THAT bad.
In that case...

Jumpslash>Spin attack>slash

I know for a fact that spin attacks are aT LEAST 4X as much as a  normal slash.

heh jumpslash and quickspin and jumping quickspin into quickspin are all I use. double jumpslashes for babas though.

Arrows are more powerful than any slash.

I am starting to really detest the controls in this game. No, not the remote--that works very well. Just the Wind Waker-esque inability to move fluidly like in OoT... I'm sure you all know what I mean.

I know exactly what you mean. Link has the same "stiff" movements in this as he did in WW. I'm always gonna miss the perfect control of OoT.

WOW! I  just found a possibly huge trick in the Lakebed Temple!

Do Fierce's stair trick and you can skip getting the second water rise thing after the boss key.

Can someone say how much time it saves, at all?

I think that was the original idea behind it. Not sure how much time it would save, I spent as little time as possible in that temple.

I finally bothered to actually beat the game today Grin loved the ending and boss fight. It was nice to actually have some decent ending sequences in a Zelda game (never really liked em till now). Guess I should stop talking bout it.

Quits halfway
[Edited out because I'm retarded at thinking] However, the charged jumpslash (forget which hidden skill it is) is far and away the most powerful of the sword slashes. I think the spin is stronger than the jumpslash though.

For the first parts of the game though, Jumpslash, spin attack, double jumpslash, spin attack, etc. is the best way to use the sword for damage because the spin attack "recharges" right as Link is coming down from the second jumpslash.
Yes, a cucco riding the ground.

I found that too, but unfortunately, I think you would need to get the Boss Key, which means that you're really close to getting the water in there anyway unless there is some faster way to get the Boss Key. I'll have to test when I go through the game again.

I didn't know how to raise the water, so I didn't know how much time it saved.

Tongue I used that because I was stuck.  Cheesy

Cannon Bug:

Bridge of Edlin Bug:

Awesome guys, i'm pumped to see TP discussion already! I don't have a wii yet so i'm a bit behind...but I hope to be more involved with TP speedrunning and glitch hunting than I was able to be for OOT.

Well the answer to those glitches is simple: just don't save in those areas. Unfortunately for the people that already did, it looks like they're screwed. It's hard to believe after 2 years of development, ugly glitches like this still exist. A question about the bridge one, would you be able to warp past it? I have not played the game yet so this is probably a stupid question.
I'm not THAT bad.
Nope, you can only warp as wolf link.

And in some places there is people around.

Try glitching through the gate to Lanayru on the Bridge bug, and try going into first person mode on the Cannon one and press A while in First Person mode near Shad.

Yeah,  the first wii connect 24 patch.  Hopefully this glitch won't be in the Gamecube version. Tongue
Stand: Devil's Call in your Heart
at least they'll be able to fix the next shipment. GC version can be fixed if it isn't printed yet... or they could delay it more...

Doubt GCN version will be fixed.  But yeah, there will be version 1.1...this is just like OoT now.
I'm not THAT bad.
Good I have 1.0 Cheesy
So they fixed it? If so how?
