That was an absolutely amazing PoA!
By the way Giganotabehemoth, you mentioned 3 ex. shells near the first prisoner but did you remember or notice the other 3 ex. shells near the last prisoner?  They're hidden behind a bush right up against the wall next to the arch that the ground floor patrolling green dinosoid passes under when he first appears.  It's right at the spot where the two parts of the wall join together.
Ahh yes I just forgot to mention those. I do indeed pick them up in my run. I kill the purlin just round the corner with them though, but I've still gained one or two shells from the pickup.
Alright then, also now that I think about it before the triceratops ride ends there's a bridge you lower with a green dinosoid in front of it- To the right side just before you start crossing the bridge there's an ex. shell pickup on the ground.
Nice ! I didn't know about that one. Looks like I'll be well and truly maxed out easily with them now. Like a walking dynamite Cheesy
Good to hear, please do mention if you find yourself needing specific ammo in one of the later levels- I always know either a place to pick it up or a more common ammo type to exchange for it ^u^
I will do, thanks for the helping hand thumbsup

Well I just did death marshes test/segment planner. And it looks like i'm gonna have less saves that POA. Man this level is so straight forward in comparison and takes almost exactly the same time to complete. It only gets a bit tricky in the swamp area with the satchel charge as I need to do lots of swamp jumping. But one of my segments starts in that area anyway so that's cool. I can't wait to get this one done and show all my strategies !

Later on I'm going to plan river of souls. From now on this is where the game gets proper hard Tongue
Well there's some really shitty news regarding this run. The Hardrive on my friends computer which stored the save files of my Turok 2 run failed on him today. So I've lost my progress of the run >:(. I still have the recordings, but one without the other it's pretty much useless. He tried a data recovery but that didn't work. We thought of a way of returning to the my last point with the same health, weapons and time on the clock but that would be cheating. So I have no choice but to start the run again. I apologize for this, as you can imagine it's pissed me off to no end. I will get it done next weekend and maybe even beat my run by a few seconds. I'll try and also get stuck into death marshes. So in the very, very best case scenario I'll have two runs to show you next weekend.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck !!!
we have lift off
If there's a way of replicating the save and all the stats are identical then I don't see why that would be a problem. You have the video to prove the stats so it's not cheating. Obviously as long as it doesn't affect the rest of the run.
Sandbagging
Thats very true. If you have the encodes and/or original recordings all you need to do is to replicate your old stats.
Don't make yourself go through so much trouble for nothing.
If that's ok then that does surprise me. I would have been certain this would be seen as cheating. I'd have to let someone in charge now about this.

Sandbagging
Why would that be cheating if its a segmented run?
Really not sure what you're getting at ^^

just having to go through the level again on a different play-through to my recordings. Possibly with a cheat like invincibility to make it less problematic. But I know what your saying

Not to mention the stat replication will be annoying. The ammo not too bad, I think I've got full ammo for everything apart from just having 3 explosive shells. But health replication could be annoying, since the totem is random as hell.
yeah sorry guys i have no idea what happened to the hard drive and it took me 5 hours to get my pc up and into running state so it should be all ready for him next week.
I'm sorry that happened to you guys, and I wish you both the best of luck against any future equipment troubles.
Thanks for the support Squeebles. iceydamo has transferred the game onto another hardrive which should be safer than the one it was on (touch wood). I just got confirmation from mike that doing this stat replication thing will be ok, although replicating speed will be difficult, and he's right. The really hard part would be replicating stats as I go along at a fast pace. There's tokens and health to worry about. So I need to watch my run on you-tube to see exactly what tokens I picked up. I need to get hit along the way so it matches my last recording health, turn on invincibility to keep it there and away we go:P.
we have lift off
It may be best to just redo it, depending on the difficulty. Keeping stats consistent is no fun Sad

Also be sure to back-up all the raw files, just in case.
Well I may as well do this now I know that I can. It won't be a very pleasant experience for sure but probably better than doing another run of this level.
Sorry to hear your loss ! PoA was very good.
Well Stat replication is done so the game is back on track. I got to the save before the totem 6 seconds behind my recording. So in order to get back on time I used big head mode for the totem to pick the dinosoids out at long range with easy headshots. So the totem was better than the one you see in the vid but I'm back to my time at the start of the death marshes to the second almost. All tokens, health and ammo are identical. You'll notice that the save screen states I have 83 health when the gameplay shot shows I have 84. That's because the game does health with invisible decimals, hence why some damage in the game doesn't actually drop Turoks health until a second or third hit is taken, usually from small comys. The save data screen for some reason simply shows the lowest full figure.

Death Marshes, here we come !
I'm delighted to hear that things are getting back on track ^U^  Have fun!
You didn't have to go through the time manipulating since I believe this run will be timed manually anyway, because the game doesn't show the total time at the end.

And for future record, keep your saves archived on several places Smiley There have been too many runs lost already, because the runners were not careful enough.

Good luck with the rest of the run.
I thought that the end time was after watching the credits roll and then you gain control of Turok back at the hub and then you save it and check your time in the save slot. If it's timed manually, that would mean that all my pause screens will get added up as well Sad

I'll talk to iceydamo when he gets back about storing the saves in a few places.

If the timer is displayed at the end and there's nothing faulty with it (any inconsistency with the timer) then the in-game timer should be used.
I agree : and It's also how marshmallows run was timed if I recall or am I mistaken ?. anyway...

Yay. I did this within 4 hours :P; Got most segments done very quickly. The swamp jumping segment gave me grief for about 15 minutes. Turok seemed to enjoy taking a bath in the stuff way too much. The last segment before the totem was the worst one though. The bit with the raptors and the keys is so annoying. The raptors don't become vulnerable until the gate has opened quite some way, and it's pretty hard to tell when to shoot. But if you play it safe and leave the gate to open too long, the raptors come running out and are hard to shoot. So you have to cut it fine if you want a good segment. Having said that I got lucky in this segment as I managed to get two raptors while they were moving from a distance. The left juggernaut afterward refused to go down in 1 shot. So overall this segment could have been a couple seconds faster, but honestly to actually do that would be very hard and extremely lucky. I settled on this one which was my best. Got a nice Totem battle. Actually very easy this trick if you stand in that exact spot. Enjoy !
