Damn nice Canibalk9. I updated the first post in this thread.
Might want to update it with the correct spelling. 'Finished' has only one n''. Not an attack at you or anything, I know English is not your first language. Just looks bad as its all caps in the topic title.
Anyway great run CannibalK9. Great watch, and even more so, a great listen.
Also, the commentary really worked well. When watching a run, there's lots of times you don't know why something is happening or the thinking behind it. This run had none of that. The explanations and descriptions of how things were found, and how they were exploited to allow better times just makes this run all the better.
Thankye, there really wasn't anything I thought of that I didn't cover to some extent, maybe some things that have become second nature but I bet any other runner would have the same problem. Hopefully those ridiculously subtle things that take ages to do for the sake of a few seconds and some aesthetic value came across okay.

If I could offer one suggestion for a project before the next run. How about deluxe reissues of the previous runs, with commentary?
I know I'd watch again for that.
Ooo, I really hope there isn't anyone here who'd be prepared to listen to me trying to talk my way through 45 minutues of paramedic mission and repetitions of "and then i got that package... er... because it was there".
Not least is that I wouldn't have a clue what I was doing half the time. Any future projects will definitely feature it, it just makes the 'speedrun experience' more complete.

As for speedrun, GTA4 comes out soon, but only on consoles. Probably a year and a half till the PC port hits.
That's a shame, at least they'll be lots of material to research by then. I still don't consider myself a particularly big GTA player but that's definitely a delusion by now.

You could always do GTA3, and GTA Vice City runs. Not 100%, just a normal run to beat the current records. With your knowledge of the game I'm sure you could beat them.
I don't really want to touch the GTA3 run, I have a lot of respect for it as it helped with mine hugely, and there's some stuff in there I doubt I could do as well anyway.
I was carefully considering single-segment runs, right now I'm interested/curious so we'll see how I feel in a few days because I'm away for a bit. Certain parts will be horrible but I'll at least have a play with it.
only checking this forum like once a month these days and if id watch something it would be your segments, they were very entertaining to watch even though sa aint my bag :p
the commentary really adds so much, i should have done it too for my gta3 run. maybe someday ill get my rerun finished which is about 50% done but im having pc probs, it should be about 5-10mins faster though with most of the missions improved and more dodo usage
congrats on the run and i hope to meet you here again when the time comes to tear gta4 apart

Oops, sorry. Im swedish + 12 years old only so... yeah, english mistakes. But I fixed it now.
Sorry CaNNibalK9 for typing your name wrong.
Anyway, back to GTA. I have been thinking of doing an Single Segment GTA SA run. I now a way of doing the encoding work (play & record, when needed pause the game, show the stats>misc to prove, stop recording, go to windows (DO NOT CLOSE THE GAME), encode the output video, remove output video, back to game record stats>misc to prove nothing has been done, play). I can do it like tommorow or sumthing, or well atleast practice. It should be possible.
Yeah, I could do it. Cause I got a new 160 GB harddrive so now I dont have to encode during the run I think. But yeah, If I get the wanting of doing it. I would do it. Currently im not in a mood.
Very good run, the commentary was interesting as well and showed how much thought was put into it. The tolerance for error seemed ridiculously low as well, which must have been frustrating for a run so long.
I'm open to suggestions; I can't think of anything in a similar vein that has the same speedrunning potential. I only play PC games now and I've played very little so I'm a bit clueless, not to mention I'm too busy to do anything for a month or so.
Throw something at me and I'll look it up and give my thoughts, it certainly feels odd not having something to run.
Thanks again everyone, especially those watching it twice, yay commitment!
CannibalK9, I spent a good part of yesterday and then this morning watching your entire GTA:SA speedrun with the commentary. I was very impressed, and the commentary was very entertaining...much more entertaining than the speedrun would have been on its own.
I think there are quite a few interesting games that still have no speedrun on this site. Drakan is a similar game if you think about it. Its a third person game with an open world where you get a ride (albeit on a dragon) to get to places faster or provide strategic advantage. A Homeworld speedrun would also be fascinating.
SA 100% can be a fun thing for you to post on like Filefront or similar. You can try to beat hitmans bounty. Omg, Cannibalk, this SA any% OWNZ. love the commentary too.
