Very, very nice segments. I too liked the part where you tricked the planes into going all accidental-kamikaze into the bridge ;D. What's your goal for the final time now, sub-6 hrs, sub-6.5? Good luck with the madly random territories!

Segs 25 and 26 have been brutally dragged into existence, looks like sub-6 is a bit out of reach but it'll be fun to see how close I can get. It's monotonous but enjoy anyway dammit! (smiley...? :))

The lock-on rate is in the pc version too if you're using a controller; then it acts like the console versions. The other gang is called the Vaggos (or something spelt like that).

I dunno man, to get sub-6 hrs you've still got 7 minutes to work with, which is an eternity in speedrunning terms. I haven't played the last mission in years, so can't really recall how long it takes, but unless it has a bunch of those irritating unskippable cutscenes I'll still hold out some hope (albeit perhaps misplaced hope since I can't remember at all how long the final mission is ::)) for coming in under six ;D.

The lock-on's useful, but it's probably faster the way CannibalK9's doing it, with the headshots. Lock-on doesn't do headshots unless they're really close (about 5-7 feet away.) So the headshots without the lock-on are probably faster. Smiley

As for the "under 6 hours," I don't think it would happen, unless there's some major glitch or shortcut found quickly. There are still 2 territories to take over, plus the final mission, which has a shooting part from the back of the car that can't be shortened.

One question though:
Do all territories count the same? (Ie. the same percentage?) Because if the bigger territories count as more than the smaller ones, maybe it could be done in one territory. (Or maybe the sub-6-hours could be reached by taking over the larger territories.) But I think they all count the same, regardless of the size. But it's a possibility.

I've looked at a few sources and the in-game results from taking territories match up... just over 35% with 19 taken.

The last two take about 6 minutes anyway, and the last mission is something crazy (practice run ended at 6:20ish, but I think credits are included). I don't think I can improve that by much. I might have to cop-out and make it its own segment since there's a place where I can either get through quite happily with half a health bar left or I die before I even see the exit door.

Most parts are covered though, it's an annoying mission to practice but I want it to go well.

Ah, I forgot about that irritatingly long chase at the end of the last mission. Oh well, as it is you'll still be improving the current run by about 1:30, which isn't too shabby by anyone's standards ;D.

This last segment is destroying me, I AM going to do it in just one segment. Well I'm busy at the moment so it's fine if it takes a while, can't really focus but it's not really to do with the mission itself. Positive!

The last two (it was supposed to be one... meh) segments are up! I forgot to mention mike so I'll do so here and hope it's okay. Everyone who's supported me throughout I'm very thankful for too!

I really don't know what I'm going to do next speedrun-wise but I'll find something eventually I'm sure.

Now to catch up on neglected sleep.

Congratulations.

Great run and very good time. I'd like to thank for audio commentary as I've done these missions countless of times and was still able to learn tons of new stuff about various issues.

Hopefully GTA4 will be speedrun worthy Wink

This is one of the more polished runs I've seen (it's incredible that you did the gang wars so fast,) and it's incredible that you've found so many shortcuts and tricks in one run. Tongue

The shortcut in "Cut Throat Business" is one of my favorites. Grin

Also, the audio commentary was great. Smiley

I am glad that you've finally got it finished. It was fun working together finding shortcuts in missions. Then you just got to good and I was not any help anymore, JK.

Nope, and PC runs take ages to time so it could be set back quite a bit (like my Vice City run, which I'm not bitter about by the way!)

Umm... there's plenty to do before it gets up and there's no way of knowing how long any of it will take so don't set your watch by it.

Also, the commentary really worked well. When watching a run, there's lots of times you don't know why something is happening or the thinking behind it. This run had none of that. The explanations and descriptions of how things were found, and how they were exploited to allow better times just makes this run all the better.

You could always do GTA3, and GTA Vice City runs. Not 100%, just a normal run to beat the current records. With your knowledge of the game I'm sure you could beat them.
