Woah, just finished another 70(1) Star run using the route on this thread that I created (And some people edited it with me)
I got a 4:17:19, which cuts my last time by about 35 minutes or so. For some reason, I think that if you mess up, and reset, it still counts the time.
I think this because I messed up at Sky Station Galaxy and restarted, and I wouldn't think that it counted that time so I clicked on the same file and did the run. I started at 9:53pm and ended at about 1:58pm, which should have been 4:05. That was a dumb idea of me, so I know that sub 4 hours is possible, because
1. I restarted and didn't start a new file, so it might have counted the time 2. I died 3-4 times (Not very big time consuming deaths, though) 3. The route can still be fixed a bit, I think.
4:17 is still really good though, anyways.
I will do some individual level runs tomorrow, I guess. I need to work on my Diddy Kong Racing run as well though.
Let me see if I can get my full route here. Editing my other post is getting annoying because something buggy is happening with the scroller.
SEGMENT 1 1. Peewee Piranha's Temper Tantrum (Comet Medal) SEGMENT 2 2. Saddle up with Yoshi 3. Spiny Control 4. Whatever the second star in Sky Station Galaxy is called (Don't tell me please!!!) SEGMENT 3 5. Digga-Leg's Planet (Comet Medal) 6. Think Before You Shake 7. Silver Stars Down Deep 8. Search for the Toad Briadge Captian Still happening. Still can't get full route. The same bug is happening. Going to have to speak to the creator of this site about this...

It sounds like a problem on your end. And until your route is complete and tested, chances are that no one will be interested.
It's something wrong with the scroller when I'm in the middle of posting the route. It's annoying. EDIT::: Thank you, RingRush! I'm going to show these segments only, as I'm still planning on the other segments. SEGMENT 1 1. Sky Station: Peewee Piranha's Temper Tantrum (Comet Medal) SEGMENT 2 2. Yoshi Star: Saddle up with Yoshi 3. Yoshi Star: Spiny Control 4. Sky Station: Storming the Sky Fleet SEGMENT 3 5. Spin-Dig: Digga-Leg's Planet (Comet Medal) 6. Flip-Swap: Think before you Shake (Comet Medal) 7. Spin-Dig: Silver Stars down Deep 8. Fluffy Bluff: Search for the Toad Brigade Captain 9. Rightside Down: Breaking the Laws of Gravity (Comet Medal) 10. Rightside Down: The Great Crate Incinerator 11. Bowser Jr.'s Fiery Fotilla: Gobblegut's Aching Belly (Comet Medal) SEGMENT 4 12. Puzzle Plank: The Puzzling Picture Block (Comet Medal) 13. Hightail Falls: Hot-Stepping Dash Depper 14. Boulder Bowl: Rock and Rollodillo Got enough for now. Quick EDit was the best thing to do.
So, does anybody know if 2P times are saved over 1P times? P2 is actually useful in this game with its ability to collect purple coins. If we do a collaborative IL table, are we going to be using 2P or not (it may also save time in other levels by stunning and enemies and such).
Furthermore, can we get a ruling on using the star bit bank as a "New Game +"? I think it should be allowed...so segmented and ss would withdraw ~7000 SBs as soon as possible (or however many it takes to feed the lumas that will be used...probably would want to withdraw a bit less and fill up the remainder through collecting them in levels). For a NG+ 100% segged run, it would be best to withdraw all the SBs you'll need at the start of the game, and then on another file refill the bank to 9999 for the Grandmaster comet. For NG+ 100% SS, it would be best just to start with 9999 SBs in the bank and never withdraw them.
Found a small shortcut in Chompworks that may even be useful elsewhere. After doing a double or triple jump, you can land on a slope and walk on it for a short amount of time (You can usually not walk on slopes)
Spring into the Chompworks - 57.36 (Using the strat)
Turning Turning Double Time - possible yoshi route I have no idea if this saves any time, especially if you can long jump the entire time without falling.
edit: Flip-Swap "superbounce" glitch. From 0:32 in the video onward. This level can probably be beaten faster now.
2 levels using the momentum tricks on Flip-Swap. Both were done in under 15 minutes, so they can be improved, but I wanted to get some ideas out there as of now.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Flip-Swap Green Star 2 - 23.41
Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Flip-Swap Galaxy - Green Star 1 - 8.20
So, quick question. With the Yoshi Infinite Flutter, would it be possible to keep Yoshi all the way to the end of Grandmaster Galaxy? And, if so, is anyone bold enough to do it?
