So, quick question. With the Yoshi Infinite Flutter, would it be possible to keep Yoshi all the way to the end of Grandmaster Galaxy? And, if so, is anyone bold enough to do it?
I made a demonstration video showing off some tricks on Honeyhop Galaxy:
Not sure how much time could be saved by doing the level without the bee suit, but I feel like it should definitely be faster, if optimized, since the bee suit has such slow vertical movement (and no long jumps).
I don't think it saves time, but it is quite challenging.
I made a video on of the whole stage without even touching a bee suit.
This will be a good way to keep track of the best times for each level, as well as everyone's personal times on each star. It would be great if a few people could submit all their times, good or not, and we can work on improving them from there. We may add specific 2P charts in the future, but for now, these are 1P only (Luigi is allowed and recommended).
I've noticed that most of the tricks were discovered before the European launch. Fortunately the flutter exploit does work and I can do the height method easily but I am having difficulty with the sideways method used to cover huge distance, I don't know what is the guarnteed method to get the huge boost as some of the attempts ends up with small distances.
Other than that, I will possibly make some useful strats that seems doable in a single segment run like: (Yoshi Star galaxy Star 01 with Comet medal).
Edit: Don't worry I know what I am doing wrong when setting up the distance flutter, I have to face 135 degress away from the target and I am more likely to get the distance boost.
Saddle Up With Yoshi speed trick. Should save around 10 seconds. I'm certain this particular trick is known by now for people who have been experimenting with infinite flutter.
There's a faster way to do this that I couldn't replicate for a recording. You can infinite flutter, land on an enemy and keep the momentum going to the next planet without having to do a 2nd infinite flutter. This saves a few more seconds but is very hard imo to do.
in all the videos for jr's mighty megahammer i can find on youtube, people only hit his first two weakpoints one at a time. have you investigated the possibility of hitting both? he normally raises his hammers to block the second bullet, but when I was impatiently working on his daredevil run, I managed to do it. I didn't try very long to reproduce it, so I'm not sure how easy it is. I'm pretty the first bullet hit him while he was firing the huge bullet, which maybe changed the timing.
I got 13.95 on Beat Block Green Star 1, but I wasn't recording it at the time. I can't beat this time after awhile of trying. Here's a 14.00 recording instead.
Also, great run on Sweet Mystery ZFG. I've been trying to run this as well trying to get the final hover to the star. Always seem to fail at the end.
10 Minute video of a bunch of tricks you can do with the Infinite Flutter using Yoshi. Included, there are a couple of speed tricks, but most of the tricks are just funny ways of getting to places with Yoshi, and very interesting, as well. Please check it out!
