Everything's better with Magitek
The summer marathon will be held July 28-31 at my house which is near Salt Lake City, Utah.  This thread is to help get an idea of how many people are coming and which games will be available to put on the schedule.  I can house a max of 30 people at my house, so if there are more than 30 that want to come, we'll have to figure something out.

If you already posted in the other summer marathon topic, please also post here since this is the official sign-up.  In your post, list how likely you are to come (definitely, probably, etc.) and which games you would be able to run along with time estimates (these can be rough estimates for now).  Be aware that because this will be a smaller marathon, you might not get to run all the games you list.

Waiting hurts my soul...
Definitely coming. Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy in 2 hours or less real-time. I can bring the game and console. Also, I'll be driving, so I can easily bring my DVD recorder with HDD, and any consoles people might need.

I'm not sure how many people I can fit, but I'm willing to carpool from LA traveling through Las Vegas and up the 15. I can fit most likely 3, possibly 4, but that could change.
Highly Evolved
Well, I live 20 minutes away, so I'm in the Definitely coming.  I won't require a sleeping slot, and I can help with things if you need to, Essentia.

Games:
STARTROPICS
Tetris Attack
Losing race in Dr. Mario 64
Darkwing Duck possibly
Fucking Weeaboo
Put me on probably.  Given that I'm going to 2 conventions not long after that (August 12-14 and Sept 9-11), I know I'm asking a lot of work to take even more time off.  As for what I'd run, something like Limbo (about an hour including setup), Castlevania: Lament of Innocence (1:15 roughly), Kirby and the Amazing Mirror (50-60 minutes if I'm doing 1P any%), and/or The Sky Crawlers (about 2 hours).
I am definitely coming, I also live in Utah, so chances are high that I don't need any sort of sleeping arrangements.

I can run:
VVVVVV (max 20 min for any%, 30 min for 100%, VERY generous estimates)
... maybe something else if I practice a lot.

I can also bring a huge number of video game consoles, as well as streaming hardware (computers, capture cards, etc).
Professional Second Banana
Put me down as a maybe/probably.  I'm hoping to be able to run KH2 by the summer; but since that's almost certainly too long for a shorter marathon I'd be fine with just coming to watch and hang out if there's room.

The Speedrunning Teacher
I'm definitely coming (unless something more important arises, but that isn't very likely at this time).  As I also live in Utah, I won't need a sleeping slot (for the time being, again I gotta see what happens).

Games I can run: (time estimates are off the top of my head, so I'll revise these later)
Sonic 3D Blast - 45 mins
Decap Attack - 45 mins
And others, but these are two I'd be most interested in running.

Also, I have a DVR with HDD that I can bring, along with several systems (NES, Genesis, Dreamcast, Wii, Xbox 360).  Streaming hardware is available as well (1 computer and capture card).

waifus are laifu
Put me as a maybe. Still not sure where I'll be living come July, or even what I'll be doing but I'd really like to try to make it. I can do a run for Silhouette Mirage (takes about an hour (hour and a half if I'm unlucky and/or a bit rusty, game is timed by stopwatch), unless I do something like "donations for the harder ending path")
SDA Apprentice -- (3-1)
I'll admit that I am somewhere between interested and maybe myself...  reason being is that I don't know where I'm going to stand come July, but hopefully I might be able to do it...  Of course, if we hit the max number of people, then I'll voluntarily back off...

Copy and paste what I said last time in regards of games that can be run...
Intruding N313 and F014
I am also a maybe.  I could use part of my overall trip visiting with my family.  I would be happy sleeping in a tent.  I might play NES Metal Gear, about 40 minutes needed.  I can also bring a NES, SNES, N64, and Gamecube.

I have one question.  I have a Pomeranian (small dog) that can't be away from me (massive separation anxiety)  Is it okay if I bring him?  So many places don't allow dogs that it makes it difficult for me, and so I had been indecisive.
Everything's better with Magitek
DW: do you have time estimates for your games?

dunnius: I'll talk to Denton about the pomeranian and get back to you on that.  One thing, though, is that pomeranians tend to be yappy (or at least the two that I had growing up both were), and I'm just worried that it might bother the neighbors or other people at the marathon.  How does your dog handle being around strangers?
Highly Evolved
Oh, sorry about estimates.

Startropics:  Bad play + no glitch + added time for various reasons = 1:30
Tetris Attack: 10:00
Dr. Mario 64:  However long it takes you to beat me.
Darkwing Duck:  I don't know.  No more than 0:30, I think.

Not a walrus
It's about an 8 hour drive for me (according to google maps it's actually faster to drive north up through Wyoming and then back south, which surprises me) so it's "quite likely", and I can bring my tent, sleeping bag, and pad, so I don't really need a bed either.

I'd definitely run Blaster Master (45 minutes not including credits) and maybe a couple other short-ish games (20 minutes or so), but I'd have to think about it.
Yes, a worthless avatar riding my posts.
Still not sure what I'm doing this summer, but there's a good chance I'll be living and working at home in Regina. I think I'll be able to bus down there and do this under any circumstances.

I can bring an air mattress and pillow, so as long as there's surface area for it I won't need a bed.

I can bring consoles for the games I plan to run:
Faxanadu (30 minutes, more if I make a mistake and have to use a password) (if you need to cut my games, cut any of them but this one)
Final Fantasy Legend (90 minutes)
Super Turrican (SNES) (20 minutes)

also I want in on Dr. Mario and Tetris Attack races.

Looks like some serious Dr. Mario going on here. I can't miss out on this, can I? Put me down for probably, though I would probably end up needing to fly again.

I can run:
Dr. Mario again (45 minutes on severely awful estimate, almost definitely under 41)
Tetris Attack (I'll bump it to 15 because I missed 10 last time)
Yoshi's Story (20 minutes is my awful estimate right now)
Chameleon Twist (15 minutes)
I could do Tony Hawk 2 again but maybe we don't need to do it two in a row.
Edit: Forgot to mention, if there were a way to record DOS games here I'd love to do the first Duke Nukem game, perhaps as an homage to the upcoming Duke Nukem Forever release. I'd put the very safe estimate at 15 minutes, but if I was assured I could do this I would put some serious practice and likely take that time down a few minutes.

Sonical!
This might be a good excuse for me to visit North America once and for all. Are there interesting places to visit near Utah? If I go, I could run Sonic Advance as Sonic (~30 minutes) or Knuckles (~25 minutes), Sonic Chaos or Sonic the Hedgehog for the Master System. Since I live so far away, many things can get in the way, so put me in the maybe column.

Waiting hurts my soul...
Not being a native to Utah, I'm not aware of everything to do there, but for tourist stuff I'd say the main marathon is better for a first time visit. I'm sure there are things to do in Salt Lake City (Essentia answered below), but I don't really know of anything iconic that compares to DC.

I should probably clarify that when I say "doesn't need a bed", I really mean that person won't be staying here.  (Maybe I should reword it.)  We don't have a lot of actual beds - just a twin bed and a hide-away bed in our couch (unless you count the toddler bed and crib ;)).  We have a lot of blankets and a few foam pads and can borrow a few more, but I'll be counting on a lot of people to bring sleeping bags and stuff.

ShinerCCC: Should I put you as definitely or probably?

Zeupar: Utah has a lot of scenic things to see.  There are six national parks in Utah, and it's also not far from the Grand Canyon or Yellowstone (you can see a map of that stuff here), although all that stuff is at least a few hours' drive from where the marathon will be.  And of course, my house is just minutes away from the Great Salt Lake, although I'll admit there's not much to see there. Tongue
Put me down for definitely coming.  I live in Salt Lake so if need be I do not have to sleep at the house.  I would prefer to sleep there if there's room, but I can go home if I must.

A re-listing of games I can run:
Quake 2, Easy in 35 minutes or Hard in 40 minutes
Age of Empires 2 (age of kings):
- Whole game (age of kings campaign) in 3 hours
- Tutorial missions in ~ 25 minutes
I mentioned in the other topic for AOE2 it may be better to just choose a few interesting levels beforehand or leave it to donation which levels I do since it's a long game.  A whole-game run would get repetitive anyways.

I also got kind of a silly idea.  Would it be funny or just stupid to speedrun the home version of In The Groove (the DDR style game) at the marathon?  By "speedrun" I'm thinking pass all songs on expert as quickly as possible.  This would take ~2 hours.  For a much-shortened version, if you consider passing the hardest song in the game beating the game, I could pass pandemonium on expert in about 2 minutes.  The same thing could go for guitar hero, rock band, etc.  I do not play these but someone else who is talented can pass the hardest song to comprise a "speed run"

Wow, this actually opens up the chance for me to come. I'm near LA and just a few minutes off the 15, and I'd of course pitch in for gas/etc. to help out. We can talk about that stuff on IRC later.

I guess you can put me down as a maybe now.

Games:
-Castlevania: SotN (XBLA version preferably, 35 min if I really suck)
-Fallout 3 (XBox 360 version, 50 min with extremely bad luck on speech and computer hacking)

Those are the only games I'd really like to run, as I wouldn't want to hog the schedule. If for some reason when you're making the schedule you feel that there should be more "big" titles, here are some others I can comfortably do right now:

-Super Mario World (probably 12 minutes, put 15 for safety)
-Mega Man X (40 min, and I promise there won't be any boss menu fiasco this time :p )
-Kirby Super Star (1:10 for extreme setup time/bad play safety if I'm solo, <1 hour for co-op if JMan is in the Zenic carpool)
-Kirby & the Amazing Mirror co-op (only if Sir VG is coming, but setup time is big so it'd probably be 40 min)

Other games I can do are either too long for a mini-marathon (Assassin's Creed series, SMRPG, etc.) or aren't popular enough to bother mentioning (a ton of examples here).
Bwahahaha... there WILL be domination!
Just to actually say, I won't be coming to this, sadly, because of my nerves and scheduling conflicts.  Good luck to everyone who does go!
Waiting hurts my soul...
Aitamen, sorry you can't come. I hope you'll be able to contribute some perlers again though since those were such a big hit at the last one.
Not a walrus
I might be bringing a friend with me, he wanted to come to the Maryland marathon but he wasn't able to because it would have been too costly. So put me down for another slot, I suppose.
SS Any% FF2 GBA
Please put me down as maybe. I'd be coming in from Seattle (most likely driving and interested in carpooling).
I'd be running FF2 GBA. Current test run time is 5:45:xx but that easily had over an hour of mistakes. Sad
if I don't get my time down to a respectable 4 ~ 4.5 hours then I won't be speedrunning it for the marathon. It should be possible to run ~3.5 hours with my route, if luck is good. I'll be streaming in about a month when I get my capture card and any advice would be much appreciated. thumbsup

This also opens me up for a maybe. I'm only a couple hours from Romscout, I could either meet up with you or meet up with Romscout first. I'll have to chat in IRC as well.

Games I could run would include:

-Ninja Gaiden (NES) - 16-17 minutes
-Ninja Gaiden 2 (NES) - I'll mark it as 14 for now if stuff goes wrong, it's shorter than 1
-Kirby Superstar Co-op with Romscout (SNES) - 1 hour roughly, because we can actually play seriously when it's just us two haha.
-Castlevania SotN (XBLA pref) - Okay, this is a giant maybe. I know the route, and have played it, but I need a lot of practice. If so put it somewhere around 35 with mistakes like Rom's estimate.

I definitely don't want to take up too much more schedule time, but if there's potential for a cult hit:

-Star Tropics 2 - 1:10:00 to 1:15:00
