HELLO!
I feel I'd be remiss if I didn't mention eStarland to you guys.  Now that AGDQ has moved, it's not far from this video game store.

eStarland website: http://www.estarland.com

Directions from the Crowne: http://binged.it/12FjsUT

I don't want to oversell it. It's not a giant, stuffed warehouse of classic games. But it's got a solid selection.  *Some* imports but don't go in expecting to find Kamigami no Triforce 1.0 or something.

But it is a place you can go in and browse NES, SNES, SMS, Atari, Genesis games, get controllers, stuff like that.  They also have books, models, and whatnot.  I went once.  I got Berzerk and Hydlide.

Speedrunner
Is there a Crab Shack nearby?

Obligatory "where's the bowling at?" post:

We have:

Bowl America Dranesville
46940 Woodson Dr, Sterling, VA ‎ 3.9 mi NE of the Crowne apparently.

http://www.bowl-america.com/default.asp they seem to have $9.99 (no shoes) unlimited bowling Sunday - Thursday nights after 9PM. A lot more expensive than denver but what can you do.  Also we got music on the site to PUMP YOU UP.

I guess alternatively there's an AMF:

AMF Centreville Lanes

13814 Lee Hwy, Centreville, VA ‎
(703) 830-3700 ‎ · amf.com

But it is 8.3 miles away and not 3.9 so dunno if it is worth the trade off if the prices are even cheaper to begin with. Hopefully I'll have a car for AGDQ so at the very least I'll scout the 2 places if need be.

Dunno if we want to schedule some sort of bowling trip or just whatever go when we feel like.

I realize you said you didn't want to oversell but there's such a thing as swinging too far in the other direction.

I would be down for any good food place to attend if anyone knows the area well enough.

I know a couple pretty good places around the Fairfax/Vienna area (since I got a lot of friends there), but I'd want to know if anyone can find something special~
For those 21+ that are going:

There's a Dogfish Head Alehouse/Brewpub approx. 6 miles away from the Crowne.
There are quite a few breweries around the area too that offer tours/tastings.

I'm going to go ahead and nominate this for post of the month.

The best restaurants / bar scene (for those over 21) are probably going to be at Reston Town Center, but it's going to be pretty expensive. http://www.restontowncenter.com/index.php

A good option for cheaper food will be at the Dulles 28 Center.  They have a Wegmans, which is an amazing grocery store.  It has a full food court with a bunch of options and will probably be the best bet for groceries as well.

Other restaurants include:  Buffalo Wild Wings, Burger King, California Tortilla, CheeBurger CheeBurger, Cold Stone, Moby Dick- House of Kabob, Pei Wei (Wolfgang Puck Chinese restaurant, but a lot cheaper more of a carry out place), Potbelly Sandwiches, Robeks (smoothie place),  Sweet Frog ( Frozen Yogurt), Virginia ABC store (liquor store)

Reston Town Center- http://goo.gl/maps/ofZLM

Dulles 28 Center- http://goo.gl/maps/egLxu

A quick note about the maps, there is a toll road (267) in the area that is faster to use, but its a toll.  I mapped the toll-less routes.

That's nice, but aren't the sort of places I'm thinking about: for example, at SGDQ, we went to a godly Mexican buffet, mediocre Peruvian place, second best Indian I've ever had, decent ayce made-to-order sushi for $12, $1.35 a scoop Chinese restaurant, a cheesecake shoppe with insanely good and cheap ice cream, and a sad excuse of what Colorado pizza is, all among mountains of ihop.

Basically, unique food places (for better or worse). Also, I'll probably go to Moby Dick's just because it was the first place I ate in during my first AGDQ.
Crawlathon WR, get down on my level.
Withhelde: just go to Rock Bottom Tongue
I'm local to the area, so I've got a few restaurants in mind if you guys need any help ^^
(And yes, eStarland is amazing and you should give them your money.)

Only if there's a murder going on at the club next door.

One of the few times I'm going to be in that neck of the woods, and you have to drop that on me.

I'm definitely not going alone to this.
Balls jerky
I would hit up a dogfish head brewery tour in a heartbeat if only to add it to my brewery/distillery tour list. But they're pretty damn cool (and delicious) so there's that too.
Is PJ
Oh man.  I am going to live at Dogfish for that week.
I'm actually kind of glad we're doing a new location this year, because I won't look as silly being lost since this is my first AGDQ I'm going to XD

I'm going to gain a million pounds eating at all those places though. ;_;

I've only been doing any% sporadically unfortunately. Tongue
Dogfish is just a restaurant they they have, but they have lots of their brews of course. Actually Brewery is in Delaware if I recall correctly.

I was looking around for nearby mini-golf courses and found this gem: http://www.woodysgolf.com/#/perils/

Directions

Not sure how fun the holes will be, but this looks like quite the experience to say the least. I was sold when I saw this:

$10.25 per person is a little pricy for one course, but if 15+ of us go, it'll be about $8.70.

... second best Indian I've ever had....

The 1st best Indian you have never had is across the street from the Crowne hotel.

@Dxtr: Yes, but they are all shit unless we drive at least 1 hour away. I will have a car, and might consider a trip just b/c I <3 you.

RE: Reston Town Center. It is close by and very nice. Prices have gone up since I lived there, but still ok and they have some good food places/bars.
