Finally starting to get the hang of this

moooh - 32,698,600

I'll just +1 on the previous posters as I've had countless bonus stages ended because the side shooters (for the single flipper pair rooms) likes to throw the ball so that it bounces straight down in between the flippers with no chance of rescue.
Haters gonna hate
I never said you can't get completely screwed over by the game, and I'm definitely not immune to bad credits.  There are only so many times the game throws a ball at you absolutely can't hit though.  Can't hit on reaction, sure, but you do have a shot at it.  The more you play, the better a feel for the physics you'll get, and throwing in a preemptive precautionary hit of the flipper on occasion (especially when the side launchers get involved in the bonus stages) is a good idea.  Best example I can come up with is bonus stage 1, basically every time the ball comes from a side launcher I drumroll the flipper buttons when I hear the hit on a head register and it has saved my ass on multiple occasions.

For anyone who didn't notice, I added a hefty edit to my first post on this page with lots of strat and mechanics stuff.

I would have gotten 40 mil, too, if I had stayed up on the 3rd level...

Edit: Also, two things.

1. I think it is just the larvae on the bottom section (when you destroy the bumpers) that give you enemy kills, not the insects that come from them.

2. Do you know if the reason you sometimes get four flippers in a bonus stage, is the result of turning on the lights in the top level? I think they turn on when you kill the cultist people as a group, but I can't figure out for sure. Nevermind, it's the result of swinging around that area at the very top where you kill all those blobs.

I have no idea what causes the four flipper bonus stages, I do know it's not the lights at the top though, those are just the B.T. counter for the top board, so unless it's B.T. (which I don't think it is) that's out.

Oh well. All I know is that I've gotten it several times as a result of being in the top level for a long time, and it is permanent for the rest of the board too, until you die I think.

The vast majority of these points came from re-completing stage 1 with a blue ball lol

Note on the game mechanics: I'm pretty sure I've also got an extra ball by making all blobs above the woman blue. Since you don't mention blue for something else it's possible that both blue and red yields an extra ball.

nvm I must have remembered incorrectly. Got 3 blues on several occasions and there's only a non visible effect.

The second (and probably last) time I get over 100M. I might give it a few more tries in the next days, but I doubt I'll beat that score. I can barely stand playing pinball for 15 minutes at the arcade, so I'm not a fan of these 1+ hours credits
fucking .gif....
Shadow Jacky - 47,350,500

much better, was at the top a lot, but didn't get any of the skill shots Sad

completed like 6 bonus stages and chained 2 together.  don't know why this felt different from before, but this did remind me of playing Space Cadet.

About stage five, I think I have a 'tactic' for that worked out, specifically the four flipper version.

Based on a bit of statistics - the flippers are set very tight, so tight that it's practically impossible for the ball to go out directly without the possibility of deflection. All the balls I lost on any 4 flipper stage were due to the fact I had one flipper raised and the ball went from another way. Simple way to avoid that: always, ALWAYS press both flipper buttons at once or very close to that. I managed to set every gem save for one with that tactic, then gens crashed (I dunno why) :/. Fuck gens.

Oh, this would probably work on all 4 flipper stages, but generally in the other ones it's easier to just do them normally. And the hand can start hurting a bit from pressing two buttons at once. Finally, you get the 2 flipper flavour of stage 5, you can just as well let the ball fall in the middle immediately :P.

I've gotten all but 4 with two flippers on stage 5. That's the best I've ever done, though... I tried some strategy with the four flippers, but I still couldn't do any better than maybe six or seven of those things left :-\. I can also do better on stage 6 with four flippers, but I still can't beat it, lol.

This game is still fucking stupid, but I beat bsidwell.

125,600,400 - mikwuyma

BWAHAHAHAHA this game is still stupid. Took me about five minutes to beat stage 5 with four flippers (protip mash the shit out of your flippers):P

Another Protip: Whore the top

I'm most likely done with this game. I don't see myself doing any better unless if I feel like trying hours upon hours getting lucky again. AND NO I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU SAY BREAKDOWN, YOU NEED A TON OF LUCK.

P.S. I probably failed the bonus stages more than half the time. The trick is just to get them a lot and do them repeatedly. Also, mashing flippers >>> precision and aiming in every bonus stage except for 6 (which I actually failed every time :()
Glitching EB 1 flying man at a time
Yeah, the top for me has been the reason for my increase in score lately, but after you're done with the bonus stage up there, sometimes it's hard as hell to keep from falling down to the middle section...

Yeah stages (especially with 4 flippers) are easier to mash through Tongue
dannnnn - 13,675,000

Some really impressive scores, I don't know how you can avoid death for that long  Sad
My feelings on The Demon Rush
I actually held onto this score for a day, but I don't think anyone really cares about the game anymore, except maybe Enhasa, who we will see post in this topic and then he'll vanish for another week. Tongue

205,701,900 - mikwuyma

Highlights: Beating stage 5 and 6 with the blue ball, but failing stage 3 with four flippers for the same reason twice (I waited for the ball to come out and I hit the button too slowly). Actually, you could just say I was stupid for not mashing. Roll Eyes

So yeah, I probably could have beaten the game if I wasn't being a dumbass.

Some notes:

Restart like a fiend until you get an attempt where you get up on the top board and stay there for a while on your first life.

Top board:

If you're on top and looped through the gray stones (i.e protection), then try to hit as many cultists as possible to build up to 109 (one-up).

The bottom left hole is MONEY, especially if you have the blue ball.

Middle board: Try to get up to the top board. Tongue

Bottom Board: Good for building up multiplier, but why aren't you on the top? Huh?

No, I didn't record this attempt because frequent resets make recording annoying, though I'll make one if people are curious.
everybody wanna tell you the meaning of music
Time to vanish for another week. Bonus game: guess what I'm doing. 1) remodeling my Moka ultimate shrine, 2) torturing my Courtney Lee voodoo doll, 3) working on SDA (ha), 4) playing VOOT (I wish), 5) fill in the blank.

28,780,700 - Enhasa

PS guys, there's nudging in this game and AFAIK no tilt. If I think I'm getting screwed, I just nudge like a maniac and sometimes it helps.
Waiting hurts my soul...
there is a tilt, but it takes forever to hit... about 3-4 seconds of spamming tilt button.

If I could figure out how to work MAME for this, I'd join in on this week... I downloaded MAME, but I can't load anything.
MAME is a command line emulator. get a GUIfied version, like MAMEUI.
My feelings on The Demon Rush
Mickey_Mage: I use Wolfmame .99, which has a GUI.

http://wolfmame.marpirc.net/wolfmameplus-099-vc.exe

If you want to use a different version: http://wolfmame.marpirc.net/

Another thing: DON'T UNZIP YOUR ROMS. A common beginner mistake. I'm not sure why you would unzip your roms because they're smaller zipped anyways.

BTW, a mini-guide on how to configure custom button autofire (it's really stupid and unintuitive).

1. First off, when you start the game, press tab and select, "input (this game)".

2. Go to custom button 1 and select the button you want to use as your autofire button.

3. Press escape (or go to the bottom and select return to main menu) to go back to the main tab menu and select, "Custom button".

4. Now this is the really stupid part, instead of pressing the button you want to use as your custom button or something similar, you press the number that corresponds with the number. In other words, just press the 1 key on custom button one.

5. Press escape or select return to main menu and select, "Autofire Setting".

6: Set P1 Custom 1 to "on".

You're now finally done, and can autofire to your heart's content while still being able to charge your weapon.
