Ok I found a minor route change, a bit safer, easier and faster. Still I don't really understand what's causing the game to crash at the end. A couple of times I waited severals seconds but still got a crash. Another time I didn't wait at all and no crash. Hopefully it's not random...
EDIT: If the game crashes, you still got the checkpoint. So if you select continue at the game title screen you start right where it crashes. Should we allow to pause timer if that happens ? Just like the recurring crash in TR13
The crash occurs when you're climbing and you hit the checkpoint (or maybe half a second later when it's trying to load the mountain in the background, I d'ont know)
thx for posting it so quickly moXxi just learned the skip good work, also for anyone having trouble skywalking, as seen in moXxis first video you wanna drop a bit before setting it up
As always, I record everything in low framerates. The first OOB saves something like 30 secs. The second OOB, if it saves time at all, is probably not worth it. Might be worth it if we can figure out a way to avoid spawning those enemies at the end.
still managed to get the crash with the new route :/ and it was much harder for me to learn than the other one, do you know how long i need to wait i am willing to take those seconds for now
Ok so two skips in this video (Prophet's Tomb). The first one is an alternative skip to the AX climb you do to get out of the water. The second one is new I think. It saves something like 5 seconds. The jump is really easy, that's just 5 free secs
@MrTau No I really don't know :/ But if you wait like 4s, Jonah starts to speak. I never had a crash after that. But I haven't tried that much to wait. So it may have been just luck... Which part do you find harder in this route ? I forgot to show keyboard on screen, maybe I can help here
I just tried the alternative skip in the prophet's tomb and cliped outside of the room. I was able to swim around the map.. maybe we can skip the entire thing that way.
So I did an accidental skywalk on Approaching Storm, haven't been able to replicate because I don't know how to skywalk in the first place. It puts you on the rocks on the side of the castle, and I'm not sure where you can get from there. Here's a picture of the starting point. On X1 but I doubt it'll make a difference. This is after you see the mountain lion and advance upwards. You hook to the ledge and part of it collapses. Might be able to skirt around the final climb.
That's actually pretty promising cause you can climb up most of that mountain very early on in the game and can almost get to that exact spot. i was trying on 360 but I think a skywalk would get there. I'll have to record and upload.
@moXxi just the very last jumps on the rock walls i cant get it like you have to jumpclimb for it and it seems hard to me i will try again to get it more consistent
@ShiroChan there is an other way to skip this area even tho this seems really fast although in the end instead of clipping through that wall you can just jump out of the window before you drop down
Yep I'm just slipping off the rocks... I think slightly too much to the left or right and it's over.
EDIT: It's actually pretty ridiculous how unforgiving the entire last section is... cerntainly won't do that any time soon
And for the crash... I feel like when i grab the wall on the highest point and climb up immediately I won't get it. But when i grab the wall like 1 meter below the top and climb up quickly then it happens.
EDIT2: Ok I understand how it works now... I was using the axe all wrong.
I'm not sure if it would help at all, but when I first did it I was aiming like I was jumping towards the climbing wall, then just missed and ended up flying somehow, so it was a pretty far jump in.
@MrTau For the last rocks to climb in the intro, DON'T spam E (the axe for me). You want to press jump+E at the same time, at a slow pace. In the video I only press jump+E on my keyboard when you see Lara jumps. That should give you an indication about the rythm you need to have. And when you jump from a rock to another, wait to be on the the rock to press E. If you spam it or press it to soon you'll slip off. It's all about the rythm.
@AB So you figured out my route ? And I feel exactly the same way about the crash. I've done it a few more times and I really think the height is the key point.
@Moxxi Yea I can do it now... just takes a bit of practise but it can be done consistently which is good.
Now it is really time to find some stuff for the beginning of Syria.... I know about an OoB there which hopefully works out the "only" problem is that I can't get it anymore. But I'll post the video in a moment
Here it is
It just worked again... she tends to do the walk after landing from a jump
In Syria I found 2 Skywalks and one OOB at the bridge.
The OOB could be useful, but not sure. You "just" have to scramble jump. But it's so hard because of a stupid death trigger... It's possible though. You can go at the end of the bridge but I don't see how to progress further.
I can make a video for the 2 skywalks, but they are on this side of the bridge and I don't really see how it can be useful.
