Wow, that Mystical Munkeys was amazing. After I get a sub-2:14, I'm gonna go back and re-time all 225 electoons to see if the route should be changed at all. There are things you're doing that I wasn't even aware of. Mystical Munkeys actually didn't miss my initial cut by that much, so possibly there are faster routes to be found for any%.

Oh yeah, something I feel needs to be addressed as soon as possible, considering ILs are comin out of the woodworks now. You can go and do things in the first screen before hitting the timer, I think we need to specify whether this is allowed or not. On the bright side, we end up with some faster times, and on the downside regular players may consider this method "cheap". I'm personally not for allowing it, more so for the fact that it makes running ILs that much more tedious to do. Pitch in your thoughts on it people so we can get a ruling down Smiley

I haven't played the game, but if the ingame timer is to be used, I think that doing stuff before starting it goes against the spirit of SDA.  It's doing part of the level, then starting the level proper, just all on camera.  My stance is as follows: If the ingame timer is used, start the IL without going into the level; if the ILs will be timed manually, it doesn't matter.
General Kong - Bullets and Bananas
I've thought about that same thing.  I agree that since breaking barriers and such is necessary to complete the level, it should be included in the timing.  The in-game timer is accurate, so you should have to do everything while "on the clock".  I don't think it would warrant a different category since there are only a few levels you can do that on.  Although it is very creative and beneficial towards getting the trophy.  Smiley

Just missed out on a 36 on 1-2 ; ____ ; 37 became possible because shadowblade is awesome and worked out how the rope skip works. Smiley

Tonight after my stream, I'll have time to link all my times back from when I timed the 225 Electoons.

If you want my opinion, I would rather the timing started from gaining control of Rayman, but I suspect that in-game timer is in-game timer on SDA, and it would probably fall under the same heading as 2D Sonic games, where real time it would be faster to wait to finish the level in some cases so the point rack-up didn't last as long, but the time is based on the clock displayed, not real time. It might be different considering we're talking about heavily affecting the timer itself as opposed to real time, but I'm really not sure. Again, I hope it can just be from gaining control of Rayman, but I could see it going either way.

Just realised something that may need to be looked into. We all know of THOSE sections where all you can do is spin, where jumping afterwards would screw your momentum/hit a wall etc. I believe, and only that, BELIEVE, that spinning then executing a roll before the next spin lets you keep that momentum just a little bit longer. Really small, but if I'm right about this there is much time to be saved over the whole game. Going out now but I'll test and time some of this when I get back.

EDIT: Also, 2-2 is next on the queue for ILs

After watching your run I have since gotten 36' using those insane chain jumps you found. I've come so close to getting a low-mid 35 using a new strat I've come up with but it's so damn precise it's stupid lol
I shall upload my 36' run later but I am still aiming for 35 It's definitely possible.

Also another thing regarding doing things in the first section of the level before hitting the clock. I believe there should be two separate categories when it comes to doing this. I only do it in my runs to see how much time is saved as compared to doing it without it.

Edit: The thing is if there were a category for manipulating things in the first section how would we go about categorizing it if for example you were to kill both enemies where as I only kill 1 enemy before hitting the clock?

Is your crazy risky strat getting a higher bounce in the second screen and bouncing over the enemies? Cz that shit only worked like three four times for me. And about the categories, if you were to change the level at all before the timer starts it would all be under the same category.

Just to clarify.  Doing things before starting the timer is enough to be a different category.  What I meant was that since you can't do that on every single level, would it be able to have a seperate category?  Since you wouldn't be able to have a complete, second IL table with "before timer starts" stuff.

I have just discovered this and I have yet to test this out on other doors.

(Potential) Door Transition skip

So far I've tested all doors on Jibberish Jungle, Desert of Dijiridoos, Gourmand Land, Sea of Serendipity, Mystical Pique & Moody Clouds.
The door skip is simply performed by holding down after spinning through doors resulting in skipping straight into the next section.
So far I've only managed to find 2 skips that work. Doors underwater do not work at all so it may be pointless testing the rest of those.

Finally! Took longer than I thought testing this on all doors on every level still though some very interesting results.
There's other things other than this I've found using this skip.  I'll do a video explaining more on that another time but now it's time to take a break and get back to work. This game is to addictive :/
Hopefully these skips get put to some good use although they only save a couple seconds. Can't wait to see runs that may use this Smiley

Nice work man, I'm gonna guess that these skips would only be used in a full-game run, as I'm willing to bet it doesn't stop the timer on TT's (that's what door transitions seem to be for). It could easily save a multitude of seconds from place to place in an any% or 100%. Also hopefully more ILs today.
