Congratulations Yoshi! After a year of hard work you pulled it off. I believe a time around 2:08 or even a 2:07 is very well possible. I find it interesting that it took a year for both cheese (your 2:17) and Yoshi to get satisfying runs. I haven't even had a total of 15 attempts on running any% yet so I can only imagine how long it will take me to get something I am satisfied with.
Thanks guys! Although I'm defiantly not satisfied with this run until 2:08 at least and yup 2:07 would be possible aswell I guess you probably just meant happy and the end of the run?
Teach us how you got water and ice clip on first jump.
Edit: After a couple hours of working on the ice clip, I have figured that upon the angle you take facing the wall, the clip depends on where you hold your control stick. It looks like from the angle you took in your WR, the control stick must of been pointed up and slightly to the left. The more you look to the right the more you need to move your control stick left while still pointing up. Hmmm, maybe I could make drawing of this so I can explain this better. i found an angle to look at the wall that is really consistent for me by simply pointing the control stick all the way up left in the groove where your control stick sits.
I discovered some stuff while I was messing around with the Infinite Barrel Glitch and ended up finding a glitch because I held F1 by accident or whatever I did. I also found some other stuff regarding holding F1, but most of it isn't really vital to a speedrun. But it's interesting and needs some more looking into. Plus, I don't know if this stuff works differently on N64...
Damn, so it does not work in the sanitary of water and ice? That would be the pc version of orb skip but as your video said you need to be in an area where the game intends you to fly with the barrel. I could not get the zombie Rayman to work though. You just hold you head right when you die?

You are holding your head and then let the barrel kill you. In the video there I never let go of F1
I have not gotten these glitches to work on n64. What's funny is how you can't do revival cancel on pc but you can on n64. But on pc you can do different glitches that involve grabbing the head.
Also, orb skip in the sanctuary of stone and fire is also possible from the orange pedestal side. You could grab an extra lum here.
Well, the revival cancel does not work on pc for some reason. Maybe I'm doing something wrong when I try the glitches. On n64 though I did clip Rayman half through the ground when I threw the barrel in the air, held down L, then caught the barrel.
I just found a glitch that blew my mind. I'll try uploading it...
I was hoping to get a cutscene skip out of it. The first attempt gave me something similar to the Elixir-cutscene, and the second one was indescribable and had my mouth wide open as to what happened
One frame before spinny craziness happens I saw the Green Lum respawned. I don't know why that happened => http://puu.sh/aQDrF.jpg
EDIT: I think it doesn't matter when you death-warp, even though when you do it early, it locks the camera. And I think I know why I death-warped while being in the water-sliding animation. I ended up getting the same result as the first attempt, but I shot Ssssam before my falling-on-the-ground-animation made me death-warp the second time. So I ended up death-warping while I was in the water-sliding animation. And because you're not supposed to be able to death-warp during that animation, my animation carried over to my respawning and caused me to get frozen in place. And after a random amount of time, I spin into the portal and crash the game (why that happens is a mystery)
Ok. The glitch works with the Teensie cage cutscene as well. Except that when I death-warp during the cutscene, the cutscene just stops and I respawn. And the Teensies from the cutscene are just standing there. If I get close enough to them, I trigger the same cutscene again and lose control of Rayman.
I managed to get out of bounds by going really far away from the cutscene when it triggered. Then after holding up I went through the ground. But it didn't accomplish anything.
I also tried this with the cutscene that you get if you don't have 5 Lums, but didn't give me different results
