Thanks, everyone. As Unreal said, 2:04 is possible, but it would be difficult. 2:05 is pretty reasonable.

In the room in Sanctuary of Rock and Lava right after the first screen fade, I tried holding L while the worms hit me to see if I could clip out of bounds. If it were possible, you might be able to helicopter down to the green lum, skipping the first plant ride. However, I was unable to get out of bounds.

I did the same thing again as the 2nd try on the glitch in the last video. But this time I set myself up to already be zombified. Game-Overing gets me this result:

Now I got an explanation for what those sound effects were when Rayman was spinning. It sounded like wood, well it was. It was Rayman's twin!

This is insane how there are two rayman in that picture. Have you tried dying in the first cutscene with Sam with zombie rayman? Or maybe dying somehow in one of the cave of bad dreams cutscene.

Manocheese, I plan to watch your run tonight; looking forward to it.

If I die, I just get the falling-on-the-ground-animation and then I Game Over like normal. I haven't tried holding F1 during the elixir cutscene yet. I'll get around to that...
it's common for there to be 2 Raymans during cutscenes (one a dummy that you can't control), for example in the fairy glade you can see it too, if you skip the cutscene of the barrel throwing pirate (at least on PC)

During this glitch there's actually one Rayman doing the falling-on-the-ground-animation, and one is in it's water sliding animation. The game over is caused by the Rayman that's doing the falling-on-the-ground-animation. Then that Rayman respawns on the bridge because the Green Lum respawned as well, and the Rayman that was in it's water-sliding-animation got stuck and somehow ended up in the portal. I'm kind of hoping this could lead to some wrong-warp, but there's a crash in the way Tongue

I tried some of this on N64 and I couldn't seem to get it to work. Maybe I was doing something wrong. Either way, I found out that you can cancel fist shots with the L button... nothing important to that but eh, it's cool Tongue

Ugh, I had a PB paced game going and choked it in the sanctuary of stone and fire. Seems to be a common place of run ending for me, besides iron mountains.

Also, I have been testing to see if you can skip certain skulls in the cave of bad dreams (Jano fight) by just damage boosting to the next platform, although if I could get it to work, it probably would only work for 1 platform to the next, since for the 1st one there is the death warp and then for the other one there is purple lums, and the final one is too big, so the only one you could do it on is probably the one that leads to the 5-lum. If anybody else would like to test this with me, feel free.

Also, how do I get the audio commentary for your 2:17, manocheese? I am interested in listening to it. I understand it needs to be downloaded or something, but it just gives me quality options... :/
Yes, a cucco riding the ground.
The commentary is included as a separate audio track in the normal and high quality videos. It's probably in low quality as well, though I might have omitted it to save space. To switch to the audio commentary, look for an audio track menu in your media player and click on track 2. If you're using Windows Media Player, the option is hard to find because Microsoft really screwed with the menus in the newer versions. You have to switch to full screen, then right click the video and go to "Audio and language tracks". Then the tracks might be in the wrong order; the commentary is track 2, but WMP sometimes thinks it's track 1.

I just improved my pb to a 2:15.12. I executed all the big skips very well but my overall play was very sloppy with costly deaths. I'm looking to try again tomorrow.

Holding F1 in the Teensie cutscene doesn't really do much. If I just death-warp, the cutscene cancels and I can just re-trigger it again. If I Game Over before the cutscene ends, I just go back to the beginning of Woods of Light. If I death-warp later, I get the save prompt before the Game Over screen ends. But just maybe, if you get the save prompt on the same frame as the Game Over screen ended, maybe it will break the game. But what would the timing for that be. Plus, sometimes in the cutscene, the invisible Rayman resets to it's default position, so you need to get back into position again.

EDIT: F1 also seems to be disabled in Marshes of Awakening after the Sam cutscene, so I don't think holding F1 during the elixir cutscene is going to do anything. But I could try...
I found a cutscene skip in Cave of Bad Dreams. It probably only saves 3-4 seconds, but it works. I'll try uploading it...

It's interesting, if you slow down the video at 2:33, you'll see it shows the same screen as when Rayman was cloned and one spinning in circles. So maybe there's some relation...

This was the Double Death Glitch one

The picture above, 3 frames before that, Rayman's shadow is actually present (picture below). Meaning he may've been able to respawn there if not for the cutscene.

So maybe when I did the Double Death Warp Glitch, the Rayman that was spinning was supposed to get out of the portal. But because Rayman was stuck in a water-sliding-animation, it couldn't correct that and crashed the game. And the Rayman that was stuck on the bridge was supposed to despawn after frame 1, but didn't.

Also, this screen contains 4 frames before it does the cutscene where Rayman goes out of the portal

Wow, I wonder what other cutscenes you can skip while walking into them.

I improved my pb to a 2:13.26. I had lots of costly deaths but good execution on the big skips again.

For a minute I thought you could skip the laser beams disappearing in the Bayou by holding F1, but if you release F1, it'll play the cutscene at the part where it would've been at that point. And even then, there are several spots where it starts disabling F1, so you'd need to death-warp to cancel that.

Up until Cave of Bad Dreams I F1ed through the game and didn't find anything else. Too bad that you can't skip the first Clark cutscene with it. Then you'd maybe be able to skip Cave of Bad Dreams entirely...

Also, congrats on this PB!

EDIT: Cutscene skip doesn't work on N64.

Have you tried skipping any of the Murphy cutscenes KirbyComment?

Doesn't work. It won't change the camera to zoom in towards Rayman. And if I can zoom in I have to be standing still, but because I have to walk to the trigger holding F1 does nothing. Maybe if you knocked into the trigger, that may work, but there wouldn't be anywhere to do it.
But I can see that it'd be nice. That would mean no more relying on perfectly timed jumps.
Kirby: after you finish the Cave of Bad Dreams, the portal that led to it in the first place always exits you out of Marshes. It works exactly the same as the portal at the beginning of the level regardless of Game Overing or F1'ing or whatever, apparently. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear until you Game Over or re-enter Marshes - this means you can't enter it (and thus exit Marshes) right after Cave of Bad Dreams.

I know. It just seems kind of odd that the portal that lead to the Cave of Bad Dreams now leads to the Hall of Doors. Unfortunately F1 is disabled during that cutscene, and I think death-warping before even entering Cave of Bad Dreams doesn't enable it again, like it does in The Bayou.

I found a way to skip the first 2 phases of Jano. Jano would need to be on the left side, then lure him to send the skull past the pillar where you're standing on and then you'd shoot it while it's behind you and offscreen. From there you can jump on it and get the second Green Lum early (the one near the rings). Unfortunately this skip is seemingly useless because Jano refuses to move and death-warping will cause him to be bouncing in the air.

When he picks a position he'll no longer be bouncing in mid-air. Also, the skulls he spawns from way over there despawn when the reach the second pillar, so there's no way to skip any more than just the one skull cycle.

Darn. Good idea, but it looks like it won't work. I've tried using moon jump before to skip some platforms in that battle and I always ran into the same problem you did.

Thank for the instructions for the commentary manocheese, I listened to it and it did help. I don't know if you remember talking about this, but the DC cutscene after prison ship; he frees like 30, but there is at least 25 thousand extra. So, do they just stay on the ship until it explodes and all die? Hmmmm.

Anyways, I slept for 14 hours today so no runs until the 17th when I am settled into the new house.

Heh, I remember talking about that.  There's no fall damage in Rayman games, so I guess they all jump.

Yeah, that's the platform I was using. I also tried getting hit while on the web or jumping from the web right before getting hit.
