You pick up magic in Segment 16 as an adult while going to the forest temple. The silver gauntlets aren't needed at any point during this route. Am I missing something here?

How could you skip Silver Gauntlets?  You need them in the Forest Temple.

Edit:

I've been practicing the Deku Tree.  Is there a trick to the skulltula vine glitch?  I can only do it when the web where the switch is is gone.  I've been able to do it with the web there but only about twice out of 50+ attempts.  It's easy when the web isn't there though.  I hope there is a trick to it. Can't you use bomb hovers to bypass that part?

If you're crazy.  Getting Silver Gauntlets is faster than hovering up the blocks.

You would only need to use bomb hovers once at the final stage of puzzle, I think. I'm not exactly sure if you can go thorugh that section to get to that final climb without pushing any blocks. You can certainly ground jump on top of the blocks but sometimes the roof is too low and you die. If this is not possible and you need to collect the silver gauntlets, the route would still remain the same except you would pick up the gauntlets at the end of the child spirit.

ok when the route was all drawn out, this was discussed and the correct option was clearly to not bombhover there. Especially when you could save time w/ the groundjump... To bypass this you are looking at a minimum of... 10 bombs probably, I tried it before as a kid and ran out, but I still had a ways to go so... That is 10 bomb fuses as well...

About that seam.... even if you wanted to climb it, how do you plan on getting past those boulders w/ no bombs? Yea, you forgot about those huh..... Well... after 30 mins w/ savestates, a tektite, and swordglitch/slingshot backflips and sidehops, I have managed to get into the upper area w/out the stupid bombs. Yes, I'll make screenshots. (I'd make a movie but honestly, you know what to do, the hard part is setting it up. But, It isn't that hard after lots of time trying it lol. But it does take lots of time to do. (and no you can't start in the corner, backflip shield then backflip and have the tektite jump fast enough to let you shileld again..... maybe you could if you lured 2 tektites up.... which is probably possible and much much easier. (im gonna go try that)

sweet, double tektite is way easier and faster too. (ill make a vid of this)

Enjoy that! (technically you can get magic before bombs  ;D)

Okay, so now we can get magic w/out bombs... if you find a way to get FW then SS can do early spirit!

If only that trick was good for a multi-segment.  It's so cool!

I've decided to move on without redoing the rupee route right away (I'm definetly redoing it though!).  I can't move on to the Deku Tree until this has been answered:

I have Deku Tree part 1 done but I want to upload both at the same time.
I've actually been doing a little OoT run of my own... probaly just for myself and my friends but I AM pretty good, don't go yelling at me though, just saying...

That would take wayyyyyyyyyyy to long to setup, but it also allows ou to enter DC without explosives.

It kind of makes me wonder if using poes in the graveyard is quicker than bomb hovers.

So you're working on 5 speedruns now?

Ocarina of Time
The Wind Waker
Majora's Mask
Spyro
Medal of Honor

Talk about a whore.  How many Like-Like's have you slept with?
Where the hell did you get spyro? And I said I quit the MM run.

I'm only doing Medal of honour with my friend, and the wind waker, OoT was just for my time, I wasn't trying to beat your time.
Stand: Devil's Call in your Heart
hm, MQ would be faster in that section since you can skip all the gauntlets/bracelet without bomb hovering.

the new ganon skip for MQ puts it even closer to OoT.

I live in Canada too, Winnipeg, MB to be exact.  It doesn't really matter how Canadians or Americans spell it because the title of the game is "Medal of Honor" not "Medal of Honour".

*sigh* I've been lurking this thread since TSA created it waiting to see this run finished. Because I knew even if this run wasn't the best it would lead to many more people here attempting it all the way through and I love this run and game. I checked again after not having the internet for a while and find that he gave up and there's no further hope for it to be finished since the subject is barely even OoT speedrun anymore. I guess I should go watch the TAS... this thread used to be fun to keep up with because it seemed like some insane trick would be discovered every week.

Oh well, nice run TSA. You got further then all else. I wished you have done it through to the end even if it wasn't the best because you would have paved the path for many others.
