*sigh* I've been lurking this thread since TSA created it waiting to see this run finished. Because I knew even if this run wasn't the best it would lead to many more people here attempting it all the way through and I love this run and game. I checked again after not having the internet for a while and find that he gave up and there's no further hope for it to be finished since the subject is barely even OoT speedrun anymore. I guess I should go watch the TAS... this thread used to be fun to keep up with because it seemed like some insane trick would be discovered every week.

Oh well, nice run TSA. You got further then all else. I wished you have done it through to the end even if it wasn't the best because you would have paved the path for many others.

Unfortunately, this topic has become completely pointless.  I'm actually pissed off that it has come so off-road.  I blame coolcwer for being such an idiot (don't you dare say something stupid), though we all deserve blame.  I'd like to get back on topic so the question I've been asking for the past 3 days gets answered so I can move on to the Deku Tree.  You guys do want a speedrun of this game completed, am I correct?

I've been practicing the Deku Tree.  Is there a trick to the skulltula vine glitch?  I can only do it when the web where the switch is is gone.  I've been able to do it with the web there but only about twice out of 50+ attempts.  It's easy when the web isn't there though.  I hope there is a trick to it.

You've got to be kidding me....  Tongue
I also have been following this topic for a very long time and I'd just like to say coolcwer.... you suck balls.
thanks.  Grin
No really, take a seat no name. People are trying to hold a conversation here.

Someone please answer Fluffy's question! Ok, after re-watching Acryte's and AKA's vids, I noticed that in Acryte's, the web is there, but in AKA's its not. So, what does this mean? I guess the web has nothing to do with it. And I have no idea if there is a trick to it, as I was wondering the same thing earlier, sorry.

Edit: I know but I was referring to the web next to the switch where the chest containing a recovery heart is, FLuffy was asking if that web being there had any effect on the vine glitch.
He's back!

My video was a demonstration of the trick. Acryte's was a demonstration of a speedy aproach and execution.
But is there a trick to it? I tried and just got thrown into nothingness and died, sometimes I just get thrown back  Tongue

This is the only way I can pull it off 100% without burning the web.

Is it good enough?
Yes, a cucco riding the ground.
That still seems faster than the old hover method, but perhaps you could try breaking the web, immediately saving, then jumping down?

I think that would be the fastest way.

Nah, Acryte's way is the fastest, ignoring the time gained in the section immediately after the glitch from being closer to the beginning of the segment.

Fluffy, there is a slightly slower but much easier method. Do this: Jump down and when the web breaks, immediately pause and save a new segment. Then you can just jump down and try it over and over till you get it.

That's what Manocheese said and that's what I'm doing.
I hope this isn't known but I found a way to skip half of the shadow temple. It involves going through the cage and into the boat room from the first silver rupee room.
Speed is the key.

Nice, I hope it isn't a boundary violation. Smiley

Oh sweetness, I was looking non-stop for a way to do that. good job!

If this is a legit method, that means we only have 4 barriers left...
1) Door Of Time (will never fall)
2) Nabooru Dialogue Skip (who knows)
3) Light Arrows Skip (will never happen)
4) FW before child spirit (for SS) [get on top of zoras fountain's right side, or get bombchus from well w/out bombs/bombchus]

For a game w/ so many "barriers", we have bypassed an unbelieveable amount. Congrats to all.

As for #4, Fluffy has found that you can jumpslash through the side of the cave from up top. I pointed out that skulltula on the right, but it is too high to hover off of. Secondly, if you can levitate through the ceiling near the like like in well, you can go through ceiling, but me and fluffy tried and you can't do it... and if you could, you would waste too much time since that bubble takes a million years to circle around. It would be like using guays to skip to the mirror shield as a child in order to bypass Nabooru dialogue... dumb.

Uploading to Youtube...
This trick was surprisingly easy and I'm a little surprised nobody else thought of it. It's also remarkably similar to the "get inside of the archery minigame house while still being outside" glitch.

Edit: Here it is
The video quality is worse than I expected and the sound lags but I hope you can still see what I am doing.
He's back!

You forgot glitching past Shiek  in the ToT.

That video of yours is very dark, Xenos. I can't figure out what's happening since there seems to be a sound desynch too.

I have gotten it to work but its very hard to prevent yourself from falling in the river, you can actually glitch in a different place.

EDIT: No, I was wrong its the same place.

EDIT_2: The trick is to use hover boots and then do it reasonably close to point in the video. I'll make a vid of this later. I've been able to land on the boat.

EDIT_3: OK mastered it now. It takes 15-20 mins to do it nearly every time. Go

Xenos

EDIT_4: Here's a better quality video of it, I got too frustrated when trying to nail the hover to the boat.

EDIT_5: Here's the boat trick I was talking about earlier

Oh no!

Two Superslides in Shadow Temple now?

Well... Atleast they're close together.  Very nice find, Xenos.
You can get past the door of time with a jumplash. O_o Seriously...

You need cheats though.
no....

someone said you can get through without cheats, I doubt it, but I'll try anyway.
