Piece of cake!
I am Lomelli, I grew up with video games. I watched AGDQ 2013 and I wanted to get in on this speed thing. I want to start with Ninja Gaiden and branch out, and I know SDA can help. Super Mario World was my first game, and is my favorite down to this day. If you catch me streaming I'll try and make it fun for everyone.

Edit: well, since we're posting stream links... http://www.twitch.tv/lomelli

The name is SeasonsGuide and I love speed runs! I figured hey, these are so much fun to watch I really super want to play them ya know? So i will. I'm planning on starting with Earthbound cause I love that game so why not do it for the love?
Hello there, guys and gals! tocophonic here, almost 27-year-old from Vienna, Austria. I know SDA for some years now, but the point i fell in love with you guys was during AGDQ2013 - i think i'm not the only one with that fate, haha Smiley I got a SEGA Mega Drive (Genesis) back in 1992 when i was 6 years old and to date it's still the only console I have ever had but I enjoy playing NES/SNES and other console games on emulators with my gamepad. Only thing is that i'm probably not even really good at it compared to most of you guys Smiley But there's always space to improve.
Currently I am planning on attending AGDQ2014 which needs some serious planning, the trip is quite far and costly. Would love to meet most/some of you personally - I could feel the intense togetherness just from watching the stream, which really hit me there. Plus, i blame you all for ruining my sleep pattern, haha Smiley

Im Sonofevil call me Soe or Joe Smiley I was a halo 3 pro for 1 season of MLG and a Starcraft broodwar pro for 2 ladder seasons aswell. Ive noticed most new gen games just aren't bringing me the same joy the older games from my child hood did in the 90s..so i stumbled across some speed running livestreams about 4 months back it inspired me. So i decided to start speed running myself, currently running Zelda: OoT and just started Double Dragon 2: The Revenge! Stop by my live stream if you desire so! http://twitch.tv/sonofevil Smiley Hope to meet new people and make even more friends. Glad to be part of this community.

Double Dragon II is an awesome game that does not get much play, contact me if you ever want to race it!

Hello everyone I am cardman84, from the area outside of Pittsburgh PA. I have been playing video games since a little kid, grew up starting on the NES all the way up to what we have now be it console or PC. I have been fascinated with classic games and continue to play them to this day. I have known of speed running for a few years now but never thought i have what it takes, checking out this site from time to time and watching several of you on twitch. I finally decided to give it a chance after watching AGDQ 2013 seeing of how accepting everyone was. I might start trying to run some of my favorite games (Super Mario Brothers 2, Powerblade, Super Mario Brothers 3, Super Mario World and many others). I look forward to meeting you and sharing strategies and stories.
I setup a twitch account and will be trying to figure out the best way of streaming with what i have available.
Here is my stream if anyone is interested...  http://www.twitch.tv/cardman_84

We should meet up some time, and play some games! Cheesy
Hey there everyone! The name is SniperWolf100, and as you can probably tell by the name, I'm a big MGS fan. I'm 19 (turning 20 next week) and from Toronto Canada. I've actually been an SDA lurker since the first AGDQ in 2011, and have been hooked to all this amazing speed running action and the great runners. Finally decided to make an account and help support this site in any way I can. I plan on doing some runs real soon, and hopefully get to meet some of you guys here. I'm really interested in speed running Mega man 10, Okami, Final Fantasy 13, and possibly some MGS games. A lot of my speed running inspiration came from Duckfist and Jiano, which is why I've been practicing Mega man 10 for quite a bit.

Heres a link to my twitch channel http://www.twitch.tv/SniperWolf100

Theres not much on it since I've only recently made it, but I hope to start getting some runs going soon.
I play games, wanna fight about it?
How's everyone doin? My name is Kyle Vega, but I think all of you will better know me as Vega4993. I'm 19 years old living my life the way I want to; its not easy, but it is worth it. I joined SDA in high hopes of taking my gaming to the next level. I love speed runs and I watch them on twitch all the time, loving to learn new things. I play all types of games(well.. except sports) but I'm a retro gamer at heart. My game of choice to run is Spider-Man & Venom: Maximum Carnage for the SNES. The World Record is owned by Josh "The Funkdoc" Ballard at 20 minutes and 32 seconds. I started trying to beat his record via emulator(ZSNES) since at the time I didn't have an official console. Now I've procured one, and I've beaten this record in hope to submit it to SDA. If you want to see my work now, check out my highlights on www.twitch.tv/vega4993. If you want to get to know me more, catch me on my stream, I like to chat with people and develop nice gaming friendships. Until then, see ya around Smiley
All Hail the Marlwolf!
Hey everyone! Got another relative newcomer to the scene here. Grin

I go by Jouralto in most cases, and I just started speed running late December, despite my interest in doing so since AGQD 2012. I've done a few races on SRL and I've been running Mega Man Legends on emulator to start my life as a speed runner. I'm planning to learn to run mostly the games I loved in my youth, as one should, meaning I'll be mostly focused on learning Mega Man Legends, MM7, C:SOTN, Dark Cloud 2, and others as I think of them. I'm from California, and if you look above me, I'm the guy who got Mr. Derp up there interested in the speed running community as well.

That said, my main goals of speed running are to enjoy the collaboration of the community, entertain people for countless hours and resets, and bring new life into the games that I loved to play as a kid and still love to play today! I'm looking forward to working with this community to break as many games as possible, and bring new light to the classics we all know and love.

You can find my stream at http://www.twitch.tv/Jouralto_SR

Feel free to join me when I go live for chat and entertainment!

Quote from johannhowitzer:
Greetings, I'm a speedrunner from SpeedRunsLive.  I watched a lot of AGDQ this past week, including the Final Finale, which convinced me I need to be involved in SDA as well.

I'm currently the WR holder (as far as I'm aware) for any% Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt for SNES.  It's not a very good record, so I'm working on improving it, and hoping the game will get more exposure and maybe I'll have some competition!  It's a really responsive platformer with some excellent art and music, but the Addams Family aesthetic might be a turn-off to some, and I guess the game didn't get much publicity.

I have other projects in the wings, like a FFX Nemesis speedrun I'm planning out right now.  My goal is to be at the next AGDQ, and maybe also some other marathons at some point; to that end, my New Year's resolution is to stream on SRL a lot more and get myself some actual viewers.  Y'know, more than 2-3 would be nice.  Smiley

Welcome! I don't know many people that actually know about Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt, let alone someone that speed runs it.
Wonderprincess
Well, where to start?

My name is Rayas, I'm a 28 yo french speedrun and TAS enthusiast.
I've discovered SDA years ago, at a time where tasvideos was still bisqwit.fi; since then I've been watching submissions (how many hours of studying have I lost, consumed by some speedrun? :p). I watched every marathon since classic games done quick.
For years I enjoyed TAS far more than classic speedruns, but since streaming speedruns is now possible for everyone, it's a real treat to be able to watch live speedruns AND chat with the runner himself.
Nowadays I'm part of a french community (Nesblog), trying to promote speedruns and TAS through internet shows (88mph and SpeedGame).
As a speedrunner per se though, I'm actually trying right now to learn old video games from my childhood to the point of speedrunning then (Master System games mostly, this system really needs more love from SDA and tasvideos).
In a matter of weeks, one of the major french video game websites will open a forum section dedicated to speedrun and TAS, forum section which I will host o/ hope that will bring even more speedrunning hype.

Keep being awesome, love you all.
Zoologically improbable
Hey, everyone! I'm yet another newcomer from AGDQ 2013. My name is Nikki, I'm basically 25 (just a few more days), and I'm from the US (boring old North Dakota). I watched AGDQ and SGDQ last year as well, but this year really inspired me to join the forums and start really sort of digging in. I guess the main thing that made me make a forum account is that I really wanted to thank all the runners for putting on such a phenomenal show and raising funds for charity.

The coolest part about it for me is that you guys actually got my sister interested in gaming. She's never really been interested in video games very much aside from watching me play from time to time, but something about AGDQ, whether it was the amazing runs and technical skill that was displayed, the fact that there was clearly a camaraderie between the runners, or the great commentary/knowledge (or probably a combination of everything), clicked with her and she started following a bunch of the individual runners' twitch pages and asking me all sorts of questions. She's even pushing me to start running on my own!

I just wanted to share that story to let you guys know that you're definitely sparking interest even in people who normally wouldn't think twice about video games. It's really amazing what this community can do. I look forward to digging in, learning as much as I can, testing some stuff out, and getting to know people a little better! (:

Hello everyone.

I've been following speed running for a few years now and some of you might have noticed me in your streams. My username seems to make some people think about the lovely Gergoth, which isn't a bad thing I'd say.

Anyway, I've finally decided to make the time to get into speed running myself and I've also finally decided on what my first game will be. I'll be working on a SS Phantasy Star 3: Generation of Doom (using the Steam's SEGA Genesis & Mega Drive Classics version) with glitches (2nd generation skip glitch for sure and also probably the Pron glitch too) run as my first speed run. Using the search function I haven't seen any thread about that game, so I'll likely create one before the end of the month. Since it's going to be my first run, and the only run of that game I've found is the TAS, I'd welcome any advice on how to efficiently route a RPG as I'll need to use very different strats for my run, especially for gear/leveling during the 3rd generation.

See you guys and gals around, and I'm looking forward to the experience of running a game myself.
Hey~ Another person who got introduced to this through AGDQ 2013~ I generally go by Kei or khiro and I'm not sure about actually doing speedruns myself, but I've become interested in it due to AGDQ~ I'm not sure whether or not I will actually pick it up  myself but I love watching 'em~
Saw you guys at AGDQ, speedrunning looks fun, going to try and get into it.

Currently only playing Toki cause it sounded hilarious, and indeed it is.

Hey everyone, I'm Sam (or Tea, doesn't matter) and I started enjoying gaming since I was a kid but was turned on to speedrunning by the Sandython charity I found late 2012.  I've been trying to find a game I enjoy enough that A) Wouldn't be dreadfully long, and B) That I wouldn't hate myself playing for hours on end without any new content.  So far I've been refining the new DMC game and considering its level structure and such I think I'll probably start doing that.  Overall I can't wait to see more, participate, and hopefully I'll feel good enough to eventually start streaming myself!  You might even see some stuff done Co-op between me and my brother.
Hello. I'm Mikko from Finland. I've created this user maybe 4 or 5 times now but it always seems to disappear after a while, maybe because I never post anything.
I've been watching speedruns and lurking here since 07 or 08, not really sure.
we do sometimes trim accounts that have no posts and haven't logged in in a certain amount of time. that will never happen again in your case. welcome (back) to the forum!
Well, in that case I may as well post my introduction now.
Hey everyone, name's Beefmaster. I'm a biochemistry student from The Netherlands.
After being linked to AGDQ 2013, I thoroughly enjoyed watching some runs that I could make time for. Awesome stuff, you guys. The marathon got me interested in trying some speedruns myself (though you probably won't be seeing them as I don't have any means to record at the moment) and I'm considering attending a future marathon if things work out.
I've already picked a few games I want to try speedrunning, including the game Catherine. Results on that will have to wait a bit though, since watching AGDQ and practising runs have cut pretty majorly into study time. Expect to see me post more after exams.
Hey guys and girls I go by the username IndigoWhite but most of my gaming friends call me Indi! =)

I've watched the past few AGDQ's and since followed a lot of the runners here, but I have never posted. The recent AGDQ encouraged me to speedrun a game for myself. I have started on Little Inferno on PC and I'm enjoying working on the run. I hope to pick up a few more games for running in the near future.

I have a livestream in place and ready to go and hopefully I'll add to the awesome ranks already here!
Hi everyone! I'm DarkOrbX, and I've been watching speedruns for a while now, as well as lurking around on the SDA Forums. I'm planning on getting into running some Paper Mario Sticker Star, I've been trying to learn it recently.
