Waiting hurts my soul...
Wild Arms is fun too! Final Fantasy VII and on haven't been as fun as IV, V, and VI for me. Suikoden is great, and I hope a run is made some time in the future. I mean if we all work together to get that first perfect segment, then we can share it with everyone. Cheesy
Hi i'm Todd, AKA $URGe.  Watched this years AGDQ marathon for many days as well as the bonus stream and have been busy watching other SDA'ers streaming daily.  I haven't considered speedrunning games at this point, just because I'm not sure where I'd start, and because most of the games I play are not the type you can really speedrun. I own original NES, SNES, PS1,2,3 all the GameBoys up to SP, a PSP and 360.  I also game on my PC heavily.

I'm glad to be here and hope to maybe eventually contribute something to the community if I can manage Smiley
Waiting hurts my soul...
Oh, so you play mostly rhythm games, sh'mups, and MMORPGs? Beyond these, I can't think of any games you couldn't speedrun. Verifiers contribute a lot, so do take a look at that board and sign up if you've played one of the games in this list.
Hello, i'm Gourmand, from Quebec City. I've been watching speedrunning for a while now. I always liked to do game quickly but never really timed myself. I pretty much own every Nintendo console. a xbox 360 and of course a PC, that i pretty much only play SC2 on it.

Anyways i guess i should start speed running one day. For the fun of it, but a bit more seriously then i do currently, as in timing myself and actually planning the run.

Good day to you all!
@rev yea, FPS mostly of late, games like Borderlands and Skyrim are there too but would take forever to actually be able to put something together.  I'll definitely take a look at that list and to see what all i could possibly work on.
Hi, I'm Tobias from Germany. I've been on SDA for a few years now and watched the SGDQ and this years AGDQ. My fav. games are NES/SNES jump'n'runs and platforming games. But I also like C64 and older PC games. Don't get me wrong, I do also play new games (XBOX,Wii,....) when I'm at my friends' house but the older games are better the best. The look ( much more love has been put into these games ) and much better to speedrun.
Thats all for now. Bye
I lost mine
Hello, I'm Vincent from Wine Country Area, California. I've been watching Speedruns for a few years and just now felt like joining. Other than watching runs I really like listening to music and playing arcade games. Can we run those? I haven't seen any posted. Other than that i enjoy games for all systems. Sooo thats about it.
Praise the Sun!
Good day, my name is Aaron, I come from Ontario, Canada. I've been watching speed runs on this site since...2008? I first became interested in speed running when I saw the 16 star Mario 64 speed run. Which I believe was around 2005, 2006. I think the biggest thing that pushed me to join was the marathons, they look like a lot of fun, I wish that I could be part of that crowd, but I believe I'm far too casual for any high records. Games I'm interested in speed running is the fire emblem series, MAYBE Paper Mario, and perhaps something that's more skill oriented eventually.

My favourite games from my childhood were Pokemon Silver and Paper Mario, right now though, my favourite games are probably any game like Monster Hunter, Demon Souls or Dark Souls, I just can't get enough of that genre of hack and slash gameplay.

I'm an artist, an amateur at best, I've done spriting in my spare time for about 7 years up until about 2008/2009, I dropped it after that for hand-drawing, but I still go back now and then for spriting.
life remixer
Hello everyone, I'm Xavier aka "mv" or "mistermv". I've been following the SDA for many years now and absolutely love the speed runs and marathons. I'm a music composer/sound designer for games, video game music remixer & I've also been covering the marathons in french along with other people so that non-english speakers could have voiceovers for it Smiley I also host a speedrun podcast and am planning to help launch a french community/website hub for it. I'm very interested in speedrunning some games officially and am about to invest in some hardware for it.

You guys do an amazing job and I'm glad to finally join the community, officially! ^^

BTW Breakdown from the website will be on a podcast with me today (Sunday, 4PM EST / 10PM CET), even though I'll be presenting some stuff in French the itnerview itself will be in English so don't hesitate to drop by Smiley http://www.elive.pro/en/watch/VRtQCQ8kWJzM
cool seeing you around here, mv. don't know if you remember but i used to hang out in #vgfun ages ago. still digging that sensual ippon mix from sor1. actually adam originally introduced me to metroid prime in spring 2003 and that's why i'm here now.
Catherine Speedrunner (360)
Hi my name is Bostonbrew, Nick IRL. I have been playing Catherine for over 6 months and have a current speedrun record or 2 hours 40 minutes (load time included) I also do runs a Babel and play other games when I get board. I definitely would like to start streaming here to show what I can do and entertain a few people.

Hey, my name is Emma but just call me Augora or Auggie. I found out about SDA through TheSpeedGamers when they had Essentia play in their Mario marathon back in 2010. Been watching the SDA marathons since the first AGDQ. I've been working on some speedruns as of late; Dr. Mario on the Wii (my fastest time so far is 55:06), Final Fantasy X-2 New Game+ (which needs a lot of work), and Inuyasha and the Secret of the Cursed Mask (horrible game, all anime games are horrible). I hope to get some runs in before the summer or the end of the year.
hi my name is joão(portuguese for the name john) grassini, but here i'm just grassini.I'm from Brazil and i'd like to contribute with speedrun discussions since i dont have recording material besides emulators on the pc...i played many megaman, zelda, sonic games and fighting games like capcom versus snk2 or realbout fatal fury...i've been lurking these forums for a long time and i decided to create an account to be able to discuss with the mighty SDA members strats for our favorite games.
More useful than it ought to be.
Hey all! Been trolling around SDA for a while now. Watching AGDQ and SGDQ finally game me the gumption to hop onto the forums. Been working on an improvement to the Final Fantasy Mystic Quest run and would love to take a stab at Star Ocean the Last Hope. Anyway- see you all on the boards.
Hey everyone, after seeing quite a few speed runs from the site, and having a friend who's really into them here, I decided I should join up. I'm a pretty avid gamer and have played a fair variety of games for most of my life. I love giving myself extra challenges on games that have become too easy for me, so I thought that speed running would be a great next step for several games that I love. I've never attempted it seriously before, but I hope to get better quickly.
Hi everyone! My handle is TheMadNad. My real name is Daniel if you'd prefer that. I was born in 88 and graduated high school in 06. I recently graduated with a bachelors in information technology.

I've been playing video games for as long as I can remember. Unfortunately real life has gotten in the way recently with my job and obligations, but I still love to play when I can and I watch speed runs for entertainment.  I found SDA in high school. I remember a friend showing me a speed run of Mario 3. After that, I googled speed run, and I found this site! I've been obsessed ever since. I check in all the time for new videos.

I joined the community very recently because I realized that very few people around me share my love and obsession with speed runs.  I figured this is the perfect community to talk about speed running, as well as casual gaming and technology. Maybe one day I will attempt a speed run of some of my favorite games. If I had to pick three games that I'd like to complete as fast as possible, it would be Zelda LttP, Pokemon classic, and one of the NES / SNES Final Fantasy games.

Steam ID is TheMadNad if you wanna play valve based games or suggest other multiplayer games.  Or just message me here! Have a good day and happy gaming!
I've been lurking the news and events from SDA for years but after this most recent AGDQ I was made aware of how many of the heroes of mine are actually regularly streaming!  I'm hoping to graduate in a couple semesters from uni and go back to flipping burgers but mostly happy to finally have a new means to enjoy the games I used to love (as well as finding new ones).  I doubt I'll ever run something seriously.  For now I'm just excited to learn new routes and tricks.

Much respect to:  peaches_, Essentia, caracarnvi, Kazooie, Breakdown, Andrewg, Cosmo, Trihex, cyghfer, feasel, duckyfist, mike89, SMK, Carcinogen, Mickey_Mage, Mike Uyama, Trekhaak, Arrow, PJ, and Josh the Funkdoc

Hi! My real name is Julian but you can call me Jullo (Not Julio, as many people do). Anyway, I am glad to find this page as it was just what I wanted to submit my GameBoy Color/Advance Speed Runs, but I must admit I am a beginner yet...
I know that these are very old consoles and it's games looks like.... emmmm, well, anyway, I prefer those games rather than the new ones (don't tell me "why?", because I DON'T KNOW).
Well, HI SDA!!!!

EDIT: I am currently working on a GameBoy Advance (not SP, just the common one) on Pokemon Crystal but I just realised that I don't have a GameCube for recording... Can someone tell me an alternative if there's any? This is ALL I have:

-Nintendo Wii
-Nintendo 3DS
-Nintendo DSi XL
-Playstation 1; 2 and 3 (If you need to know LOL)
-iPod Touch 4G (Also, you should know I've got an iPod)
-PC (YES I HAVE A PC FOR REAL)
-TV (Just a normal and cheap TV)
-Full HD TV with HDMI, USB, and all the other stuff
-GameBoy Advance (The one I'm using)
-ETC...

Thank you!

Howdy,

been popping into several streams the past few months, I have always enjoyed speedruns, especially ones that don't rely on emulators or tools. I am registering on the site because after catching a run tonight, I'm hooked. Like everyone's first post, will hopefuly be looking to contribute some of my own work, if I am not railroaded by life, of course!
