Greetings Everyone!
I first started watching speedruns early this year during AGDQ 2013. I had no idea the scene was so awesome and filled with tons of talented and genuine individuals. Since then, I have been following countless runners doing their thing on twitch and have been thoroughly entertained.
I've been considering jumping into the scene myself for many months now, but have had no idea what kind of game I would like to run. There have only been a few games I have played through multiple times, and I'm not really sure how suitable they are to speedrunning (mainly the Uncharted series). I may look into that later on.
For now, I think my first game I will learn will be Mirror's Edge. It has been one of my favorite games since it came out and I use to play the console version a ton trying to improve my time on the time trials. I'm also a big fan of first-person platforming, which always seems to draw curious glances from people as if I'm crazy and masochistic. Which in fairness, I do consider myself crazy and masochistic when it comes to my gaming habits. Climbing Maps in CS:S (counter-strike:source) and jumping puzzles in general, are my favorite ways to unwind and just chill.
Future games I want to learn how to run are Malicious, a sort of boss arena type game, and Crescent Pale Mist, a doujin action platformer on PSN. They will have to wait until I get some proper HD capture gear for my PS3.
If you are interested in what I would like to run, or have questions for me, I would happily answer them. If you wish to see me in action (when I get it set up) you can find me on http://www.twitch.tv/macexx
I hope I am able to provide some interesting and unique entertainment with my runs. I would love to be able to bring something different to the table to offer a unique or interesting runs to the community. I also hope one day to participate in a marathon and be among the greatest in the scene.
Thank you!
-Mace
