$150 million. Not to mention that it takes like 2 hours to get all the underwater collectables just by themselves.

Isn't toying with stocks is dependant on a functional RGSC server and online connection (and Xbox Live Gold account if on the 360)?

e: The BAWSAQ stock market needs functional online, the regular LCN does not, at least for my PS3. Pulled plug = BAWSAQ says it's under maintenance always. I plugged back in and out again and then once more because I couldn't finish two important photo missions because the stupid thing checks RGSC gallery before letting me take an in-game photo to send to an NPC and during that time all BAWSAQ stock flew up to 100%. Could be a weakness in the system, but maybe it's too much of a modification to allow for a 100% as crazy as it is.

Could all-gold story missions be considered a category?

That's way too punishing of a category for single sitting runs. ~20 minutes into the missions... blast I wasn't accurate enough or didn't get enough headshots. Secondly the final mission gives you 3 choices, the first 2 choices are way shorter than the 3rd choice.

Is there any use of Auto-save warps at all? Probably useful for Segmented runs because the load times for single sitting on console is ridiculous.

The special edition bonus content makes it kinda OP during the first few hours as you get:

Pistol .50
Sub Machine gun,
the Bullpup Shotgun and
the melee Hammer

and all of the mods for those guns FOR FREE

So to follow up on this, it turns out that you don't need to buy everything for 100%. You only need to fulfill certain requirements, like buying any 5 properties. You don't need to do the underwater stuff either. See here for details:

I heard somebody say you could leave Lester's assassination missions until after the final mission. Apparently they are optional. Any other optional story missions? Figuring that out, and also figuring out which heist options are faster would be good first steps to planning a run for this.
I did not do the first Lester assasination mission initially, the one where BetaPharmaceutical will raise in stock prices. But I was definitively blocked to do a heist. Franklin called me as Michael and told me he would need to stall it and first wrap up somthing for Lester. The heist was as far as I remember the one where I had to buy three masks and get the garbage truck. I could prepare the heist, but not execute it

You need to do the Hotel assassination to proceed, I can just about 100% confirm.

There's an underwater briefcase with $25k in it, respawns if you switch and switch back characters, lost the location (west coast), great source of early money if it'll be necessary for a run. I should just finish this game already and save the 100%ing until the last mission is done, I want to see how few missions you really need to do to proceed..
DS Dictator
The final section of the prologue can be skipped easily by just running towards the cops after the sniper cutscene.
Truljin @ Twitch
Played around a bit and noticed some things like when you are scouting the port you can go full speed with the forklift without any problems.

Using the submarine method should be the quickest way, so easy to get it's silly and you don't need to drive it far for the mission to be over.

I managed to do the hotel assassination with the normal rifle as Franklin, guess it's still worth getting a sniper rifle for the next assassinations.

Can you instantly snipe the guy for the By the Book mission?

After Hood Safari i just kept following the coast near the docks, shortly after you should get the mission for the submarine.

Will add more as they pop up in my head.
Anyone looked at splits yet? I have made a list but not sure if it's 100% correct, as I've heard you can do as few as 69 main missions throughout the game.

You can instantly snipe the guy for By The Book, Michael will say he had a hunch and that'll be it.

Trevor..
- Waking up stranded on an island
- Waking up on the mountain
- Being switched to while he's chased by three police cars and a helicopter using his default vehicle
Does he have more than three bad ways to wake up when switched to? I'd switch to him as little as possible to be sure, too time-consuming even when not speedrunning.

As for splits, you can do things in different order, some missions carry different dialogue to reflect upon your choice, then there's the question of which methods of heists are the least time-consuming. I took the interesting approaches.

There's also at least one bad spawn for Michael where he'll be drunk.

In regards to five-property 100%, there's at least one freebie depending on a Franklin spawn, where he walks out of Smoke on the Water, which just so happens to be one of the cheapest properties in the game.

As for endings, I chose ending C on my first playthrough but I'm aware that the other endings are faster.  I'm guessing killing Michael would be the fastest considering his chase scene appears to be shorter and most of his death is skippable cutscenes anyway.

I think you need to do the first Strangers & Freaks mission to continue early on (the first towing mission with Tonya). Then, it looks like you have to do "Chop" and "Daddy's Little Girl" before you can do the first heist. For the latter, you can just shoot the guys off the jet skis right away. I then got a message from Lester to start the heist prep. For the first heist, "Loud" is much faster.

So then you play as Trevor for a few missions. In the sticky bomb mission, once you blow up the trailers, you can die right away and be put right next to the truck. Once you get to Los Santos, you can immediately switch to Michael to start the next mission since he's already at his house (dunno if it always works that way).

Confirming.

Did a trial to see how long long and what was required to I unlock Trevor, like the leaving LS part of GTASA, so this is my path, and my words, as I experiment:

1 - Prologue
2 - Franklin & Lamarr
3 - Simeon 1
4 - Simeon 2
4 - (F) M Boat
5 - (F) ? S&F (Tanya 1) - Switch to M then F if she's not on the map
6 - (F)M ie (M)M - "Marriage Counselling"
7 - (M)L - "Friend request"
8 - (M)L - Heist1 setup (grab suit on the way to Lesters warehouse workshop
9 - (F)F - Chop
10 - (M)M - "Daddy's little girl" with killing the two jetskiers to cut time down massively
11 - (F)M - "The Long Stretch" going in hot with cheapest possible crew + picking up the bag from the one who crashes
12 - (M)H - Getting the heist vehicle which leads directly to the heist
13 - (F)M - "Mr Philips" - Starting up as Trevor, Los Santos done.

After 6 the available missions are (M)M, (F)F and (F)M.  (F)F is the Chop introduction, the Michael missions begin different perspectives of making you owe That Guy a few million dollars. When you get chased by Madrazo's men, you can simply block a road and ambush, take them out on foot, much much easier. Doing this one (Marriage Counselling) opens up Lester.

After doing Chop (put down the brown dog to save time) Daddy's little girl opens up. Really think (F)F "The Long Stretch" is necessary to proceed since it's the ammu-nation tutorial. Will see if we can wait-scum it. Going in hot with the heist = only need to take one step of preparation, so I guess it'll be less than 69 missions done total this way.

If The Long Stretch can be time-scummed to be avoided before the heist that's good time saved, at least before starting out as Trevor. I played this for an experiment clumsily while writing, browsing, eating and taking breaks - 2h50 minutes real life time from the recording. Now to see how it can be optimized. Maybe on a per-drive basis? I used taxis because there's a bunch of driving in this that kinda hurts.

Maybe 2h20 to reach Trevor once optimized? Go to http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/games/gtav/career/missions if you have an RGSC account linked and check out mission paths you've taken, can optimize driving routes via those. I'm going to do some more experiments.

Up to Trevor thoughts after going over the missions with overhead maps again:
Prologue - Stuck on a tight path, no way to veer off or improve besides running towards the cops after the sniping scene for an immediate and peculiar black screen transit to the next cutscene.
Franklin and Lamar - Not really seeing any route improvements that works, how picky will his AI be?
Reposession - Run ahead of Lamar and knock over the hobo to save time, kill the biker rather than going for a long chase, use the special ability to shoot during slo-mo.
Complications - Backdoor entrance between tennis court and pool, no need to stealth-kill the gardener.
Chop - Put down the brown dog to save time, from afar.
Father/Son - Just a case of mastering driving to optimize.
The Long Stretch - Being careful and not dying, can Franklin spare 60 seconds to get top armour from the police building pictured earlier?
Marriage Counseling - Simply not taking on the enemies by car, but on foot behind hard cover.
Friend Request - Route optimization might not be a thing.
Casing the Jewel store - Plain optimization. Can you save time on jumping off the roof? Go with guns blazing, cheapest crew.
Daddy's Little Girl - Killing the jetskiers, save stamina before reaching the biking goal. Can the goal be skipped to by cheating, taking a straighter path?
Heist equipment which leads to The Jewel Store Job - Just one truck, three star, might be tricky if luck is poor. Does it make a difference if you wait until 1 second remains or leaving after having enough? Pick up the bag dropped by the biker who ditches. Time will be saved going with a better transporter ride-getter character since you get better bikes and a partner not getting lost in those tunnels.

Lawyer fees for not helping whatshername cuts Michaels wallet down to like $450 if you ignore her mission to steal the police car and escape. Worth it. Never saw any need for body armour for anything but security for 'The Long Stretch'. I felt that my character switching path was pretty good and comfortable up above, next time I do the run I'll think about it more.

(I will experiment a bunch more. Stay tuned. This is my brain on boredom.)

Updates
-------------------------
Daddy's Little Girl - You don't need to follow any lines to the goal at the pier, just get there on a bike. Plenty of time to save. Also I received the opener for the first heist, after doing Daddys Little Girl this time. Certain time of day?
The Long Stretch - Is not necessary! Cutting this one out my in-game timer from this first test has the total time to reach Trevor at 2h10m
The Jewel Heist - getting the tactical van - needs body armour even if you don't speedrun and wear your health out via stamina doing Daddys Little Girl just beforehand, far too risky to grab the tactical van without it. Suggestion is to drive him to the free top armour by the earlier detailed police building before switching to Franklin.
The Jewel Heist itself - Might have to drop some targets but it's possible to "empty it out" with the cheapest crew. When the weaker member crashes his bike, activate Franklin's slow-motion and drive over the bag, it should get picked up automatically.  Clean Sweep 20/20 and $4.5 million total
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
Race to Trevor sounds like a good sub-goal. Would be interested in seeing some videos, so if anyone find's a youtube/twitch run, please post.

I always did the stealth approach to the jewel heist, does this mean that it is still viable or is going in hard still faster :S

Well, I wanted to test a Trevor run, but it seemed to glitch on me: Lamar never called to unlock the Chop mission. It happens to many players when they get to some point in the game where no mission is available to them. It may have a relation to hanging up the phone sometimes...

2) Tear Gas Grenades

Hacker
Cheap: 60 seconds to steal the jewels
Pricey: 90 seconds to steal the jewels

Gunman:
Cheap: Gunman  crashes before sewers.
Pricey: Gunman does not crash before the sewers.

Driver:
Cheap: Gives you a sports bike, doesn't know the crew were going to sewers.
Pricey: Gives you a sanchez, effective during the sewers segment.

The cheap driver doesn't tell you where to go and Franklin complains about it.

Dumb & Loud method Jewel Heist:

Equipment required: FIB Van containing Carbine rifles.

Pricey: 90 seconds to steal the jewels

Gunman:
Cheap: Does not pay attention to the other NPCs, player needs to sort them out. Gunman also crashes before sewers.
Pricey: Does pay attention and aims at the other NPCs, player can just focus on stealing the jewels. Gunman does not crash before the sewers.

Also, if you take a cheap driver, you have to wait for him in the sewer, even if you know the route.

I never thought about having a shoot-out with them :3

My internet went down hard and long until this morning so here:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Second test run of "reach trevor ASAP", cutting out "Long Reach" completed in 1h50m. Will be optimized nicely by using taxis more and having better luck, Simeon refused to text me the intial quest for so long I had to reload an auto-save where Franklin was working out at the beach. Underlined = thoughts of possible improval.

01 prologue
Wait for the cops to park and get out before running towards them after the sniper scene or it's going to fail you, no way to drive faster so stick to the road.

02 franklin&lamar
Always choose the white car, red has too loose grip. (Can any path be shortcut, how picky is Lamars AI?)

03 simeon1
knock over the hobo before the scene with Lamar triggers and slows you down, the largest garage door is always right, and shoot the biker to end it early

04 simeon2
Approach the house from between poolside and tennis court from the back, no need for stealth? M talks until "work something out", then you can ram the window. (Maybe you can approach while he talks?)

05 F to M - boating incident
Just drive well really, and shoot

06 F ? Tanya
One simple towing mission and she's done, just try to suffer with that painful character

07 F to M for counselling
Get out on foot and shoot the pursuers while still in the hills housing area, using pillars for protection, they're going to pop cars and slam into cars if you use cars for cover. (Can be optimized, shoot-out by M's house?)

08 M L friendrequest
Piece of cake frankly.

09 M L heist setup
Pick up armour on the way from the police station garage and nice clothes. (Can time be saved when leaving the roof? If a shoot-out for the van taking is faster, armour might not be necessary.)

10 F Chop
Pop the brown dog when you have the chance to save a bunch of time, scripted chase.

11 M DaddysLittleGirl
Just bike straight for the pier top and ride up the stairs, save stamina for the swimming which takes forever otherwise, don't race your jetski - just sit and shoot. (When regaining control of Michael after the mission he's at the end of the pier so takes a while to run to the nearest vehicle, but it is enough time to get a text from Lester about the tactical van. Can Chop be done between DaddysLittleGirl and TacticalVan+Heist to save time?)

12 M Steal the tactical van >>> The Jewel Store Heist
should have armour left on your body, that will help a damn lot. Hide in the loop of subway tunnels around the groove street area to lose the cops easiest. Heistwise, choose a good gunner to save money maybe. Use Franklin specials to stay safe (run over the moneybag to pick it up while on your bike). For speedrunning only the transporter quality matters, needs to be good here to save a bunch of time in the tunnels. (can be further optimized and tested, this. Not losing a cheap gunman due to bike crash = no casualty money lost OR time, 60 seconds is enough time to steal the jewels you need though. So I say good gunner, good gunman, cheap hacker if money matters, seems to make no difference if you leave early with a good hacker.)

1h53m long video, Mike 58m52s, Franklin 47m16s, Trevor 4m21s. PS3 BR version.

You can just get out of cover and run away from the cops in the prologue. Also, I was able to jump off the roof after taking the photo. You can jump to a balcony on the left and then jump again to the street. Very little damage.

Edit: Also, there's a bike on the end of the pier after Daddy's Little Girl.
