According to Rockstar, these are the requirements for 100% completion. It's good to point out that Michael and Trevor's Freaks and Strangers missions are not required
soooo........ anyone want to race soon? i wanna try scheduling a race that has more than 3-4 people. would be nice to get all the people currently running for one big race. if anyone is interested let me know.
For the Gauntlet missions, I don't think you need the Gauntlets on the map, you can just buy all three and Franklin's garage. Not sure if the travel time reduction is worth it.

i looked into this not too long ago actually. depending on the order you get the gauntlets and which character you have. the first two gauntlets are faster by getting them outright in my opinion.  the last one is debatable. you could buy the last gauntlet with franklin and get it at the grove or you can kill yourself after the 2nd gauntlet and get the 3rd by cutting distance dramatically. all depends how fast you can navigate menus.. with either scenario though, your depending on car rng  though. i think buying the 3 gauntlets would be more viable for any%.
Also, all collectibles should be collected in one go, except for those between or during missions. I think that the under the bridge zones can be got with helicopters, this might make it easier or harder...

Question is, is the final mission needed for anything except for finishing the game?
Also, do you need to do the final mission for anything else for 100%, or can you end the run with the final mission (as appears customary for 100% runs)? I know that the heist money from the first heist (about 900k for Michael, 300K for Franklin, and 125K for Trevor starting off) is enough to buy five properties, and for the car purchasing thing, you could buy a Gauntlet for the final heist prep, and get two birds with one stone.

The original document for this game was outdated, I took the liberty of uploading it to my Google Drive so it can be kept up to date, we are currently in the works of making sure that at least Classic% is up to date.

Is there any difference between any% and low% for this game?
Truljin @ Twitch
As far as I know no ones actually looked at low% and what it would involve.
I know that any% results in 47.6% doing all story missions except for the last Lester missions, as well as that one strangers and freaks mission. I've heard that The Long Stretch is skippable, though.

What about the optional missions given to Michael by his family?
Do those count as part of the 69 missions?

long strech is needed to activate merryweather heist

you mean the phone calls? if so, those are all skippable
Yes, they're skippable, but do they count to 100%?

I haven't done a single one in my 100% runs.
Someone up for a FULL run finally?

Hello everyone,

While I do not run this game currently, if it ever comes to PC I would like to. My issue right now is with the definition of classic%, while most of the rules have been agreed upon (see this thread), the option of having to do the good ending in Classic% or being able to do one of the other two (Where you kill off a playable character) was not included

Here is a link to a poll, I'd like to hear your thoughts on the matter http://www.pollmojo.com/poll-20040.html

I personally think it should be required to have to get the best ending, as killing off a Protagonist in the story with another has never happened in any other GTA game ever

Thanks for your time

if killing another character has never happened in other GTA games then classic% should not have the characters special abilites since it was never in other gta games too taking away the so called "classic" feel.
Also, it is too easy to accidentally use the ability, unless you mod the game to disable it.

I am planning to speedrun the game too. This will be my 1st game for that :). For know i watch vids, other people strats and splits, doing research on my own etc. Routing can be quite hard, so many things to combine together. Cheesy

Where can i found rules for trevor%, floyd% etc % run categorys. So basically any% run is the only one where taxis and mission skips aren allowed, i am i right?

No that's Classic% which uses the rules very similar to the PS2-Era GTA games (no Taxi warping & Fail the mission many times to skip a section).
So is there a place to find all these rules, because i want to try any% for GTA V since nobody is doing it. From what i have found, you can use taxis, skip section of a mission.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
any% just means do anything that saves time.
Any% means get to the end of the game by whatever means necessary (except for cheat codes). All you really need to do to route any% is look at the classic% route and figure out on what checkpoints you can kill yourself to save time. I'd be interested to see exactly how much faster any% would be.

I am routing it now and almoust done. I asked that because if anything is allowed then dying on purpose to skip sections of a mission is allowed too , i am looking into that because you can save more then hour. From my testing so far. 8:17 for WR is way too low and since nobody is running it, somebody got to doo something :D:D. I will try atleast. With skips + taxis + nailing missions its possible to get below 7 hours, if not 6:30. I lack the skill, thats my biggest problem so far.

Its so hard to get mission structure right in couple places, i still make some small corrections every few days. I dont have a capture card either so after i buy one i will try to do a full run.
