As far as I'm aware there's no recording of the WR. I believe you need an account (which is free) on Nico to access their communities.
Hope rides alone.
well then u cant technically say hes the wr holder if its not proven... a picture of a final save e.g. can be faked...

what was his time on the live stream? and was that live stream recorded?
Speed is all that matters.

That made me laugh.

Smorkun got 6:17 in the race. No clue about Nyanspring's or any of the other's time.

He is the WR holder, you should trust the Nico records wiki, they don't mess about Smiley Besides; his race time was just shy of 6 hours after showing off at the end by summoning Alexander during Orphan 2, watching the entire summon/gestalt cutscene then using the finisher only to die and retry the fight xD

After getting a good look at the Nico guys runs I've revised a lot of Chapter 12 and 13 resulting in a good amount of odd changes from chapter 7 and on so I've updated the notes and uploaded them on dropbox
https://www.dropbox.com/s/4wcenjrorg3o0xs/Final%20Fantasy%20XIII%20Speedrun%20Route%20mark%203.zip

The awesome thing I've learned from Haruyan and Smorkun's runs is that you can use all the characters but Snow is really interesting and effective ways. Smorkun uses Lightning lead all through Chapter 12 abusing Zantetsuken's Death effect and Haruyan uses Hope lead all through Chapter 12 to the end abusing the massive power of Last Resort.
These are all in all slower strats due to the amount of investment you have to make in more than 3 characters while only having comparable fight times, but they're certainly awesome ideas, I'd love to learn strats for all the characters to be able to pull out as donation incentives or for fun. These strats are all a good bit more consistent than the ones we were using though so there was a lot to learn from that. Much of my route updates are based around keeping the run consistent and reducing deaths due to RNG such as Debuffing, Orphan 1, Bart 2 and ProudClad 2.

I wish I knew anything about Gamefaqs to host my .txt files ar a FAQ, their Speedrun guide by Anakin REEEAAALLY needs updating!
Contributing on Gamefaqs is pretty straight forward.  Go to http://www.gamefaqs.com/contribute/.  In the "Contribution Documentation" section check out the formatting guide http://www.gamefaqs.com/features/help/entry.html?cat=28.

Once you have it formatted just go to the "Submit a File" link(http://www.gamefaqs.com/contribute/submit_file.php).

The only caveat is that you say there is already a speed run guide.  Sometimes they will reject additional guides on the same subject for In-Depth FAQs.  I don't remember if there is comment box to explain how dated the current one is/the current author isn't updating but if it does get rejected there should be a way for you to appeal.

Thanks for the help, I'll check it out tomorrow after I've slept, all my concentration is set on keeping my eyes open for AGDQ haha.

Today I PB'd FFXIII by over an hour putting me at 6:51:59. I'm very happy to be a part of the sub 7 club but I still have some ways to go.

Congrats DRsynj!
1-Up!
That's awesome. Would be great to have FFXIII represented on our game list.

Hey all, I got a 6:28:12 RTA if anyone is interested; uploaded at:

Managed a 6:14:35 RTA on stream last night dying to Orphan 2 three times XD.  Still hoping to get sub 6 recorded

Good stuff!  I'll have to give that a watch sometime before the FF marathon.
SDA Apprentice -- (3-1)
Now this is going to be exciting.  Sometime this year, we are going to hopefully get that speed run for Final Fantasy XIII on SDA.  Best of luck if you are planning on cutting it down even more.
Zoning what is your stream channel?

It's http://twitch.tv/zoning1138
Just thought I would post here a trick that people may not know about, I have been calling it the camera trick.  Basically it takes advantage of "if I can't see you, you can't see me."  Pointing the camera at the ground delays reaction time by enemies and for those mobs where they spawn outside of their encounter zone, you can use this trick to skip the mob entirely.  An example from chapter 2 is below:

As a side note, what time should I be looking to get if I were to submit to SDA?  I would like to get a WR recorded but I like streaming and don't have the capacity to (at the moment at least) stream and record.  Thanks for any help.
I'm the keeper of Time.
Since there's no existing time, any would likely be acceptable, but I'd shoot for 6:15 or lower. Then again, if you want a world record, feel free to hone your craft. I'm sure verifiers wouldn't mind waiting for an immaculate run.
Reverse Death Valley Bomb
No deaths or nothing >:
Also you need sub 6 RTA! it's like the FFXIII coming of age, SDA wouldn't be right without it Tongue

I would like sub 6 RTA but that will not be happening, no deaths will probably be my criteria.  That would be low 6 hours anyway.

If you want to try and record sub 6 be my guest, I don't have the time to commit to it besides blindly hoping I get lucky.

Edit: Nevermind, can't record in quality that will be good enough for SDA.  So get to it everyone ^^

Did you do something to the notes DR? The link keeps going to a generic "deleted or moved" page
So what is the WR for the NA version, anyone know? I've started to work on this myself. I'm just curious. Is there a recording of the WR as well?

I might add that I'm now updating the notes semi-regularly, fixing spelling mistakes or clarity in some fight descriptions. I post update notifications on my Twitter @DRsynj
Triggerlily informed me that I was using the wrong version of the notes last night XD soo.... guess I should check regularly for updates heyÉ
