Final Fantasy X HD Remaster

After completing a run, this version will add 15 minutes to the estimate. I leave the decision of which version to run up to the organisers (if this game is even chosen). I would prefer to play the original but I understand the HD release might attract more viewers.
You can never run enough games
Super Mario Galaxy: Did a lot of runs this week in preperation for the 3D Mario Relay race. I got a couple of PBs, and even PB'd in the Relay race with a time of 2:53:02. Still not happy with my times, and I know I can get sub-2:50 easily and soon. (Original Submission time: 3:02:45, Original Estimate: 3:10:00, Current PB: 2:53:02 (-1:29), New Estimate: 3:00:00)

Super Mario Galaxy 2: I did one run of this game only this week, as I was focusing on Super Mario Galaxy. Again, I didn't PB, and I haven't for quite a while now, which is making less motivated to practice it to be quite honest. (Original submission time: 4:44:43, Original Estimate: 4:10:00, Current PB: 3:52:25 (+-0), New Estimate: 3:50:00)

Ty the Tasmanian Tiger: Got my NTSC copy this week, and on my first run using it I got a PB by 7 minutes, and it was a pretty sloppy run overall. I can easily save time over my current PB by a lot. Link to PB Video: http://www.twitch.tv/mlstrm/c/3923971 (Original Submission Time: 2:06:10, Original Estimate: 1:45:00, Current PB: 1:17:32 (-6:21), New Estimate: 1:20:00)

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption: Got a few runs in this week, and my current PB is now about 2 minutes faster than last week, with an easy 2:30 time save on a single trick that I need to grind out. Happy with how this is going atm. (Original Submission Time: 4:03:44, Original Estimate: 4:00:00, Current PB: 3:34:05 (-1:57), New Estimate: 3:45:00)

Happy with how MP3/SMG/Ty are going, but not so happy with my progress in SMG2 recently, althought I'm not enjoying working on it atm. Hopefully next week I should break 2:50 in SMG, 1:15 in Ty and 3:30 in MP3. Also, I will hopefully get a new PB in SMG2.

Done some heavy practicing and running and improved my PB by about 2 minutes since the last update here, Alot of consistency rather than timesave really, and I will now focus more on finding new strategies that might save me some time

Don't worry I'm still practicing Smiley

I'm currently busy with A-Level exams and changes at my workplace but I hope I can upload a full run as soon as possible!

Alright I got a new PB today, and it's 20 minutes faster than my old one. http://puu.sh/7GTE6.png

If I don't die I can easily get sub 1:40, but that might be hard to get consistently. Worst case scenario I might have to up the estimate to 1:50 or something.
Okami HD - New Game+ - Any

Grand Theft Auto Vice City

got a new PB like "promised"
the time is now 1:33:33 which is a decent time
i also have to emphasise that all the runs i did in the last few days were basicly no reset runs and the times were around 1.36 or lower.
i feel confident about being able to pull off a 1.36 or faster run at ESA without any problems. Even if the RNG is not quite on my side.

I found a crappy controller somewhere in the house and did some practicing on emulator yesterday (still no console here). Started doing runs a few hours ago and just got a 30:16 with my sum of bests being pushed down to 28:42.

Notes: lost about half a minute in the end dying to swim in air. Also, this run would have been around 40-45 seconds faster on console since FDS is faster than emulator (OP load times are OP)

EDIT: expect this to go lower since I'm not happy with that swim in air Wink

Dishonored Any% - Me and Virrward want to race each other. I have already put myself in for Dishonored, so is this a possibility. And if not can Virrward take my place if we aren't racing ?

If he can't that's totally fine im still perfectly ok to run.

My PB - 38:45

His PB - 37:38
Silent hill 2

After reading some forums, I discovered that I can save about 45 seconds off my PB because if you hold the "sprint" key when you are rowing your boat, James rows faster. Kinda angry now that I am only discovering this :p. so my run should be around the 56 minute mark soon.
Ocarina of Time

Did my first mst run, ended up with a 2:54:46 with a terrible run because I didn't know the route and did a miss-reset. easily sub 2:30 next run.
Been doing a lot of offline Sonic Colours IL's the past few days. You can check out the times of Sweet Mountain and Starlight Carnival here: http://www.soniccenter.org/members/timpz/sonic_colors_wii

I'll continue to improve my IL's for a bit then try to do runs this weekend since I'm usually exhausted after work.
Super Mario 64: 120 Star

New pb 1:49:51(N64). I finally broke the barrier, my goal time before esa will be 1:47:xx

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII

Improved my time by quite a bit since I suggested the game for ESA. Current time is 2:34:17.

I will start doing practice with the route that includes the superboss for the donation incentive, soon.

Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles

I talked to a japanese runner and another english runner to discuss some things about 4p co-op route. So far we came up with some decent strategies to adapt from single player routes onto 4p routes. However, there's obviously still some things that need testing, etc. So once I can setup my emulator with several GBAs I can give more concrete updates about the 4p co-op.

As far as practice goes I started de-rusting a couple days ago and had a run that went up to -9:30 at some points but then choked in the end. That was also the first run where I didn't load off of an SD card so it's good to see that there's a bunch of time to save over my old PB from that alone.

Digimon World (Glitched)
There honestly isn't much to practice here until shortly before the event. There's no new strategies or anything so I will leave this one alone until shortly before the event (if it's still in the marathon at that point).
We did another run of Titan Quest and got 1:44 at the end of act 3 (submitted category) and 2:22 at the end of act 4, 2 minutes off the record. It was supposed to be only a quick test so the beginning of act 1 was really messy and the only reason we finished the run unlike we originally intended was because some of the new ideas worked and we got really good shoe shopping luck*. Oh and we lost like 4 minutes in act to by forgetting to activate a fairly important portal so I had to do most of the act alone while Ariwa was running through a previous area again. We also didn't use one of the early game strats because I didn't feel like torturing myself physically for the sake of a test run.

*The only random item we need is a pair of shoes that give a 8%-24% passive buff to running speed. Usually we don't bother with anything lower than 18%  and most of the time we run into something like that well before act 3 and the longest running sections. In this test run we got a 23% buff about half way through act 1 which is probably the second best luck we've ever had. We'll probably try doing a test run to see what would happen with the worst possible shoe shopping luck, it's probably not that critical because we also get a bunch of speed buffs from the skill trees.
nope
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island

As of today, my new pb is 1:47:18. This is the fourth best time in the any% warpless category. Very happy with this time but going for 1:46:xx.

New PB. 6:37:26.
http://www.twitch.tv/baffan/c/3949821

Phew. So many things has happened these last days... Where should I begin?

With the ToS crew, we always thought about an alternate route that involve rebuilding a town in the middle of the run, in order to buy better weapons earlier. The problem was that it cost 3 to 4 minutes loss to rebuild it so we never thought it would be worth, but we were curious about trying.

We made a first test run, but we didn't see a real improvement Convinced it could be a better strategy, and because I needed to train for ESA, I decided to do a derust run with a new savefile before each boss using the new weapons in order to train them.

The other runners watched my derust run carefully, in order to analyze the new route. And in the end, there are plenty of things which we had not thought of:
- Presea's weapon gives her a big boost against humans, which are numerous in the second half of the game.
- Sheena's new weapon gives her so much Luck that her ability to allow the group to dodge fights, which relies on Luck, works nearly everytime now. So we don't need to use items that repel monsters anymore.
- With these weapons, we don't need other equipment. So no more time spent menuing after that point.
- New Weapons are so powerful when we get them that they suppress a very high amount of RNG in the fights. A fight that was between 20 and 35 seconds before is now between 15 and 20 seconds. And when we had the worst RNG in the fights, they were 30 or 35 seconds. Now even if the fight have the worst RNG, it is only 20 seconds, so it is more reliable.

In the end, we save 50 to 70 seconds in fights, and more than 2 minutes because of less menuing and no need to grab items. So we save a little bit of time and the fights are more reliable. And with more training, it appears that we can save even more time with those strats. So they are really worth it.

And so with all the motivation from those new strats, I made several runs, but I was so rusty that none of my runs were good. Until today. I had a decent run, and I have now a new PB.

Besides, I play on a Gamecube and the other runners play on a Wii. The Wii makes all the loading screens faster, and in a 6hours+ run, it can save entire minutes. That means I can save something like 3 minutes just from of that. And I can clearly save many more minutes on my PB. So sub 6h30 is a realistic goal for me for the moment, and we think sub 6h25 is clearly possible with a lot of training.
Viewtiful Joe: Recently got a PB of 38:24, highlighted it here http://www.twitch.tv/fergbot/c/3952584. I'd like to get it down to a 36 or lower before ESA.

Got a time sub 40 minutes, which was the first really arbitrary goal for me: Twitch VOD
Especially level 5 and 6 felt extremely bad and throughout the whole run there's a lot of micro optimization that can be done, so expect another update fairly soon.

Final Fantasy VII

I was having my first run with the safe route in a long time and ended up getting a 2:54:57. It was quite an unlucky run as I died to Ultimate Weapon twice and had to reset during the Source Duplication twice as well. I did not get the optional characters but I will do that next time. Doing so should add 10-15 minutes at most.

EDIT:
I included getting Yuffie and Vincent and got a 3:04:19 in an unlucky-to-average run.

Super Return of the Jedi
I've been playing RotJ a couple of time during the last week. Found a new timer saver, improved my SoB with a couple of seconds. My runs are solid, clocking in at around 30 minutes most of the time. (PB is 28:24).

World of Illusion
Beat my PB with Donald last week. I think it was a 6 second improvement over an already solid run.

PBed again, 2:28:17, more than a 10 minute improvement: http://www.twitch.tv/slask2prask/c/3957202
Using a slightly different early game route that shows off a n64 exclusive trick, and it only costs 19 seconds, I'm gonna do some more timing on that and develop another strat to make it not that slow. I can see a sub 2:20 comming in soon, but due too n64 lag it's gonna be hard to get a sub 2:15

[edit: my route is 11 seconds slower]
