Run complete.

I need to append all the crap together, and compress.. I'll update this post for length and stuff.

Video, including all loading screens, and last cutscene is 54:33.
I was starting to think it was going to hit an hour. Some of the levels are downright long feeling.
I was hoping for, in the beginning around 40 minutes tops, but given my situation with my comp acting up, and low fps alot of the time, I guess I did ok.
I don't really like the ending, and was thinking about not even recording it lol.

Soon as it's done compressing (HQ, then NQ, I'll post the file sizes.

I'm testing Filefront out with the NQ one.. If I can do it with no problems, then I'll upload the HQ one.

I'm still going to submit it here.

NQ seemed to go without a hitch.. No errors or anything..

I just began the HQ upload, and will post a link to it when I get back home.. Should be done in something like 4 hours.

Heh. I would have went alot farther up the mountain, but got sidetracked, by two females..
IT's funny, I didn't even realize they were hitting on me until the point where I would have looked like an ass if I said something back.

When Me, and my friend were headed back down to see if we would happen to pass by them again, we found them resting.. They gave me a digi cam, and asked me to take pictures of them...

Considering it wasn't my cam, and I wasn't going to ask them to email me the pics, I don't have them.. My friend did take pics of them though..

Soon as we got down to where the cars were, my friend comes out with "Do you have an email address".. I just looked at him stupid.
She said she had one as she got into her car and left lol..
If I would have asked for anything, it would have been a phone number lol.. I just kept my mouth shut so I didn't look like a dumbass.

As for the run.. The damn thing timed out.. I'll try again, but it's going to take another 3-4 hours.

It timed out again, but it shows it's still there.
I'm trying to download it now to see if it even works.
Chances are, It'll give everyone the same problem.
Gonna see if I can get ahold of radix, and submit it.

If you're able to download the run off filefront, you might notice it being a little more fuzzy looking then usual.. It's either my eyes are going bad, or something screwy is going on..

It's at the exact same settings as the other run, so I don't know wtf. The NQ quality is set a tiny bit higher, but it didn't make a huge differencing when encoding.. The quality might be a bit bettter though...

A good run. I wouldn't call it a great run because there were some moments where you just weren't on par with your doom3 run.

It looks to me like you were trying to conserve your shotgun ammo by switching to the single-barrel when facing an enemy that can be taken down in 1 shot. The problem is that were a lot of moments when you missed, and ended up taking 2 shots anyways, losing time. And you weren't even close to running out of ammo at the end of your run, I saw around 100 shells left. I think I'm correct in saying you were trying to conserve shotgun ammo, because you only discovered the power of the flashlight halfway through your run.

Also, I felt that you could use Helltime more often. However I'm just guessing here, maybe you had a reason not to. It's just that there were plenty of corpses that you left untouched.

Still, it's good as a first run.

Oh yeah.. the flashlight kills were great. Grin

Very nice run. I'd have to agree with ballofsnow and say that your Doom3 run was better, but it still looks very good. Nice work with the quad flashlight too Smiley

Actually, I think he used the normal shotgun because it has a shorter reload time than the double barrel one. It looked to me that he switched to the double barrel shotgun when he could get an opponent with one shot with that gun. Otherwise he would use the normal shotgun. But Apathy is the only one who knows why he used what gun when Smiley

Actaully, I was trying to "conserve" ammo, but I also didn't expect to have over 30 shells when I was done, let alone 100.
The double barreled shot gun takes too long to reload. What screwed me up was missing so many critical shots. Other times I killed when I didn't really have to.
If you saw my first doom3 run, it was 25 minutes slower.. If I do another run on RoE, I'll have a better comp, and be able to react better when I'm not running in slideshow mode. Therefore, have a better time, and look a little better.

As for hell time.. It would have required me to stop. and wait for the relic to charge itself.. Much faster just to run by them, and only grab when it's needed.
I only started using the flashlight halfway through because if I used it before then, I would have to sit there for 5 minutes beating down guys. You only get slow motion when you get the heart, not until halfway through does it really provide any use, other then not getting overloaded with demons.

In short, I was limited by my hardware.

Shotgun.. When I first played this game a couple months ago, I found myself short of ammo. I wasn't expecting to even have 20 when I was done with the game..
There are a bunch of spots that I screwed up on because I was sinking to about 5 FPS, which made it a whole lot harder.

I guess you can also say history repeats itself.
I first played Doom3 when it first hit shelves.. I then decided to speed run it almost a year later.. Now, I forget most of the stuff in a game if I haven't played it in so long.. When I started running it, I was also replaying it level by level so I could figure out where I was supposed to go again.

I then redid the run with it all fresh in my head, so I did a way better job.

RoE is pretty much the same thing. I'm not going to redo it though until I get better hardware so I don't have the same problems as I did this time.

IMO the first half of the run, wasn't anything worth writing about, the second half is when it gets interesting.
How many times do you have to hit an Imp with a flash like without quad damage?
When you figure that out, it's no different in slow motion. When you beat the boss that adds berserk to your relic is when you get 1 hit kills. Same with fist, but fists don't have light coming out of it.

EDIT- with Doom3 I also had other runs to get ideas for shortcuts and what not.. I stated that in the comments.

Just so you know, I'm not trying sound rude in this post.. I'm actually happy that people commented on it, so I know people watched it.

If I ever get done with farcry (pain in the ass Easymode=bullshit) I really hate to see what that game is like on the hardest.

As for RoE. Maybe the slow motion in the beginning could be put to better use..
I can already think of some ways it could have helped more then not using it, but I would def have to time the way it's used.

If Berserk is the same as in Doom3 then the flashlight/fist does 200 times the damage it would normally do. but you only get Berserk after the 2nd boss.
Its no use before.
