I might grab this from PSN for PS3. It's on sale now for like $11.

I saw a series of videos on YT where someone managed to get an enemy to push him through a gate but I didn't really understand what was going on as I haven't even played the game yet.

Hey zero shift just make sure you buy the ultimate/gold edition of the game because dlc is necessary for speedrunning the director's cut version. One thing the skip that spookycookies found. Is for now not useful for speedrunning because it has no real setup and is just random if it's works or not. You could do it in an segmented speedrun but for single segment it's just to far in the run. I mean i'm looking forward to see that someone makes sequence breaks in this game consistence.

Only by the PC version. By the console there are to different version one with all dlc and one without maybe this is change now because it's awhile the last time i checked.

Ok, the one I've bought doesn't include DLC but at that low price I don't care. There's another version on PSN called Gold Edition which includes everything for $39.99. Not paying that right now. I just want to experience the game.

I'm not going to be running this, but I will be on the lookout for glitches. Why is the DLC necessary? Wouldn't that be a separate category anyway?

In my opinion it would make no sense to make a separate category for this. Because the route through the game is exactly the same with or without dlc. So the run would just take longer without dlc but has no difference in executing. And you not need all the dlc you just need the green drifter car and the field ops suit. Both can by buyed for 1,19€ and 1,75€ in the german store. I think this is not much to ask when you want speedrunning this game. I have buyed this game 8 times just to find the best version.

I think the run was okay. A few mistakes here and there. In autopsy report the run was clearly dead for me. But I was going on. Then bad rng in lumbermill, fishing, Thomas and Kaysen fight. Lost around 90sec just because of bad rng. I mean the Thomas fight was not just rng. But this run could at least sub 3:39h. Whatever. It should be possible for sub 3:37h. For now I switch to 100%(even more rng). Until I get sub 7h.

Don't suppose you have a full run guide on the run? With there being no information on others speedrunning this i want to know why you're going for certain side quests at the start, also driving routes and QTE's Tongue

I've actually started writing out a step by step from your WR, I keep writing out a section then running through learning the route, making good time so far 5 chapters in. I play on DC though so it's a bit easier

Searching 'Deadly Premonition' only brings up the Director's Cut and Gold edition. I tried searching the names of one of the DLCs but that led back to the Gold edition.

Okay this is very weird. So the only thinks i found was some avatar shit. But no DLC? I also locked in the store from Australia and there you can find all of them. I don't understand why New Zealand has it not in the store. When every other store seems to have it?!

first cool that you write a step by step guide. I hope i can link it on Speedrun.com so other could use it. Second when you play the DC version. The route is different because of the difficulty. You don't need to make the Lily Sidequest in the Milk Barn to get the Guitar. First of all you need the Field Ops suit DLC. This increases the damage on normal enemy's by three. Second you need the Green Drifter Car DLC this makes some driving parts shorter. I now that we could do a separate category for not using dlc but in the PC version the dlc is included. Now you could say PC version is also a separate category because better Framerate and loading times. But i thing. Why should someone watch an run that is 30 minutes slower? When both version a using the same route! Even when you not use the dlc i mentioned. I don't want to have a situation like in Resident Evil 4 where every version has it own WR just because someone is not willing to spent money. I for myself have bought this game 8 times just to find the ríght version.

But enough about that. Returning to the route difference. Or not i just realise that maybe grabbing the guitar is even in this version faster. It's over a year i ran the DC. Now i'm not sure anymore. I really must test this. But i want get the 100% run finished before i go back to DC.

Wrote out what you do per chapter so now i can get to the running, i played this game quite a lot anyway so hopefully doesnt take too long to remember it all, the only thing that has been screwing me over is the driving, the car acts so fucking sporadic its unreal! I can see many runs being killed! Cheesy

Yeah driving in the dc version is beautiful. But i lose most of the runs because of rng chapter 8 must start with sun. Chapter 11 the kids must be at the community center. Chapter 17 fishing. Thomas fight is annoying as hell. Kaysen fight when he just decides not to smack his fist down. And so many shit that is happening in the last two years i'm running this game. "That's never happen before the game". Whatever good luck for your runs!

It says "Downloadable content to expand the mystery beyond the original game". but does it mean that DLC is available or that it comes with this version?

The DLC isn't on the NZ store. I think we share the same one as AU and UK because we all use PAL.

If I bought the Gold Edition, which includes all DLC, would the DLC work if I put in the Director's Cut on disc? Seems the only way to get the DLC is through the Gold Edition.

Hey zero, i wasn't sure anymore so i checked it. No the dlc is not on the disc. But when the dlc is installed you can use it with the disc or the download version. I'm still confused that the dlc is not sold separately on your store.

Ok, downloaded the gold edition.

It offers all the DLC as separate downloads along with the director's cut. I already bought DC in the last sale so I don't need it again. This is exactly what I hoping for.

Where is the first point in the game I can use any of the DLC? I'm not planning to start just yet but wanted to check that it's working.

After installing the dlc there is an option in the main menu where you can choose which suit and car you want to use. Also the first point where you can use the dlc cars is chapter 2. There is a "Gold Flare" in your inventory. Use this to get the car.

Thanks. Yes I saw the selection when I started last night but didn't know how to get the cars.

I haven't used the gold flare yet and was wondering what that was because I have regular flares as well and they both have the same description of calling a patrol car. Is the gold flare a one time use or can I use it to call a DLC car whenever I want?
