I'm sorry to inform that i have made the decision to back out of C4L this year. I have just started a new job so my gaming time has been severely reduced. Taking time off is also questionable and since it's a government union job, is probably not going to happen within my first 3 months. Also, lufia 2 is a pretty involved speedrun, and i dont feel i could do it justice within the time frame.

That's a shame Obda, you'll be missed.
Talk to the Hand
Nooooo, truly Obda Nobunaga's Ambition has been crushed. ;_;

In all seriousness though, congrats on the new job Obda. Would've loved to see Lufia II at C4L, but non-marathon stuff comes first.
Kupo!

Sad Sad Sad Sad Grats on the job but man... I wish I could've gotten to hang out with you again!
Fucking Weeaboo
My plan to get even with you for beating my Rockman 7 run is going to plan...*COUGH COUGH* I mean, sorry you can't make it man. Good luck with the new job.

If we need yet another game I've been learning Ys Origin on the side.

Ys Origin
System: PC/Steam
Estimate: Toal/The Claw(2:10:00) Yunica(2:45:00)
Currently know just Toal because he's the fastest and has the most skips, but I could probably try and learn Yunica too for a bid war. The only problem with that is Yunica and Toal are pretty large time differences since Toal can clip through doors and Yunica can't. Toal would be like 2:10 for safety and Yunica would be like 2:45? I'm not sure about Yunica as I need to put more time into her. The only real donation incentive would be character choice.
Kupo!
So I'd rather give priority to anyone who had offered a game that got cut in prior rounds, but if we need a little tiny time filler in schedule I'd like to offer up...

Dragon Fantasy Book (Intermission M Storyline)
System: PS3
Estimate: 15 minutes
Info: A silly little indie RPG that pays a bit of a tribute to the old NES-era RPGs (Like FF1/2/3, Dragon Quest. Literally, even down to the graphic style), Intermission M is the final "story" in the game that has a Minecraft "plot" if you could call it that. The game is fairly well built for speed - there's literally one dungeon, I can get the best weapon extremely early by just hitting a couple walls, making it, and can then bonzai the final boss.
There aren't really any incentives for the game.

I guess other than Dark Cloud which is still on offer, I could also do Ultima once I smooth out a few snags in the current route.

Ultima
System: PC/DOSBox
Estimate: 45 minutes
Info: Pretty much the forerunner of every other RPG in this and the previous marathon. Mostly a simple game, hilarious graphics, first-person space combat section (???), fun all round. No incentives.
Duh, I forgot to note the Naming setup for Soul Blazer. It's 8 characters max, Upper case, lower case, numbers and a period all options for use.
Everything's better with Magitek
Priority should be given to others since I already have two games, but if we need to fill even more time, I could offer:

Lightning Returns: FFXIII
System: PS3
Estimate: 3 hours
Info: The last game in the FFXIII trilogy, but the battle system and gameplay are completely different from the other two. For example, leveling up comes from completing quests, not from battling monsters. There's also a persistent clock that counts down to the end of the world (kind of like Majora's Mask), and certain things can only be accomplished at certain times of day. I'm already working on a route for this game, so I could definitely have it ready in time for C4L.
As for incentives, you can name Lightning's chocobo as well as the three schemata (kind of like paradigms in the previous games) used during battle, and there are lots of options for choosing what Lightning wears. Since the garbs affect your stats/abilities, I'd have to limit the choices; I have the Cloud and Yuna garbs that were offered as preorder bonuses, which could make good bidding war candidates. You can also change the colors of the garbs (my 5-year-old changed the colors on the Cloud one to make it look more like a clown costume) and add adornments such as hats, flowers, mustaches, etc.

You should get moogle outfit because... its a moogle outfit.
Fucking Weeaboo
I was gonna offer something else, but I'm throwing my support behind Lightning Returns. That game is the game XIII and XIII-2 SHOULD have been.
Sadly, it looks like I will also not be able to attend Sad

It's very likely that I'll be undergoing some big changes in my life soon involving employment and residence.  It would be unwise for me to take time off until I've settled down, so I'm going to play it safe and keep my cards close.  Sadly, I may have to do the same for SGDQ, but we'll see.

Sorry for letting you all down, hopefully you'll find a way to fill my empty space.

Best of luck, C4L.

Sad

OK, who cast Doom on our party?
sda loyalist
This sounds like the perfect time to say that there is a chance that Emily and I won't be able to attend, either.

Emily's able-to-stay-in-England Visa is running out soon, so we're in the process of renewing it or having her be able to stay forever. As this is to do with the government, it might take ten days or it might take all year, so fingers crossed.
Damn, there's a lot of time coming off the current schedule already... Sad

OK, first off I will be attending.  Period.  So I guess I should mention that I could add in a couple games if necessary.  FF12 is still an option, and is the longest game I could offer (I'd put the estimate at 8:30 to be safe).  Morrowind is still there as well, though it is really short.  Finally, I could throw something together for Knights of the Old Republic by the time C4L rolled around (I'd put the estimate at 2:30 bare minimum, but it would probably be much safer at 3:00).  It's possible that my ability to get a good run for SGDQ could be affected should I run another game or two - especially if you want KOTOR - but that's something that would be better discussed via PM or Skype.
Sea of Green
To clarify, we want to and are still planning on coming - and will pay for our room, etc. no matter what. It's just down to whether the UK government gives me the settlement visa I'm after or if I have to renew my current 2-year-stay one; if I leave the country before either my new one is here or my old one is extended, I'll have to start the entire exhausting, expensive process all over again and be basically locked to staying in the US, which neither Paul nor I want.
Kupo!
I guess I may as well toss it in, in case we're in need of the time...

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
System: PSP
Estimate: 6:30:00
Info: I consider this an offer only if you absolutely need something. The route has not changed much compared to last year, just some minor optimizations to make some fights safer. If Meta is up for it (and if my PSP will cooperate, which it should as my X button is in much better condition), the Squats incentive from last year can return. There really isn't much else interesting that I can think of for incentives though (going to Minerva (the big super boss of the game) would take -far- too long, and take a ton of routing to plan out the proper materia, equipment, etc).

(PS: Much sadness that you won't be able to make it Duckfist. There'll also be much sadness if Lag/Mercury can't make it. Sad )
Fucking Weeaboo
MY KINGDOM FOR A RIBBON. Sad

Lag and Mercury, I hope you both make it.

I'll reoffer my other game. I haven't played in a bit, but it won't take too long to relearn it. I'll offer one other thing, though it's very short.

Game 1: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers
System: Wii (Will be played on Wii U)
Estimate: 4:30:00
Incentive Ideas (It's long, I'm spoiler tagging it.)
Choices:
2nd Player for Shooting Minigame at start (Me doing both controllers is an option) [This would be closed before the run starts.]
Butt Bumping Mini-Game: Win or Lose? [Difference in time is minimal.]
Train Sequence Car 1: Knock Over Moogle Cart or Not? [Difference in time is minimal.]
Train Sequence Car 2: Throw Kid or Kick Soccer Ball? [Difference in time is minimal.]
Train Sequence Car 4: Get balloon for kids or Not? [Difference in time is minimal.]
Train Sequence Car 4: Punt Guard or Hide from Guard? [Difference in time is minimal.]
Train Sequence Car 5: Brute Force vs Stealth? [Difference in time is minimal.]

Challenges:
Butt Bumping Mini-Game: IRL Play? (Only if people willingly volunteer)
Tribal Unity Ball: Clavat Step Dance [About 2 minutes]
Tribal Unity Ball: Selkie Tango Dance [About 2 minutes]
Tribal Unity Ball: Selkie Tango Dance with Chime (This is a 2nd level challenge, requires Selkie Tango to reach its goal)
Chocobo Circuit (Post-Game Challenge Mini-Game.) [Would take a couple of minutes with a preloaded save.]
Kickerbaul (Post-Game Challenge Mini-Game, choice of team Blue vs Purple.) [Would take a couple of minutes with a preloaded save.]
Save the Cows from Abduction! (Post-Game Challenge Mini-Game.) [Would take a couple of minutes with a preloaded save.]

Game 2: Final Fantasy III
System: Wii VC (Will be played on Wii U)
Estimate: 0:20
Incentives: None. This game is too short to really offer anything, outside of maybe going a big buy-in for singing Brentalfloss' "Final Fantasy Classic with Lyrics". (I wonder if it'll fit during the opening credits during the run?) Yes, if you do it, it'll have to be a big buy-in.

This would be a super short glitched run. Extra time to allow for potential screw ups and bad RNG.
Crappy run video in the spoiler:
SDA Speedruns: 1
Looking at purchasing airfare tickets tomorrow morning.  Looking to be quite expensive so hopefully can search around and find a good deal.  Will we be having a Private thread to post all airfare times in case there happens to be an airport run.
Moo! Flap! Hug!
Thank you everyone for the game suggestions. Will reply this evening; just going to quickly see what would flesh out the schedule best (in terms of the right number of hours). Sorry I haven't started the private thread yet, even though I said I'd do it earlier -- I figured there might be a few last-minute drops.

Will be phoning a confirmed sponsor this afternoon, and we'll see what happens there Smiley

So Toal's door glitch to clip through doors is straight up not working. One of the other runners for the game came into my chat and had absolutely no clue why it suddenly wasn't working. Worst case scenario, the Yunica run does look really slick and the 2:45 estimate was far too generous, none of the tricks are super hard. I'll have a better estimate in a day or two if we go with Ys Origin, and hopefully have Toal's door glitch working again because without that Toal's run is the longest of the three characters.
Insanity Prelude
Just wanted to check scheduling times due to people dropping out; has it been adjusted again? I thought I was scheduled for 5:45 am instead of  1:00 am.
Fucking Weeaboo
Considering that Obda and Duckfist as still on the Revision 1 schedule linked on the first post, so no.
Professional Second Banana
As is Rane.

Also, I haven't heard anything from Withelde or Keylie since they offered their games - anybody know if they're still planning on coming?
