Hey guys. I got a Ustream and I have a post in the live streams now. I am currently working on GoW but I will be doing an audio commentary for my Borderlands run on Thursday (hopefully). I plan on streaming it live so if anyone wants to watch they could ask questions and I might be able to answer them live. I'll try and update my post on my live stream thread the time when I have a better idea.

EDIT: Sunday noonish

DLCs sounds like an interesting idea but as I'm doing a 100% run I'd also probably have to do 100% DLCs too if I was going to take that route... which, I don't want to do. Cheesy

Segment 12:

Fuck segment 12. Orbit Achieved was so random. This took me around 300 attempts or so and was the first one where I managed to actually get the challenge done. 23:14 on the save clock.

I'm with you there. Some superstitions I have about getting it to trigger correctly.
1) don't let anything touch  you while you are set up (i.e. skags if they are around).
2) Perch it at the high angle so the back tires are far off the ground.
3) Make sure the car is not rocking and count to 7-one-thousand.

Even then it's pretty random and I frequently got one of the lower challenges instead of orbit achieved.

Nice segment. I like how you "Jumped over the gully" lol. Also you managed to get the orbit achieved in a very short amount of time in the car. I never tried it because it didn't matter on my run but have you tried meleing the car over the gap? Will that work? Then you wouldn't have to drive up the other side. To do it you will have to be right behing the car.

I have never managed to melee the runner over the gap. I'm not sure it's possible. And yeah, I was only able to get it after driving onto the ramp at an angle, and then turning the camera to face the mountain behind me and to the left and moving a little further over the edge with it. The 'jumping' is something I discovered when I got frustrated with practising and started trying to find other places to get the challenge done, and accidentally boosted into that and went up it.
The Dork Knight himself.
How do you get the runner to flip like that? Does it have to do with the runner's positioning, the camera, or both?

Part of it has to do with how the runner is positioned on a ramp, another part has to do with where and at what angle you strike the runner, and part of it has to do with how many sacrifices you made to the gods of speedrunning before attempting the segment.

Edit: Improved.
Ya if you didn't realize you have to park it with all 4 wheels off the ground. Also if its rocking that can screw with your timer because the back wheels will touch. I don't think the even have to be physically touching just really close which is why I say park it at the high angle like you did.

Segment 13:
Park the car at Shep so you don't have to back up when getting back in.
You wasted some time by running over one skag more than neccessary.
And yeah, that part about the second break switch looks pretty ugly Smiley

Also, use the keyboard to navigate through menus, like the catch-a-ride. Saves you having to target the options all the time.

I found that destroying the car counts as a kill in the sense that you get all your on kill bonuses activated. I wonder if it also counts for the achievements..
Segment 13:
If you haven't done it already I would get the journal on top of the building between switches two and three (check my run). And if you have I would delay it until now to acquire. Make sure you save the journal up the hill for when you do the parts quest (sniper I think) since it's on the way.

Yeah, that was part of the plan but I forgot about it. >_>
The parts quest you speak of is the Combat Rifle one, and yes I'll probably delay it until then. Also going to be raiding the red chest there and resetting if it doesn't have anything valuable in. Level 25 loot sells for a lot.

Edit: Better segment 13.

25:43 on the save clock. Happier with this, though I would've liked not having to run over those two extra bandits. ._.
Crab segments next methinks.
.
Segment 14:

26:48 on the save clock. I'll not be posting the crab levelling segments individually. Once I've finished in the Lost Cave I'll upload them as one video.
How much crab leveling are you going to do? You don't even have to do all of the quests to get enough experience to beat the game so you should only crab level if it will make doing the quests faster.

Also at level 11 with a decent fire SMG you can clean out at least the first two rounds of Circle of Death for some decent exp.
Exoray
New segment 13 was beast Smiley

Only thing I could think of was faster rakk kills, but you did kinda make up for the loss by moving away early and nailing that 3 group with your last shot so it's probably as good as it can get right now.
.
To level 13. I'm aiming to get a DA from the Lost Cave, and then I'll continue towards the Arid Hills.
Just call me the cynicism machine
The lack of updates is disheartening.  I thought you were better than this StarWars.
.
Where's my Paladin run Zurreco?
Just call me the cynicism machine
It's busy powerleveling on Crabs, obv.

It should be done by tomorrow then! I expect to see it posted posthaste.

^ Just found this. Two more segments and I'll be done with the caves.
FYI that's not a very good DA. It's level 13; you can pull level 16 DA out of the chest (most of the time you do). Typically you want at least an 8 fire rate and at least 25 dmg from the DA there to keep it. If you are planning on pulling a new one from the "Developer chest" then you can make do with it but overall that is not great due to it's low fire rate and low dmg.

...and I'm back from Lag.meet. If you think that's a bad weapon then I can manipulate another, I also think I need to levelgrind a bit more in the caves as doing the Arid Hills at level 13 feels really horrible. The developer chest is an idea too, but it's really out of the way and I'd rather manipulate it from a chest that is on the way to my next destination. :<

A DA is always a good weapon. I just think if you pull another it's almost guaranteed to be better. I don't know how long it took you to get that one so it's hard to say if you need to get a better one. There is a limit to how much time you are willing to spend getting some damn weapon Smiley If you plan on getting another then that will probably do but if it didn't take too long to get then it would be worth trying for a better one.

I didn't do all the areas so you can probably find some chests that are close enough to New-U's to check them before the 30 second limit which will speed up the process greatly. Lucky's New-U has a chest you can get to (see my run), and you should be able to get to the chest on the building to the left of the New-U in New Haven and exit within 30 seconds. I'm sure there are more.

Also if you get lucky and find a Combustion Hellfire with a good fire rate (which you have a decent chance of in a run this long) I would definitely consider using it as a secondary. It would be good for non-boss fights. In the boss fights the direct damage of the DA will probably out-do the CH but when you are doing skags and humans being able to light them and move on will help a bit.
.
I did find another DA but it was worse. I'll keep looking, a level 16 one would be nice, though I'm keeping the level 13 one regardless. Those 3 levels will be made much simpler with it. The New Haven chests were nerfed in a previous patch and I don't feel like downgrading to get a weapon out of there. It's a shame really as I used to find Volcanos and CHs on a regular basis there. Sad

Lucky's last chance watering hole will probably be the best option for me to get an intermediary weapon.
I would probably stick with what you have then. If you are going to get a new one at Luckys then that will work. I forgot that you will be leaving the cave early so pulling a lvl 16 now is a waste of time. My only concern about the one you have is the slow fire rate but you are right you do need one of the lvl 13 ones. That gun is still way better than anything else though so it should work well. The DMG is probably high for a lvl 13.
.
Congratulations on your accepted run, YoukaiDragoon! Smiley
Thanks! Now I just need to finish up my Casual difficulty GoW run Smiley
