How do I time my runs?
There is two different ways of timings the runs:
- SDA (Speed Demos Archive): starts when you gain control of the toad in level 1 and ends when you loose control of the toad after the Dark Queen goes to the top off the screen once you defeated her.
- RTA (Real Time Attack): starts when you press the start button in the title screen and ends right after the last hit in the Dark Queen.

What is difference between the two timings?
- Is easy to convert between the SDA and RTA timings, the formula is easy SDA timing is 7 seconds slower than RTA timing (Assuming skipping as fast as possible the dialogs between stages).

Well, here's a link to an old, old all-levels run I did (I have no idea whether it's any% warpless or 100% anymore). You can put it in whichever category it belongs. I'm guessing it's 100%, because I missed the skip in Level 10 (I don't think any others were known about at the time).

I need to explain the categories above, the problem comes to 100% and Any% Warpless. For 100% JC and me we are assuming not missing any game content, like in the snakes 4th room doing all the snakes without the early exit, same idea in Arctic Caverns level 4, before the end going the upper path to show the last part with the porkpine. Also another trouble is terra Tubes there are a three places where you can do a spike skip and that is the problem. but since probabbly you didn't do all the snakes in lv 6 it is going to be as any% warpless.

I have no idea where that timing came from, actually. Taking a quick look at the video, it looks like I hit start at 21 seconds, and get the last hit on the Dark Queen at 36:49, which would make it about 36:28 by RTA timing (Note that this is very rough timing, and may be off by a second or two.)

OMG timing Battletoads is a big trouble like in the DXTRS Run he has listed 25:00 but when i look a the video comes to 24:56 SDA Timing and 24:49 RTA Timing. I hope the description in the top will help the people how to time the runs Smiley

anyway not a big deal hopefully the community will grow up

Hey everyone! First off, thanks TMR for putting a leaderboard together; I'm hoping more people get involved with this game. Right now I've been working on any % and am definitely still learning. If any of you are thinking of giving this game some attempts, let me know because I'd definitely want to watch. I'm still in the learning process of this so if any of you would want to do some races or anything else fun, shoot me a message. Once I get a good any% time I plan on learning warpless. As of today I think Iv'e only beat this game one time without warps so I have a long way to go. I'll post a link to my last any% PB below. Lastly a shoutout to TMR and JC who have both stopped in my channel and given me support. Pretty awesome to have the top two guys of this game doing that.

TMR, this was a brilliant idea! Thank you so much for getting all these old PBs together and posting here. I seem to recall Lepinoch got a 16:32 RTA once, but I couldn't find his highlight of it. I hope I'm not wrong about this. I'll check his old VODs to see if I can find it.

I took PJ's advice in his verification notes, spent some hours on it, and finally figured out how to dash jump off the springs in level 12.

You can do it from any pixel on the spring. It has a two-frame window. It works equally well on right-side up and upside down springs.

1) Jump on the spring.
2) Hold the jump button normally to buffer a high jump off the spring.
3) Wait until you see your toad and the spring ascending together.
4) While still holding the jump button, begin a normal dash input.
5) If the second 'tap' of your double-tap lands within the two-frame window, you will successfully dash jump off the spring.

The exact window is the last two frames before your toad has officially exited the spring, just before becoming airborne.

Hello JC nice to see you posting here, definitely i will post lepinoch time in here, and very nice job about the "dash jumps" in level 12 that is amazing and i believe some seconds wil be cut off from that when is executed properly, thanks for researching that once again.
Also hopefully we can contact all the people from youtube to put their time in here Smiley
