I agree that it somewhat ruins the flow of the game to access the encores, but the levels are still interesting enough that re-entering a chapter shouldn't be too much of a bother from a viewers perspective aside from the ch. 8 encores. Considering there isn't much of a community built around this game yet, I'm unsure whether it would be fair to complete the encores before the finale granted all BBT runs I've seen are "NG+" as lack of item usage would be boring as hell to watch or run. If completing the encores prior to the finales is allowed than it definitely wouldn't offset the flow much, otherwise I agree fuck true 100% for the sake of the ending.
You must be very new here since there actually is a community around BBT https://forum.speeddemosarchive.com/post/battleblock_theater2.html and there's probably a lot more people working on the game aswell. NG+ is not working on the steam version as the items are not stored in a file but your inventory.

Considering I have yet to see much co-op any% in action I can't argue against this statement. However, I do know that single player any% has plenty of item usage. I've found multiple uses where time can be saved using the shockball in half the levels and after several runs I'm unable to remember the equips without notepad open. But again, that's single player. For entertainment purposes, co-op in any game almost definitely wins over single player no salt necessary ;).
One other thing I probably should've mentioned about "slop": I imagine both players going off on their own path and when one player hits a slight bump in the road it can easily take away from a successful trick/sequence break from the other player. Is this enough to justify any% wins over 100%? Of course not, it's just something to keep in mind. I'm only bringing this up because this game is very unique and small things like that can easily go unnoticed.

I agree with PJ that Any% wouldn't be a good watch. It might be faster but so far I've been more impressed with 100% routing than Any%.
Mistakes happen in a marathon. Even singleplayer would suffer from that fact. There's enough unsafe tricks in both routes.

*cough* Mecha's Pac-man 2 run *cough* but for real I understand they're both capable of it, but it's hard to lay down an appropriate estimate when there's still so much progress to be made between now and AGDQ.
That run was pretty hilarious. Also this probably wasn't a smart move from someone who has to prove himself first. I'm pretty sure PJ and Mecha will crush their estimate since they both have spent a lot more time with that game than the current runner community combined.
