StarSong Hype
Hello there, my name is Adam but I go by Laplacier online and I would be interested in attending AGDQ this year.

My Twitch page is twitch.tv/laplacier

1. Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins (Any%) [Estimate: 28:00] - I am currently tied for WR in this game with Mugg1991 at 26:41 and Controllerhead, who is also attending, can race it with me. When we competed for WR of this game ~6 months ago we were fighting each other for seconds of time. It is down to the point where we look for tenths of a second to save time.

2. Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins (Glitched%) [Estimate: 5:00] - This can be added as an incentive. I have not saved a video of myself performing this trick but Mugg1991 has a video of the trick here.

I know how to perform this route and if this game is accepted I will practice this until AGDQ (hard to perform).

I see that you have already expressed your uneasiness in whether the game will be entertaining on page 10 of the thread but I hope you will reconsider. When Controllerhead and I stream this game everyone loves it! Smiley

Hey, I can beat both Fancy Pants Adventures HD and Atlantis Squarepantis DS each in a little over an hour! Can I do those at the marathon since I'll finally be able to come, since it works in my schedule? (FINALLY! Cheesy )

I don't know how quickly I've beaten Fancy Pants, but my record for Atlantis Squarepantis DS is 1:15:52.43.

Also, I know how to beat Advance Guardian Heroes pretty quickly with Dylan.

Edit: sorry about the double post, I thought I clicked the edit button the first time --'

There's a good template on how Mike wants the posts to look like in order to reduce the burden.

Ok, let me try this again.

*ahem* Hello there peeps, my name is Logan, but I go by the name Zwataketa online. I wanted to participate in this year's SGDQ, but it didn't work into my school schedule, unfortunately. So I'm hoping to be able to run three games this upcoming AGDQ.

1. Atlantis Squarepantis DS version newgame+ with Squidward- I have been speedrunning this game so much to the point where I can't play it casually. I have found so many glitches that I can't explain even one quickly in a post. After the run, I could also show off so,e extra glitches for fun. That's how much time I've put into the game. My best record for this game is 1:15:52.43.

2. Fancy Pants Adventures HD with pencil already unlocked- though the game isn't as breakable as Atlantis Squarepantis, I have found so many shortcut routes with in this game using the airdash ability of the Pencil. I even found an epic glitch on the Angry Rabbit Boss, but I'm gonna save it for the run. I plan to run all the stages in order of World 1 stages, to World 2, then World 3, or story mode as the HD version calls it.

3. Advance Guardian Heroes with Dylan- I'm not as good at this game as the two others I mentioned, but good enough to speedrun. Also, Coolkirby and I have been working on a TAS of this game with Dylan, so I know some tricks to save time with it. I think I'd be able to pull it off if I practiced enough before the marathon.

Also, I would really like to meet Da1andOnlySonic. I'm Sonic's #1 biggest fan at heart for real, and Da1andOnlySonic is one of my idols, especially with his motto "know your limits, but don't limit yourself." It would be a real honor to meet him and watch him speedrun a Sonic game super fast! Cheesy

Edit: ok, here are my estimates.
Atlantis Squarepantis DS: 1:30:00
Fancy Pants Adventures: 2:00:00
Advance Guardian Heroes: 2:00:00

We have enough games for a Spongebob block at this point.

I just thought it would be nice to bring a game that is not considered a bad game because its good but ALMOST NO ONE knows about it. I think it would be a nice inclusion, because it has a good number of bosses, stages, minigames, etc. It can even rival Battle for Bikini Bottom on terms of glitchiness and awesomeness.

Also, forgot to mention, in one of the levels, you have to pick between two stages to go through-a volcano and a coral cave-, but you end up doing both in time, and they don't give you any extra 'abilities' to make one or the other easier, so perhaps there could be donations on which stage I go to first, if I'm selected for running. I'm just throwing it out there.
Heavy Metal Powered
You need to include proper estimates, not your best time. The estimate should be safe enough that if the game decides to troll you, you can still finish under the said time.
We have enough games for a Spongebob block at this point.

Hello!

1. MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries (MekTek Patch 3.1) EST: 1:20:00

Recruit difficulty, Donation incentive for limit on my mech weight (from 100 to 85) (artificial increase of difficulty), Donation choice for color of paint (cosmetic), Donation choice for type of weapons my mech uses (game play change).

I run around in a giant mech and shoot other mechs. A lot of improvisation can be thrown in depending on what people want me to use. It looks cool, I can have back up saves in case I have really bad luck. I love ~GDQ's and would love to attend!

Totally rad
[1] Grand Theft Auto: Vice City -- All Missions [3:50] -- Compared to any%, this category adds a ton of fun missions, is less random and more fast paced. I've just picked this category up, so my PB is only 3:20ish, but I'll definitely be able to get it down to 3:10ish before AGDQ. Estimate is generous, to give plenty of time for setup and possible mishaps.

[2] Ninja Gaiden [Master System] -- Any% [30:00] -- This Ninja Gaiden may be less known than its NES brother, but the fast gameplay and cool platforming more than makes up for its obscurity. A good run should take about 20-21 minutes. Here's a link to the TAS to show you what it would roughly be like:

[3] Sonic Chaos [Master System] -- 100% [25:00] -- Thanks to extensive use of spindashes and peel-outs, this is the fastest Sonic game on the system. The special stages one has to go through for 100% are a sight to behold! Here's a link to mike89's TAS to show you what the game's like:

[4] I'm just throwing the next game out there: Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs. This game is coming out in about 2 weeks, but makes use of the same engine and a lot of similar assets to the first Amnesia game. That means: Out of bounds galore. The game may not be out yet, but I am certain it will make for an excellent run. I will be actively working on this game as soon as it's out, so I can have rough estimates available in 2-3 weeks for this game.

[5] Phantasy Star Online Episode 1 + 2 -- 100% All classes, all Section IDs [4860:00:00]. One of the greatest RPGs ever made, and one that has a large following. The proposed category involves clearing every area on every difficulty and completing every quest on every difficulty, with every combination of class and Section ID. At 4860 hours, it might be a little bit on the long side, but this action packed game will keep viewers entertained all the way through!

Alternatively, I could do any% with a pretty game breaking trick (weapon stacking), which would take roughly 1 hour.

Hi! My name's J.C., and I would like to destroy Battletoads for you in this upcoming marathon.

You can find my stream here... -- http://twitch.tv/jc583
...and my PB here. -- http://www.twitch.tv/jc583/c/2659234

Looks like I'll be racing TMR this year! Should be pretty epic.

Any% estimate - 21 minutes.

Warpless estimate - 35 minutes.

----------

While we're at it, I think I'll finish routing Dragon's Lair NES for Awful Games Done Quick. I will play the NTSC version, because it's just so much more awful, and it's the hardest. It's also really short, and I don't think it's been played at a marathon before. It's a fun game to hate, and a fun game to watch people play.

Estimate -- 15 minutes.

No donation incentive for Ending Route? (Steiner or Davion?)  :-(
Again, no guarantee that I can make it, but yeah:

Serious Sam 3: BFE (Tourist Difficulty)
The route's got some improvements since last time I offered. Less mucking about with Sandwhale and more vaulting over walls with Kleers. Also Sledgehammer of destruction. I'll give an hour estimate.

Donation incentives for doing the Jewel of the Nile DLC levels, and getting the Queen Hatshepsut achievement (separately from the main run). I'll give these 15 and 7 minute estimates respectively.

I'd also offer Gensokyo No Nazo again, but Mike seems to have made up his mind on what Touhou game he wants.

I rarely stream on Twitch due to a really low upload speed, but here it is:

I'm more active on Youtube (though mostly LP-oriented):

I'm going to humbly ask for a re-consider on Bomberman 64. I'll stick it in spoilers.

Didn't really get a great response AGDQ 2012 despite the game having some cool bomb jump tricks.

This is a fair point. I looked at the stats, and yeah, it wasn't a showstopper, but I think that was more to do with the timeslot and date than anything.

Bomberman 64 has only been in one marathon, two years ago. I know a lot of games have only been in once, but this is a game that should have another showing, especially since I'm offering 100%. It may be significantly longer than any%, but here's the thing.

If 100% gets in, it will not disappoint. I've been working on this game since before AGDQ 2013, I have both any% and 100% records, and I'm still working on improving it. I am the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be at this game. It brings in the twitch viewers. Everybody is hype for it. I even made a moving hype picture!

If nothing else, I think it deserves a little more consideration.
I want to post to say If bomberman 64 gets in, It will be one of my most hyped runs to watch

hello, world!
I see that people are already doing Half-Life and Half-Life 2, so I'll mix up my list of games.

1. Metal Gear Solid 2: SoL  -- Donation challenge between any%[2:00:00] and 100%[2:50:00]  (extreme or e-ex difficulty)

2. Metal Gear Solid 3: SE  -- Could potentially do a donation war between kerotan or not, but for now lets just say any%. [2:30] (e-ex)

3. Silent Hill 2 -- Donations for which ending  [1:30]  I find SH runs entertaining, if I play it on the PC version it will be brighter and not as dark. Could also do donations for the 'Born from a Wish' episode which takes like 10 mins.
AceBentura's offerings.

Twitch: http://twitch.tv/AceBentura

1. - New Super Mario Bros (DS or Emulator), DS for legit run, emulator for better communication with stream.

Category - Any% Warpless
Estimate - 1:05.00
World Record - 50:07.62 (Me)

Reason for applying for this, as i think the game has had a bad wrap in the past. Through bad running of the game, constant complaining by runners about RNG playing huge factors (which generally is removed in this run, and was only due to the category being chosen by them, Any%). This game has a lot to offer than people don't even get to see, including some very very cool tricks, intentional deaths and single pixel and single frame tricks that haven't been shown in other runs, due to category.

Thanks.

I second this. I know I said it earlier in the thread, but because the money just isn't there for me to be there and throw in a run, I'd really appreciate it if you would reconsider Mike's proposal. Bomberman 64 needs another chance, and FBM is the man for the job. He creates hype very well.
I'm just trying to impress you.
Generous estimates below:

Doom 64 | Be Gentle [0:45:00]
- Was just at SGDQ but got good reception, was tweeted by iD, and I honestly can't think of another game I'd rather play. Be Gentle is less combat-focused than Watch Me Die! and plays ridiculously fast.

Blast Corps | 100% [2:00:00]
- Confirming race with grav

Super Mario 64 | 70 Star [1:30:00]
- One handed run if no proper runners offer.

The Typing of The Dead | Any% [0:40:00]
- Was a hit at SGDQ 2012, more people deserve to see it.

Prayerwarriors: A.O.F.G. | Any% [0:10:00]
- For awful games segment. First Person Spiritual Warfare and Righteous Flight Simulator. The buggiest game I've ever seen. Developer's product description below:
Quote:
As a male or female prayerwarrior, this action packed game challenges you to go forth into the battlefield of the spiritual realm, find and put on the full Armor of God, and then proceed into dangerous territory on a rescue mission. You will be assisted by E.S.T.H.E.R., a computer that transmits visual data and provides clues that enable the success and the completion of the rescue operation. Choose from various spiritual weapons which you can store in real time as you enter dangerous 3D worlds filled with intelligent enemies. traps, puzzles, and CD Quality interactive stereo settings. Make mission critical decisions, collect scrolls filled with the Word, and pick up objects which randomly generate verses and scriptures. In the final level of the game you will fly Eagle7- a helicopter, find the U.S.S.A.O.F.G. - aircraft carrier, and load up with Truth Rockets. Avoid enemy radar, engage flying enemies, and evil ground forces. Of course, you can eject at any time and continue the battle on the ground. The game features: Intelligent Enemies, FULL Immersive Virtual Worlds, FLIGHT COMBAT with player eject mode from P.W. helicopter, Awesome 3D Stereo soundtracks, ambient sounds, and Bible Scriptures in all levels which are displayed when the player activates prayer ammo, solves puzzles, and collects scrolls.

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts [Estimate: 2:30:00] - Relatively unknown in the scene, but a very interesting run. Uses many glitches to acquire end-game parts early on, pre-made blueprints for tailor made vehicles on each mission and many bizarre strategies throughout.
In space no one can hear you scream
Hey there!

Twitch page: http://www.twitch.tv/bananaboat333

I would like to submit:
1. Alien 3 [Estimate 0:45:00]- This is the main game I run, and I don't think anyone else has. My PB is 43 minutes. It's a action-platformer with really great music. It's also based on the BEST Alien movie...Kappa
2. Adventures of Cookie & Cream [Estimate  1:20:00]-This game is just fun & hilarious. It's a puzzle platformer & is meant to be a two player game but I can play both characters on one controller.  I'm in the process of cutting that time down about 10-15 minutes.
Can't guarantee I'll be able to attend at this point, but thought I'd apply before the deadline.  Depending on the cuts and college schedule I'll know for sure shortly.

twitch channel: www.twitch.tv/halfbakedprophet

1. Donkey Kong Country 2 any% - if there's a race happening and enough room I could participate

2. Ecco the Dolphin - either category.  If we can decide to allow the vertical movement glitches into the "no camera-freeze clip" category, it would have some really cool unseen tech thanks to Rezard's recent discoveries.
Estimate: 25:00 for any%, 30:00 for no camera-freeze clip

3. Kolibri - uber obscure game, only learned the route recently and still working on optimizations.  Also looking for a functional 32x on ebay so I can actually play it on console.  almost certainly a reject, but it's such a bizarre/awesome concept I figured I'd add it.
Estimate: 50:00
My feelings on The Demon Rush
Okay catching up since I was out of town until yesterday. Page 25 and 26

Kagesan: Quite obscure even though like you said, the plot is quite hilarious. Going with no.

Also I don't really think this is the best watch simply because the goals in the game are so obtuse and require a lot of explanation.

Blindfolded Turbo Tunnel: Maybe? Depends on what we want

5upamayne: I'll consider those donation incentives.

EpiclyEpic: You suggested too many games.

atmuh: If you have zewing's approval I'll put you on for a race if that's what we want.

Enki: You're not Mitch, but I think a donation incentive for him to do a warps run is possible for SMB3.

Sir VG:

1. Final Fantasy III: This glitched run sounds good. If nothing else it can be a bonus game. Added to the list.

2. I don't have a strong feeling about Pokemon Green. I guess it could be tacked on as a donation incentive for another Pokemon game.

3. I haven't played Rebirth, but the overall reaction I get from people who have played the game is meh, and I haven't seen much publicity or popularity (both overall and in the speedrunning community) since its release.

4. Haunted Castle: This game is bad and Simon walks with a stick up his butt, but I don't know about AwfulGDQ material.

5. Rondo of Blood: You are aware you'll have to stick with Richter-only, right?

DK28:

Contra: You're definitely good at this game, but as I said previously, Contra games haven't done all that great with viewer response or donations unless if there's something like 2p1c. However, you are offering some donation choices and Contra is a classic that doesn't take up too much time, so I think I will put it on the list for now.

Double Dragon II: Sinister1's run was too epic at SGDQ. I don't really see any reason to revisit this game any time soon.

Art of Fighting: Fighting game speedruns are pretty bleh to watch.

Super Mario Kart: KVD is the record holder of this game so I'll let him perform.

Legendary Axe: TG-16 gets no love from viewers, sorry.

DarkFrog: You already suggested Final Fantasy VII.

ahuynh: I had some people more familiar with DMD review the footage and they said you're good. Added to the list.

Secret of Mana: Estimate adjusted to 2:40:00

Almo: we'll see.

Egonomics: Yeah we can go over 4p logistics later. I need to practice combos and mechanics myself.

fuzzerd: Your name sounds familiar, are you a member of TSC? We're not doing a Sonic 1-3 race.

Sonic 1: We did this at SGDQ and I don't really see anything that screams running this game so soon again.

Sonic 2: Maybe?

Sonic 3 and Knuckles: Can you match Werster's level for a Knuckles run incentive or something of the sort? Or are you going with just Sonic.

Bonk's Revenge: Again, TG-16 stuff just doesn't get love. I've never seen viewers demand it.

CavemanDCJ: Hahahahaha, PJSalt. Wink
just( •_•)>⌐■-■ ..... (⌐■_■)wing it
@mikwuyama he has my approval since I discussed it with him last night.  Though he needs a low 41 by AGDQ first and I believe he can get it
Neutral is never a weakness
I wasn't really sure where to post this, but I've become much better at fighting Phantom in Zero 3 now, so that could be a possible donation incentive.
