lol, oops. i accidentally built an old version of mp4box for windows that apparently doesn't respect nonzero initial timestamps on imported streams. so now i get to wrestle with compiling mp4box for windows again, yay.
ok, the desync with statid under windows bug should be fixed. i've posted a new version of alpha 4 for windows. please check. thanks.
I encoded 3 qualities of a video with a statID, and there is no desync.
D:
Fixed for me as well.

Finished encoding my test file on FRAPS and New Master File. Based on previous tests against alpha 2 I got the following results:
- Output files' filesize has increased in all scenarios
- Encoding time is... odd. LQ/HQ/IQ encoding time decreased, MQ encoding time doubled (FRAPS source, not NMS)
- yua crashed (did not invoke mp4box) twice when trying to encode IQ of the New Master File w/ StatID.

Also StatID too small. I cannot fit my full runner name (was able to in alpha 2).

As before find attached ongoing results document. yua alpha 4 in page 4.
do i have this test file? i need to determine why it crashed on iq.

I'll test tonight, but wanted to ask if this is a precursor to video appending? I'm guessing so.
sorry, what is a precursor to video appending? i mean i could have done appending the old way (with the standalone x264 and ffmpeg binaries) too but of course it didn't handle synchronization at all. so now it's going to be something like ... what's the timestamp on the last video or audio frame, whichever is greater ... add that plus one frame in the global timebase to the timestamps of the next segment converted to the global timebase. hopefully that will work anyway.

Attaching test file torrent (866MBs). Do you want the FRAPS source of it as well?
And note it "crashed" when trying with StatID (meaning it never went to mp4box.exe once it finished). Without StatID it was fine.
as long as i can reproduce the crash with that i'm good.

Finally organized my folder of random source files picked up here over the years. It's not that much in the end. Nate if there's anything interesting in there you want, let me know. Still haven't done much testing yet, will do over the weekend though.

nate, did you receive the file? It says i transferred 303MBs so I'm not sure if you have it.
haha, cool. i guess i should go ahead and write automation and that tool that dumps info about yua's output in a machine-readable way so we can set up tests.

i have 34.9%.

Yeah it seems to be stuck for some reason. Delete it and replace with a new one attached to this post, maybe it will work.
i have 100% now. thanks.
D:
I discovered today that my Droid Razr Maxxckszs isn't smart enough to understand yua's MP4 audio-shifting sorcery when a statID is included.  With the stock media player (Google Play whatever), the audio starts immediately rather than after the statID disappears.  I tested with videos from both alpha 3 and the updated alpha 4.  My phone is running Android 4.0.4.  I do not have the same problem if I encode the video and add the statID with anri.  Also, the yua videos play correctly in VLC on my PC.

I can post sample videos if you want, but I'm guessing device availability is more of an issue.  Unfortunately, I don't have any other Android devices I can test with, so I can't say if this is an Android problem or a Motorola problem.

Android video playback seems to suck, so I don't know how much you want to support, but I thought it might be worth knowing.
I could try, if I had a sample (android devices).
But you could also try with another player. Android has a lot of them.
it is definitely worth knowing. problem now is i'm not sure whether it's worth attempting to fix since if it doesn't support initial offsets then does it support noncontinuous timestamps? if it doesn't then the audio is going to be desynced for a lot of output anyway.

unfortunately it's seeming more and more like i'm not through with synchronization yet.
Just want to make sure.. is it safe to run multiple instances of Yua?
should be 100% safe.

Neat, yua.video_encoder.log gets written to concurrently.

Well, so far Yua a4 does not like ts/m2ts at all.

nate, if you want to download some stuff, try this sftp. I set it up recently, hopefully it works.

ps to everyone, I have limited bandwidth, so don't go downloading if you don't need it.

edit2- I'm going through my clips and putting results in a spreadsheet, but I'll still post some things here as I find them.

Issue: Media Player Classic - Home Cinema 64-bit (1.6.5.6366 (744df1c)) is not respecting audio offset on statid. VLC 2.04 seems to work.
lol. who knew it would be something other than quicktime 7 that ruined my day.

Had I known you were attempting audio offset, I would have advised against it. I've tried it before in the past when looking into StatID mp4 appending without re-encode. Sucks.
makes me wonder whether it's respecting the initial video offset. the audio and video have their own difficulties. with the audio i don't have a good way to convert the input frame size (which may vary from frame to frame) to the output frame size (which is chosen for me by the codec). seems like the safest way is to just write code to zero-pad both.
Yep. At the time that I was trying it, it seemed like the most logical and efficient way of doing things. "Oh, just offset the audio, that should work!! *plays result in media players - some work, most don't* Shit."
