Sup everyone, I started streaming early this year and am still going. Thus far I have done speedruns of:
-Castlevania 3
-Castlevania 1
-Final Fantasy Mystic Quest (both SDA-style SS and Nico-style RTA)
-Maximum Carnage
-Wolfenstein 3-D (Episode 1 only so far, also 100% videos of E6M9 and E6M10).
Having completed my console runs of CV3, I am moving on to Super Castlevania 4 and learning that from scratch. I will continue to work on Maximum Carnage as well, and I may learn Megaman 1 & 2 in the future (need to hit Seth up for glitches).
I almost always stream from emulators, the exception being when I'm at someone's house and they can capture video and stream for console runs. I always do live commentary and have the stream chat open as I play, as that's a lot of the fun of it!
My stream also has a few bells & whistles which aren't widely used and should add to the fun! I use a timer on my screen for full run attempts, much like the Nicovideo people, and with the help of Marlie Tang I should be able to start using mIRC scripts soon! These scripts would allow me to post the overall time after each level as well as the specific level time, and compare those to the current record or my personal record.
My next stream will likely be something short just to test streaming with BSNES. It's the most accurate SNES emulator but much more resource-heavy than others, so I'm not 100% sure how it would work out for streaming. I'm thinking a Maximum Carnage run (with an extra Sonic Gun icon I didn't know about before, and a better Carnage strategy) would be a fine test for it!
