If I remember right the damage area for the Barrier is everywhere on the map that is not the castle. So even if you managed to get past it, it would still damage you.

Some old discussion on it here.
http://forums.zeldaspeedruns.com/index.php?topic=78.640
I don't think you can use the TT in that room anyway.
No, you cannot use Tingle Tuner in Hyrule.
If done correctly...
Perhaps there could be some way of performing the 0 heart wind waker dive, going over the bridge after getting past the barrier, going to some enemies and bomb them for a heart, (this might require turning angles with a bomb if that's possible) move torward Ganon's tower while continuously getting hurt, and hopefully, with lots of luck I'm sure, you could enter Ganon's tower and skip his trials and puppet battle to move on to the final battle of the game! Since I now know that you can't use the tingle tuner at all in Hyrule, I'll try to do the 0 heart wind waker dive, but I'm having a little trouble getting onto Hyrule's Castle's railing right now, so don't expect me to find any answers any time soon. :?

Yes, a cucco riding the ground.
The problem is that the damage barrier will knock you down while you're hovering. It can be cancelled by pulling out the Wind Waker right when you lose invincibility, but if you take damage while the damage barrier is cancelled, it will start knocking you down again. To hover to Ganon's castle, we would need some way to do a Wind Waker dive with zero hearts with the damage barrier cancelled. We currently have no way to do this; in order to cancel the damage barrier, you need to wait for your invincibility to run out. If you have zero hearts, you can't wait, since you'll die if you do. Another thing that's relevant is that IIRC, if you have zero hearts and land on the ground, you will die before you can take the WW out. I think I tested this with turbo a while back. This precludes the possibility of getting reduced to zero hearts by a bomb, hovering into the barrier, letting yourself fall on the edge of the railing, and pulling out the WW to dive and cancel the damage barrier.

This is a random, probably pointless, thought that I had today. Can forest water do anything to mess with the barrier? I tried to see if someone else tried this, but I couldn't find anything, and I really want to see barrier skip in this game, so forgive me if lots of people have already tried this before. Sad

I saw this topic and thought id post this here i guess for anyone who cares, Jianos 6:16 RTA:

Few months old.
Yes, a cucco riding the ground.
People have tried stuff with Forest Water, but no one has found anything. It might help if there were a way to do the storage glitch in that area, but I don't think there is.
Main Work!!!
Sadly I know that this glitch isn't doable on a console but man, this guy planning is good(the TAS by itself seem a bit sloppy but worth a see)

Well based on the title I'd assume this is just a TAS route and not a TAS. As a TAS I don't think this run would get accepted. Still, it's nice to see a TAS being worked on.

It's just a test run.

A few different people have expressed interest in actually tasing it, including swordless, mrgrunz, and some others. Hopefully at least one of them will actually get it done.
Main Work!!!
This guy talk about restarting it and doing it well if they find the barrier skip but yeah it would be insane if Mr.Grunz would be doing it, there's a big chance according to his post in my opinion

it took us years to find some of the glitches in oot (we are still finding them like 12 years after its been out)

so we still might find a barrier skip. it could just take a very long time
Yeah, this is just a test run, if that. Pretty much just for route timing.
Barrier skip, well, a couple of people tested it and sadly, it's still not gonna work.
any reason cosmo is not doing the puppet ganon skip?
DS Dictator
1) Mash the B button for a ridiculous length of time, more than Heidman and Tiki can mash combined
2) It involves hitting a bat during zombie hover.
3) It requires a heart drop as you'll die once you touch the ground.
4) You need to touch the heart that is on the ground so Link can carry on and skip the fight.

Chances of it happening nearly 6 hours into the RTA run: No chance.
he has a tingle tuner to heal so the bat would actually be a nuisance(i dropped a million times that skip thanks to bats),should he go high enough he can heal and leafglide back to a safe platform...he doesn't have to go all they way up with the hover, just the initial part.

Tingle Tuner doesn't work in that room. Also, Greenalink forgot to mention that Puppet Ganon isn't very nice and likes to knock you out of the hover
The keese also LOVE to knock you out of the hover. Now, I myself have gotten up to the top of the room with zombie hovering, but I had to pause a couple times to regain energy. Not to mention, I did the hover after puppet ganon was defeated, so I didn't have anything to knock me back. It's not an easy feat, and with as many variables as there are to do it, 6 hours into the run, you'd be better off just fighting puppet ganon.

Now a segmented run, I could see doing it.
I THINK I SINGED MY HAIR!
Is Grunz still doing WW? He hasn't uploaded tricks or anything to youtube in a long time.
I guess no one else has mentioned it...yet. Cosmo got sub 6 hours on a recent attempt. Can't remember when, but glad to see that 6 hour mark finally broken.
he can still shave some minutes, which is very exciting!

Watch it if you have nothing to do for 6 hours. Some really good stuff. The time of the run is 5:56:34
Cosmo is my hero. I've been watching his streaming attempts late at night and they're like a wonderful bedtime story. Hope he submits a run soon. Smiley
Just passing the word along, but apparently Wind Waker is more broken than ever before?

Something about duplicating the "Storage" effect (Camera Lock) without using Forest Water cutscene or something.... This was originally used to allow Cabana Deed skip (get into Cabana without deed), but it also allows for potential superswim without tools or Forest Water.

I don't completely get it, but hopefully this video explains more for those interested in running the game:
