Huh? You're not supposed to stun him or anything - Ganondorf always dodges an arrow if it doesn't hit him in the back. After you damage him enough (three spin attacks), talk to Zelda and then run away so that Ganondorf has his back turned against her.

Anyway, I just made an attempt using the Elixir Soup and got a time of 46 seconds... Which is slightly higher than I remembered, but still saves over 20 seconds compared to peteyboo's video. I think that's a sizeable improvement to a one minute fight, personally.

Yeah, but you said "attack until you get a parry". That confused me.

Anyway, I got a video. I don't know when you started timing, but my video is 48 seconds including a small one second pause before the battle music starts, and including the Parry --> Brain Skewer move all the way up until it's almost completely white (like my last video).

I'll get a video up shortly.

Nice, you got a better video than me, then. I cut it right as I pressed A.

As for why I said you needed to parry, that's because without the soup you can't do enough damage on that first stun, so you need it to advance to the next phase.

Ah. Also, who do you want to be credited as for the strategy in my video description, as I'm sure all the n00bs will be like "omg hao liek i du tihs?" >_>
I'm sure they will regardless of whom you credit. Tongue

Anyway, you could credit me as Hero of Legend, as that's what I'm known as in the Zelda community.

Okay, done, and I credited you.

I think I just found the best glitch on Wind Waker, it lets you slide around and could be used as a super slide.

Get into clawshot mode and release a clawshot. While it's coming back, hold L and up at the same time. You'll start sliding. Release L but carry on holding up. You'll be able to slide everywhere! Not at great speed, but sliding nontheless.

I'm on my hols at the mo, so I can't make a video of it, but i'm very excited as it's my first proper good glitch i've ever found.

The speed you're moving before going into first person is the speed you will remain sliding. I found that a loooong time ago.

Congrats on finding it yourself though.

Aw, you should've made a video of it so I didn't make a fool of myself :-/

Yeah, Video

According to my site I posted it back in April 2006. Old threads for the win.

Damn you, Fierce, damn you for being so much better at everything than I am.
hi
this might be really old but anyone consider going to isle of steel or even needle rock for triforce charts when going from windfall to outset with the bombs

apparently tsa's run he uses the tornado thingy to warp so i guess that doesn't work

better yet, why not kill the frog guy in the tornado then with bombs? is that possible? then you can just warp everywhere ;d

I've usually go to the Isle of Steel when not using the cyclone.

I don't think Cyclos can be defeated with bombs...never tried though.

I thought cyclos could be defeated with bombs.  I'm ~90% sure I've hit him with a bomb before.

Bombs don't go high enough to hit him.Your probably thinking of something else

ZFG is right, i'm doing a re-run of this game and while putting the pearls in the right places, I ran into cyclos. I tried shooting with bombs but they weren't high enough. Then KoRL told me I needed 'An item which pierces objects from distances' to get him. That's a bow by the way.

Also, I found that putting the sail down then up again then down, then up etc. gives you a little boost and makes you go faster than usual.

And the password for the pirate boat is 'Chummily'. Remember that so you don't have to watch the sequence in the bomb shop.

Already in the current speedrun and has been mentioned in this thread.

The password changes and even if you knew it, you still need to watch the cutscene IIRC.
Curse 5-day summer camp... because of that I've made no progress this week. Oh well, at least the camp is over.

Yeah, the password I'll be using is Plankton.  Tongue

I've had Chummily twice in a row Tongue but I don't know what treating a shark 'chummily' is all about.

And sorry for old finds, I know I should read back, but i'm on holiday and on dial-up so can't really be bothered.

The main reason i'm doing a re-run is because I want to see if the clawshot slide (Fierce's First Person Slide, refound by me :P) could help at all in a run, and to see if it clips through anything.

That hookshot slide isn't really helpful at all.I've tried clipping through some angles with no sucess.
There's also another kind of short slide which I found some time ago and actually never mentioned before (I'm not sure why) and I don't recall reading about it anywhere.

As of right now I don't remember exactly how I did it but it was something like the following.
When you have the Clawshot, aim and shoot at some far distance, then press right or left and press L after that (Or L and then right or left), must be done pretty fast after each other. Something like this, if done correctly, Link throws the Clawshot and then slides to the side. The further you throw the Clawshot (The more time it takes to come back), the more you slide.

I couldn't find anything useful with this because whenever you reach a ledge or something, you just fall down instead of floating a bit.

To me the short slide is old. Also has anyone managed to find a way to skip those bushes that block the way to the Forest of Fairies in Outset without getting the sword? If you get the pigs mad they can cut down the bushes Smiley Hmmm...maybe if we could throw pots and rocks at them?

EDIT: Nevermind, this was mentioned before in this topic.

EDIT:Hey unreal can you make a good route for the Earth temple?

How did I miss this? Sure I could. Also the quickest way to defeat the enemies in Hyrule Castle is a stab and a quickspin. That's with the soup of course.

<_< Someone's been playing too much TP.

It's Grappling Hook, not Clawshot.

Haha, I always mix up those names Grin Grappling Hook, Clawshot, Hookshot...
Damn it all. I was just inches away from skipping the first Phantom Ganon battle at the FF. I got him near the spiked pegs and was able to overhead parry just high enough to jump over the pegs. But take a guess, there is an invisible wall blocking the path...obviously. When Link hits the wall he acts like he hits the spiked pegs...I have yet another theory to skip this....Yeah it's useless since we need the Skull Hammer but I think skipping the battle would be pretty cool Tongue
