Just wanna double-check my work on this sample from Skies of Arcadia Legends.

I believe it is D1, F2 at an NTSC format.  It would also be considered a 3D game for low quality purposes.  Am I correct?
correct.
Here's a sample of Star Ocean 4, on XBox 360. I need to know what to put in to Anri-Chan to encode it for youtube. Thanks!

added to db.
Guess I should post this here, though I doubt many other people will be crazy enough to run this game...
Baten Kaitos Origins is D1, F2.

Sorry about that, Gamecube, and gamecube only.

Tiny Toons: Buster Busts Loose (SNES): http://files.filefront.com/13787791

Also, should I bother posting a sample of another game you already discussed or just use that information?  I'm guessing it'll be the same for d and f, but you mentioned 1-pixel bob for Goof Troop (SNES), does that mean it'll always need the 1-pixel bob adjustment?
bushido blade: d4 f2 3d.

tiny toons: d4 f1 2d.

1-pixel bob comes from your capture hardware. it looks like you will always need it with d4 stuff.

Hullo, just wanted to know the values for this game.

I'm looking for the d/f/fdp for Time Crisis 2 (PS2, NTSC).  The sample can be found here.

Sorry if this is in the wrong place; I just got my DVD recorder two days ago and hadn't been concerned with the technical aspects of runs 'til now.  It's just that this thread hasn't gotten much attention lately...

Also, a general question regarding d/f/fdp.  If you input the wrong values in anri-chan, will that sometimes result in a failed, ungenerated video?  I kind of guessed at the values, and while the LQ .avi worked the MQ .mp4 failed.  Twice.  After running through all the frames twice, it said something about "URL request could not be found"...?  I have the log files if it helps, but I haven't tried to change the d/f/fdp values to see if that matters.  Seems to me like a video should be generated regardless, but what do I know?  I've never even used something as simple as Windows Movie Maker before...  Roll Eyes

Thanks for the help!
wow, d1 f1 3d.

not totally sure what will result if the values are really really wrong. probably what happened was mp4box couldn't find or understand the video or the audio. let me know if you have any problems encoding stuff d1 f1 3d. you might try a short sample first as d1 f1 is by several orders of magnitude the most cpu-intensive type of video to encode (talking about hq and above here). remember that you also have the option of submitting the original files to me to encode. good luck.

Thanks for the quick reply, nate!

But dang, I'm pretty certain those are the settings I had used.  It probably doesn't help that this computer's pretty old (not exactly sure how bad, though; it's second-hand).  I'll play around by downgrading the .mp4 and upgrading the .avi in the next 24 hours to see how everything reacts.  In the meantime, I might be able to borrow a surrogate computer for encoding purposes...

As for sending anything to you, this nowhere near to a finished run.  I just wanted to be able to share it for others (read: bmn) to see and critique.  I wouldn't want to bother you with such a trivial task when it kind of doesn't matter.  But if I continue to have encoding problems, I'll be sure to get in touch when the run is ready for verification!

Again, thanks.  You're doing good work, as always.
if you're not submitting it then just encode d4 f2 3d nq avi. it will be very fast, good enough for your purposes and more or less certain to work.
Shadow Complex XBL (Sample)

Do all XBL games have the same FDP?

No they don't:

Shadow Complex has 30 frames per second (F2)
You can tell a F1/60 Frames per second when the action is really smooth, mainly Fighting games is the obvious example.

Trials HD is a D1, F1, 3D
Splosion man is D1, F2, 3D
Marvel Vs Capcom 2 (Downloadable version) is D1 (I think), F1, 2D.

Also, on the bottom of that video is a weird gray bar that DScaler has started adding recently, any idea what the cause might be/how to get rid of it? It doesn't show up on the preview screen on DScaler, only in the captured video.

How did you conclude that it's F1?

I forgot to mention it was NTSC.

My capture card can record at ~30 fps, and since the captured video was interlaced, so when deinterlaced, it becomes ~60 fps? Aside from that, it just plays like it's 60fps.

If my reasoning is wrong and it wasn't actually F1, let me know where I went wrong.
Sure, technically if you deinterlace 30 fps interlaced footage it becomes 60 fps progressive, but depending on the framerate of the game itself you may see that a lot of the frames are duplicates.

So if you've deinterlaced to 60 fps and the game runs at 60 fps, the sequence of frames would look like:

U U U U U U ...etc

Where U is a unique frame and D is a duplicate frame.

Deinterlace to 60, game runs at 30:

U D U D U D ...etc

Deinterlace to 60, game runs at 20:

U D D U D D ...etc

There are different methods to find the framerate, I like using AviSynth. If you're at all interested, here's a little exercise you can do on that vid you uploaded:

1. Install AviSynth.
2. Install VirtualDub
3. Create a text file as follows, in the same directory as ds004.avi

wutsdafps.avs
Code:
avisource("ds004.avi")
separatefields

4. Drag wutsdafps.avs into VirtualDub
5. Step through the video frame by frame and look for the pattern between unique and duplicate frames.

Hmm, yeah, I was wrong, it's only 30 fps. My bad, and thanks for the info.
Cool. Added to KB.
Waiting hurts my soul...
I noticed none of the values I asked for were added to anri-chan. Do you need me to come back and say you were right?
