I think this actually makes it fastest to skip faron twilight? It would skip kb, bite, a rupee dive, lanayru gate clip. Skipping faron twilight was about a minute slower before, this should make up more than that.

If i can get over the fence sooner, you can land on the other side of the fence after about 1 minute of jump slashing.

In this video, it takes me 5.5 minutes to get from south faron after killing the messengers to kakariko. Doing bit from forest temple instead of a new file would save about 35-40 seconds, so we're talking about 4:50. Make it 4:30 with better optimization.

From there, it would be:

30 seconds to hyrule field
37 seconds to get back to twilight
17 seconds to start fencehopping
1-2.5 minutes of jumpslashing
25 seconds to lja across and escape the fence
34 seconds to get to kakariko

If it takes 2.5 mins to get past the fence, that's 4:53 from warping to south faron to getting to kakariko. Obviously that's even slower than just doing bite, but if it could be done in one minute (3:23 total), that should make it a little faster to skip faron twilight.

Thoughts?

edit: forget it, i can't even jump over the fence at all again, let alone anywhere near where it would need to be done to be useful. It seems to be nothing short of a miracle that i managed to do it before. Even if it is possible, we're talking maybe 5-10 seconds saved at best, so it doesn't even seem worth the effort.

I don't even think it's possible to get over the fence at the first possible spot you can slide down and land on the other side anyway. That's actually where the invisible wall above the fence is the steepest; you cannot stay up with iron boots on there, but can just fine everywhere else on the fence.

Since this has been brought up a couple times (mostly by Ing), I would like to define No Major Skips for this game. Since this game is similar to Ocarina of Time in which you can do the big major skips (EMS, Map Glitch, CitS Early, etc.) without actually dead ending anything relevant, the major skips should be allowed as long as the respective dungeon prizes are obtained. In this case, the 3 fused shadows and the 4 mirror shards.

Having All Dungeons without restrictions as a NMS category is agreed upon by multiple runners including me, RobWest, Interslice, Mofat, and Paraxade. Parax didn't think this game really needed a NMS category (and to be honest, I don't either) but I figured this post needed to be made to prevent Ing from submitting a run towards an arbitrary goal that suits his choices because he doesn't want to have to do a few tricks.

I have no clue if this has been brought up before in this thread because I'm too lazy to read all the pages. >_>

I just want to know what people would call like separate categories(define them):

Major Skip(that's pretty much already obvious, skipping as much as you can and finish the game in the best time with everything you can get(getting OOB, using massive glitching, etc.))
But what's the difference between NMS and no-major skip(or all dungeons, Shard and shadows)?

In my opinion, TP doesn't really have any major skips. Sure, EMS and CitS save hours, but it doesn't skip enough to warrant a new category. EMS and CitS early aren't like Wrong Warp or RBA that skip 95% of the game. There is just no need. If you don't want to do EMS do 100% or glitchless.

That actually wasn't what the drama was about, but I agree with this. If Early Hyrule Castle is ever found I think that would be enough to warrant a NMS category (depending on the circumstance in which it is found, of course).

I don't really ever see ehc ever being possible. It's not even remotely possibly to get around the gate, unless we could get epona in there, which we can't.

The only possibility would be some kind of wrong warp, and i wouldn't keep your hopes up for that, considering the only way we currently know to ww is cheats only, and just seems to crash the game if done any other way.

It has to been submitted and accepted by then, so it's pretty much over. Someone would have to submit the run around a month ago for it to be accepted by then, because runs take around 3 months (sometimes longer) to post to the verification board.
