Still disagree with your stance on luck. :/ Is the run up on twitch or something so I can see what strats you're using?

Nah, I didn't stream it. I have the run ripped from the DVDs on my computer, so I could probably stream the recording or something later.

I still don't know if I can submit this thing. Counting the luck based mistakes, I had almost 7 minutes worth of time lost. I'm going to count up how much time Jiano lost in his run and see if he had any more than I did, then I'll decide whether or not I can submit.

EDIT: Jiano's 3:56 had over 8 minutes of mistakes, while mine only has 6-7. I think I can submit this, especially since the mistakes were very spread out as opposed to me failing one trick for 2 straight minutes.

EDIT: FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK. Turns out I forgot to count puppet zelda. Not only did I have more mistakes than Jiano, but my execution (non-luck) mistakes were almost twice as much as his. So I'm not submitting this after all.

That's a lot of poorly translated things to remember.  How many times have you gone through the route?

I rewrote most of it myself, I don't use Chimpas's [less than desirable] one. I've probably ran through the route like 8 or 9 times.

Are you going to post it to ZSR? It would be nice if you did so others intent on torturing their souls can have a more pleasent experience, ie: me

Yeah, it will be on ZSR when I clean it up a little bit.

If anyone could give me some advice that'd be great.
Well, my Twilight Princess disc is scratched.  Fuck.

Mine is too, and it still works fine in my GameCube. You may just need to recalibrate your lens (assuming you're using a GC, if you're using a Wii then I don't know what to tell you :/)
I'm on Wii.  I think I'll try to get it resurfaced on Monday.  If it doesn't work I guess I'll buy a new disc.

Interslice's disc gets scratched.
Rob's Wii drive breaks.
It's a sign.

Rob's Wii broke? That sucks.
I am going to just buy a new disk tomorrow.  My disc doesn't even look that bad, but I've got to shell out another $30 on Twilight Princess.  How much is the Japanese version going for now?

Edit:  Never mind, $83 is more than I want to spend on this game.

The map glitch doesn't work on jp anyway. Or at least not with z+left. I didn't test the other methods.

That's hilarious. I actually played on JP some more the other day and stopped right after clearing Lanayru twilight and dismissed there being any differences other than the text.
Did you use the actual JP version, or the text hack?
Speedrunning down a dream
I raced Pheenoh with the JP version a week or so ago and some stuff just felt slower. Load times felt especially slow but that probably isn't a version difference since I wasn't running from an official JP disc. Then again, I haven't played in forever, so I can't be 100% sure. I honestly doubt the JP version has any benefit, especially if the map glitch apparently doesn't even work.

Anyway, my Wii's disc drive appears to be broken (haven't tried putting a disc into it in over a week) but I still have my GC. One problem, I still have no desire to pick up this game and start running it again. Sub 3:50 single-seg just isn't the motivation it used to be.
I watched that.  I don't think that there was any difference in loading times.  Hyrule field always takes a long time to load.
I was pretty sure Skyward Sword was loading slower when I played the japanese version on a USB loader, so if that's what you're using it could be the same thing.

I was using a burned disc, actually.

Actual jp version. Someone in #zelda said the same thing awhile back as well.
Is Map Glitch the only thing that doesn't work?

I can tell I'm REALLY close to getting a submittable RTA time for this game. Last week I was on a run on track for 3:37 but choked on Zant (I couldn't quickspin for some retarded reason <_<), so I think I can get 3:37 or 3:38 if I can get another run going and not choke like a bitch. My only issue really is that S&S skip seems to randomly stop working for me; it's almost as if the game is completely changing the way the trick works every week (one week I'll get it down near 100% then the next week I'll do it the same goddamn way and not be able to get it for hours). I'm putting attempts on hold for now until I get my research paper for school done (I don't wanna be focusing on both this run and the paper at the same time - one of the two alone is already stressful enough <_<).
Yes, a cucco riding the ground.

Hehe, I know how that is. Just keep at it.
Gamestop says on their website that they have TP in stock.
Drive 10 miles to get there.
"Oh sorry,  we don't have Gamecube games anymore"

Fuck you.

wat

Every Gamestop near me still has GC games. What sorcery is this.

Also, always call them in advance. Always.
