With SS with resets, instead of the 2 yellow rupees on top of the house, it is faster to get 2 yellow rupees from a blown up boulder during the Telma escort. Telma's carriage is slow, so it hardly wastes any time at all. Also, breaking the rock before Deku Toad with B&C is probably too risky. Empty the bomb bag during the Telma escort and get water bombs in Lakebed.
Well, I never have trouble breaking the rock with B&C, so I'll probably stick with that (considering I don't think I can empty the bomb bag completely during Telma escort considering all the enemies you have to deal with, and I'm not sure if accidentally hitting the carriage with a bomb will blow it off course like the bird bombs will). Also, where are these rocks that you can blow up during Telma escort?
I did some timing for SS w/ resets, and it turns out that savewarps only save 3:49: 35 seconds in forest, 40 in arbiters, and 2:34 in CitS. If BiT saves 4:25 in segmented, then it saves ~4:05 in SS w/ resets since save+reset takes ~20 seconds. Therefore, the total time is ~7:54, not 10:00 as was assumed. So a perfect time for SS w/ resets (no mistakes) would be 3:34 (vs 3:42 for SS), making the respective goal times 3:40 and 3:48.
Speaking of which, I finished a TP SS w/ resets in 3:50 today. I still have no idea where I'm losing ~10 minutes (I made some pretty bad mistakes but probably not more than like 6-8 minutes), so I'll upload it to youtube later so people can give me advice.
For a run of this length, you may very easily be losing time from optimization that you simply can't notice. If you lose half a second every minute, that's 1 minute and 50 seconds over the course of the whole run.
Anyway, we will probably be able to help you further when you'll upload the video . but anyway, good job on your improvement since the beginning, if you're persistent with our help and persistence, you'll eventually succeed in this speedrun, I'm sure .
When you say it's not done processing, I assume that's why YouTube says "removed by the user". I look forward to seeing this run once it's actually up.
That doesn't explain where 10 fucking minutes is coming from though
10 minutes saved was just a bad guess on my part. I knew that resetting after certain parts would save several minutes overall, but I didn't actually time it to know the exact amount saved. Too bad it looks to save less than 8 minutes.
I meant the 10 minutes I lost in the run outside of the 5-7 minutes of mistakes that I had. I have no idea where I lost so much time. Sorry for the confusion.
I did some timing and came up with the following calculations comparing with Jiano's run (taking the timesavers into account):
Jiano start: 0:24 ingx24 start: 0:16 Difference at wolf: 3:54 (ingx24 ahead) Taming Epona: 1:03:28 to 1:08:20 = 4:52 Emptying bomb bag in lakebed: 1:49:36 to 1:50:21 = 0:45 Second water bomb chest in lakebed: 0:20
Jiano finished City in the Sky: 3:08:57 - 0:29 = 3:08:28 ingx24 finished City in the Sky: 3:00:27 + 13:44 (3:14:11) + 2:34 (savewarp) = 3:16:45 Difference: ingx24 losing 8:17
Final result: ingx24 losing 11:02 over Jiano's run from optimization Minus morpheel: ingx24 losing 8:40 over Jiano's run from optimization (forgot to take bad morpheel luck in jiano's run into account, too lazy to fix)
Time losses: Up to faron twilight: 0:02 Up to sacred grove: 0:13 Up to master sword: 0:08 Up to forest temple: 1:13 Forest Temple finished to Eldin Tears: 0:44 Eldin tears finished to Lanayru tears: 1:07 Lanayru tears finished to ball and chain: 0:07 B&C to Lakebed: 0:26 Lakebed: 0:27 Midna's Lament: 0:22 Midna's Lament to end of Arbiter's: 1:34 End of Arbiter's to end of CitS: -0:28 End of CitS to end of PoT: 1:41 End of PoT to end of game: 1:04 Total: 8:40
So I lost about 8:40 over Jiano's run due to optimization errors (and possibly slightly more mistakes due to luck). Sheeeeiiit.
