What's with your obsession with killing fish and goats? :? Nice segments by the way and good luck with the rest. That goes for that guy who is making the new any% run aswell.
Thanks for the compliments everybody. I'm gonnna do the run once more some time after I get the bounty to shave off every frame I can though. An example for that would be not getting hit in the last cave and better rupee manipulation in seg3. That will most likely last more than a year in total though so I can't do that for this first run sadly. Especially since I can't be sure that I'm the only one currently working on this run.
Wow, it's kinda spooky how the avatar tends to reflect the mood of a post, isn't it (is there some secret selection algorithm)? Anyway, what I've seen of the run so far, it seems to be of very high quality anyway, so I'll not be sad if I miss some potential frame optimizations
I wish I had more time to shave off 1-2 seconds from the goat herding but I only get a perfect cage opening about 2 times every hour. This is definitely a segment that could be improved if I had more time to do the run in. (and will be improved on my next go at the 100% category ^^)
P.S.: Aligning the boko's to shoot both with a single slingshot-shot each time is a pain in the ass as well.
I wish there was a way to turn off the irritating grunts he makes every time you roll, apart from that this is simply glorious to watch!
And is it just me who thought that it looked like the top of Link's buttocks were showing in the crawling section? Confused me till I realised it was his shirt.
I loved killing both with one round of slingshot shots, I wasn't even aware that that is possible. Excellent work, a second or two could have been taken off the goat herding, but that's extremely frustrating, and ~19 seconds isn't too bad at all.
Is it possible to collect the rupees which come off of the two bokoblins by walking to the correct spot after defeating them (before the cutscene starts)?

Not if you kill them both at the same time. If you kill them delayed and sidehop to the right spot (skipping the rupee collection dialogue) you can pick up one blue rupee from them.
meh... maybe I'm just a perfectionist, but I think it looks like there's a lot of room for improvement in these segments honestly. Segments 2-5 are all slower than my unfinished run. For instance (I'm not manually timing them, just looking at the timestamps) Segment 4 looks to be 3:50; my old 100% was 3:43. Segment 5 looks to be around 4:04. My old 100% was 4:00 and TLoZSR's was 3:58.
I'm glad you're gonna give it a second shot later on though, hopefully all the little inoptimizations can be buffed out then.
It seems like your loading times are faster for some reason. Especially on segment 5 there is no way I lost 4 seconds compared to your old run (I atleast don't see any mistakes that add up to 4 seconds). Maybe I'm missing something though ? My gamecube has problems loading discs on startup so the laser could be the cause but I'm not sure. I'm well aware of possible improvements in some of the segments though but I just don't have the time to work on every segment as much as I want currently for obvious reasons.
The only thing that really sticks out to me in segment 5 is around 3:14; if you do a dash jump off the crate then you can get up on top of the ledge without climbing it so you lost some time there, maybe half a second or a second? I'm not totally sure where the last 3 seconds are coming from, it seems like it's probably just minor stuff; the loading thing is also a possibility, MP3 gave me the same kind of problems.
Just so you know, it's good to keep in mind how dashing with Wolf Link works when you jump off ledges. After you dash there's a set amount of time before you can dash again (obviously). If you dash and then immediately jump off a ledge then you'll be able to dash again as soon as you land. If you jump off a ledge in mid-dash then you'll slow down after landing and have to wait the normal amount of time to be able to dash again. So usually if you're about to jump off a ledge it's better not to dash until you get closer, that way you won't be stuck walking after you land.

If I get the bounty I'll invest in a new gamecube so my next twilight princess 100% will have proper loading times. It really seems to be what causes 90% of the timing difference for segment 5 and ~3 seconds is quite alot.
P.S.: Thanks for the dashing tip.
P.P.S.: I'm as much of a perfectionist which is why I'm going to give this run another shot when I have the proper equipment and more time to do the run in.
Glad to hear it. I've decided against doing a 100% myself, but I'd still really like to see it done well, so hope I'm not coming across too nit-picky.
No not at all. I'm usually extremly nit-picky as well. It's just that the circumstances don't allow that at the moment. I'm gonna do everything I can to make my next attempt at the 100% category as perfect as possible which probably won't happen too soon after this is done because I'm sure I'd wanna stay clear of tp for atleast a few months haha ^^
I think those few seconds lost in segment 5 were that you got no quick midna jumps. If you mash a fast enough you can jump immediately after advancing through the text, check out my segment if you don't know what I'm talking about. there's 3 places you can do it, I only get two of the three, but it saves some time...
tbh I never forced myself to get the quick Midna jumps, they're frame specific and only save a second or so each. My 100% segment 5 only got one and I believe I've gotten around that low without getting any, so I dunno...
I randomly picked some loading times to compare them and mine are definitely slower which sucks. Pretty much gonna have to stick with that though and hope that my gamecube doesn't die before the run is finished :/ Thanks for the tip TLoZSR I didn't know about that one yet. I'll keep that in mind and try to mash harder on the midna jumps with text.
