With mine and Pewable's time down to almost 2:30, I'm tempted to say yes, as long as no door clipping is done (i.e. elevator skip). I do think PC still has somewhat of an advantage, though. for now I would just say that as long as all runners in the race agree and maybe PC runners stream to confirm they dont use the clip it should be fine. maybe someone else has a better argument then me on this for either side.
Im so depressed I left my Tomb Raider copy at college so I wont be able to stream any TR during the weekend Congrats to everyone getting sub 3 :D! I need to start playing again to get sub 3 haha.
No day is a complete day without finding new skips right? So here are todays skips:
This skip was pretty much inspired by Cryptic, because I think he mentioned to me once that it might be possible to skip the house so I had to test and found this, pretty easy and pretty early... pretty sure this is faster.
So here is another easy not so easy skip, sadly I wasnt able to test how much time this actually saved because I forgot to backup my save before recording this : P. Should easily save time imo, skips a fight and the annoying part where you have to fight against the wind and walk on a small ledge etc, as well as 3 enemys in the last room.
Ahaha from the lower part are you for real? I was playing with the ledge above that. Shame it's only minor but still hell yeah Looks like it's a good thing I didn't just post a particular route then :3
In regards to the monastery skip, what is the not so easy part? The beginning? Just curious is all.
Wow L0rdy you rule. Try the first one yesterday but guess I was way to the let to do the jump. And the second, try it too but not from here... Did you see my door clip?
Also, I was able to empty the room before the one where you are helping Jonah etc. (the room where there are guys praying) ... I think you have to die once at the top of the climing part before it, then they will not be here anymore. I don't think it saves time though.
First of all, once you hit Mountain Village you are confronted with MANY items and areas that are sealed by rope doors and shotgun gates. Usually wouldn't be a problem, but remember this is 22 odd minutes into a run, so you definitely don't have the XP to get C.A to roll-clip.
As for the areas I've only routed a few (up to Base Exterior). Coastal Forest is the only footage at the moment because Mountain Temple would benefit greatly in its 100% route from that skip, unfortunately I have no idea how it works. The rest is still all being finalised.
Coastal Forest 100% Route (roughly 8 minutes RTA)
Now seems a suitable time to start pulling out Tomb Skips, so here you go.
Tomb of the Unworthy Skip (Located near Wolf Cave in Mountain Village)
Figured as I am still going ahead to continue final routing, I'd post what I had for Mountain Temple. Also includes my own little nifty skip within the house (thanks thumbnail) although no large gap jump. Funnily enough L0rdy's skip saves 100% a little time then loses a lot because you have to get an alternate lantern which involves killing the two guys and going around the house they are near.
I know I'm the only one really intent on 100 right now, but just in general, do you think it would be more appreciated if I posted the multi-visit locations per visit, or put all visits together in one video? E.g Mountain Village w/Visit 1 (Initial), Visit 2 (Post-Base Exterior) and Visit 3 (Post Monastery Clean Up). Or would that just be too confusing for someone to learn with? Chronological or Locational? Let me know.
Everything I tried but failed... works in the end ;-; ! Going to try it... Funny to let them still in cage. Nice L0rdy.
Oh and I can't do your house skip because when I am at the end of the ledge, if I do roll > jump, Lara will fall, I don't know if it will be pc only. I will wait if Brassmaster can do it or not. Even if I am not at the end of the ledge, if I do roll > jump, Lara wins a little more space between her and the ledge, but it fails.
So, nice skip in the house Cryptic, going to use it.
Pewable did you hold forward while trying do dodge then jump? Because if I do that I fall down too. You have to get yourself positioned right then dodge without holding a direction and then quickly hold forward and jump. Hope that helps and works for you!
Tried again but with no result. I tried while taking an arrow before walking at the end of the end (like I did in the Radio Tower) , but it doesn't work, maybe it will on hard I don't know.
First tests of MV Visit 1 wielded confusion. The second time through now I think I get the route well enough. First visit gets 2 Camps, 1 Document, 1 Relic, 4 GPS Caches, 1 Tomb (Tomb Skip above) and only one of the Egg Poacher targets. Zero progress on the Illumination challenge because there are none in the bee-line and I presume it will faster to do them when you have access to the Lighter (or Fire Arrows? I don't even know if they work).
Shame you come to MV again just before Monastery, or the third visit wouldn't be inevitable
Oh good to know, guess that 3rd visit is now Post-Shanty Town. Even if I have to get right up in their face it's still faster than lighting the torch etc etc
oh L0rdy.... you are too cool. I'll try that skip next weekend when I get back.
Pewable, I attempted that skip for about an hour with no luck, trying all sorts of different methods as well as trying to find a different route. It may be PC only
Cryptic, I would say post chronological rather then location, it will make things easier to follow for someone learning the game. Like with what I did for LC GoL, I'll post a speedrun walkthrough for this game, starting with 100% since I want to wait a while for any%.
