When you arrived at the shandytown, don't go to the chopper, go at the opposite of it (to the right after killing the ennemies) .
Do a walljump here then go to the platform :
Now go to the door, the cutscene will trigger, reload and Lara can roll and climb again. Kill everybody but not the shield guy, do my door clip:
Kill him by shooting at his foot (you have to shot at the low part of the door or else he is not hurt) ... Then, FIND A WAY to do the beginning of the geothermal caverns without a fire arrow. I think it is the last obstacle because we can skip saving Lara's friends with L0rdy's skip. Maybe pc players can clip the things in front of the gas...
If you go back at the chopper after the cutscene at the door, nothing will happen.
I was messing around in the Geothermal Caverns and set off one of the gas vents with just the torch and survived, I believe it was on easy mode so I'm not sure if you get killed on normal/hard.
If you have the health skill, you will not die (on hard too, if I remember well) ... The problem is that you need to set fire to the first gas in order to destroy things in front of it :/ ... We can't be next to this damn gas because of those scraps!
Yeah, doesnt seem possible to light the gas even with the torch. There is rubble blocking you infront of the gas. Would be a funny skip tho ;). That reminds me of the theoretical possible skip of "The Endurance" you could go there only grab the ascender and if you'd manage to escape after there fight where you get it you would skip the whole rescuing Max part. But I couldnt find a way to escape it, only a few loose ends.
Max? You mean Alex? So sad the skip doesn't work... I found a little glitch during Alex's puzzle, an useless one. You need to throw an arrow at the thing at the top of the room then backwalk to the electricity. The icon will glitch if done correctly. Sometimes the camera will block herself until you touch the electricity once again. It's funny because when you touch the X / square input, you can see the icon filling up... I was also able to jump on the thing at the top once.
MV2 should be up a little later today. Got a little tweaking first to see if I can breach an early item at the beginning with C.A. Turns out as it is now I get Climber's Agility at the campfire for Tomb of Ascension.
Speaking of that place, OoB monkeys should play with this place (no offence intended, I am one too). Not for any form of progress, even if I did find a way to get up to the tomb from OoB it'd take way longer than necessary anyway, but just to play around.
Kudos to the first person to find out how to trigger MV reloading from inside the tomb. Furthest I've got is standing on top of the exit hallway confused about load triggers. Sometimes it's just fun to fuck around :3
Expect another post later, possibly with two routes, CM shouldn't take that long given the skips we have at our disposal (pretty sure even with needing to drop into the camp from OoB you save time over just doing the first shotgun fight.
EDIT:By mistake screwed up saves so I played through 100 Hard up until Radio Tower again, timed it, 48 minutes Good progress. Also just afterwards came across really nasty bug. During the radio puzzle I somehow changed to the other tuner when the first one wasn't in the right place. So I was left there spinning for eternity, so I checkpointed naturally. Guess where last checkpoint is? Just after killing shield guy O_O Watch out for this one guys.
Hey I don't know if this was mentioned but there is a little faster version of the bunker skip that I found easier to do than the slightly longer version of jumping to the pole then ladder.
You can just grab right onto the upper platform.
An upside of this is that if you miss you usually just grab the pole, unless you overshoot to the left.
That is actually the first version I found but never posted, because I couldnt make that happen while enemys were in the room. They shoot you instantly down : / atleast thats how it was for me. The other version seemed to work far better while enemys are around.
So I've marked both visits to MV with an extra item that I actually didn't get in the videos. Just being stupid my bad >_> I've got the change in the visit descriptions but I'll paste them here anyway. Wait what's that? Both visits? Oh yeah shit haven't even put this here yet.
ROUTE CHANGE: Hehehe. Oops. At 0:55 there is clearly a giant cave area to go into. Just within is a statue you want to use fire with. My bad. Nothing major at least ^_^
Here is the change for MV1: ROUTE CHANGE: In this video I missed a GPS Cache I definitely should have got. At 5:55 there is a Cache on the bottom floor of the building on the left. New strats are to kill all three enemies and drop down after getting eggs instead of going across on the pole and over.
MV3 uploading right now. That beast of a place will be wrapped up hopefully shortly after or even during Shantytown.
Checked for a good while in Chasm Monastery to see if there was a way to get into the camp fast and then also do the skip, but no dice. CM 100 is definitely faster in-bounds. So no video for that, as you get 100% there naturally when you just play in-bounds.
Hello all, I'm new here and TR (PC version) is the first game I try to "speed"run ever soooo.. I'm a noob. A. complete. french. noob. (...aaaand my english is awful) ...I'm sorry to disturb you
I have two little questions to ask : - I can't do the roll-jump-roll to go through a door, is there a specifical timing to do it? (I can do the elevator skip with a grenade but it seems a little longer, and I can't go easily through every doors with it)
- I can't do the jump in the last area. Lara don't jump high enough and hit the barrier of the last bridge. Sometimes I can do another jump to go on the bridge but it isn't safe. Any idea of what I lack? (skill? yeah, I know)
Thanks for the all the skip you found. I often watch speedruns but it's fun to try to do it by myself
Welcome, glad to see more people interested in this game! Don't worry about english, we mainly speaking in videos here anyway
Roll jump rolling through every door doesn't work, or at least for me it doesn't. Only a few of them. You are on the PC version you say, go to Options and set V-Sync to Triple Buffer. For whatever technical reason this makes most clips easier and changes the physics just slightly.
Watching Pewable's run between today and tomorrow (not a lot of down time). There are some interesting strats and some silly small shortcuts I'm shocked I haven't thought of before. I cant wait to start running this again this weekend!
About the faster bunker skip: you can also jump to the second pillar after breaking the first one, but I think it is less risky to do the normal way. Golden tip: be sure that the machine-gun is not right below you when you jump to go to the 3 floors. Kill him then you can jump safely.
Scouting ahead in the route, looks like both Grim Skip and Friendship Skip ( ) can be fully utilised in 100%. Probably going to do Shanty Town in two videos, so I can focus as much on optimising the route through the battles as possible
That's a better name than Geothing caverns thingy skip. Did you pc players try to clip the scraps at the beginning of the Geothermical caverns (after the blood bath) ? I have the feeling you guys can clip through them.
Never tried to, but considering it's near and I have C.A I'll give it a look when I pass it. STown is just taking way too much of my brain's capacity atm. Oh god finally. Finished ST Pt.1. It'll be up later. The enemy manip required for 100% in this place is insane.
@Pewable I tried your skip of the fire arrows and went up to Geothermal Caverns with it. Couldnt make it past the scraps there, at that point we dont have Climbing agility or the melee attack sadly, still tried to find stuff around there and doesnt seem likely that there is anything that allows us to skip it.
