Is part 11 still in limbo? I rewatched the previous 10 and and my OCD tendencies won't let me watch the new ones until I've caught back up ::).

Oh sorry, I just meant that it hadn't appeared on the playlist. Part 11 is here, though I think it's called part 1 when you download it for some reason. Don't believe the lies!

Edit: 18 is up, I think I mixed up the words 'mission' and 'segment' quite a few times in the midst of my 'just about to collapse' voice, as well as finding nothing interesting or amusing to say about the drunken brits, enjoy!

Damn, it just keeps getting better.

17 was probably about as close to perfect as ever, but 11 was probably the most impressive simply due to the length, all the driving, and the massive potential for something going wrong. But it all went well.

Did the AK-47 strategy work on the PC version? (Even though the car-jacking strategy is faster. :P)

I put a video up of the AK47 / M4 strategy for High Noon a few days ago. I know you've already done the segment, but that way you can see how I usually do it.

It may only work on the original PS2 version. It looks like something they obviously didn't plan on working. Ie. a glitch. So I don't know if the glitch carries over on other versions. Also, you mentioned "rifle" in the audio commentary, so I'm not sure if you tried the *assault rifles* (AK and M4) or the regular long-range rifles, etc, which wouldn't work.

The AK47 and M4 have really high *close-range* firepower, and that damages the car for some reason, so that is probably part of the glitch.

Wow, I've seen numerous segments and I'm impressed.

I've just a question...

Do you think it's possible to complete the game (any%) single-segment in less than 8 hours?

On the SS 100% threat people expressed concerns with the maximum duration that screen recording programms support.

Would they be able to record 8h straight??

Fraps splits its AVIs into 4GiB files that can be joined together by (for example) VirtualDub and then processed by encoding apps. So it really just depends on the size of the hard drive.

At an estimate of 20GiB per hour of video, an 8-hour run (edit: sorry, thought we were talking about 100%) would take 160GiB of space.

Well, because I own the game on PS2 (and I don't own it on PC), if I have (in my dreams...) a DVD recorder with a hard drive, it would be possible to record 8 hours straight (even 80 hours straight on few expensive models...).

And the 7:46 (the actual segmented console record) can be beaten with less errors, more route-planning and surely, the removal of the necessity to go to a save point to save.

what kind of res are you recording with?

I'm basing it on stuff I recorded at 640x480 and 30fps in Fraps. I get 11:34 per 4GiB file uncompressed. Round that up to 12 minutes and you get 5 files for an hour = 20GiB.

Heya, happy new year and all that, have another couple of segments!

We're into a bit of a gray area in terms of precision now, territories are horrible, I hope you can see the positive side though.

I've no idea when segment 24 will be around, lots of things are happening but I'm attempting as much as I can.

Also, for controlling the Hydra more easily while in hover mode, I found lowering the landing gear really helps a lot. Then it handles pretty much exactly like a helicopter and is very easy to control. Smiley

If you want to find the gang members in the territories easier just fire your gun once or twice and usually gang members will come to attack you. So that could make starting the gang wars easier.

Thanks for the positive feedback on Vertical Bird, knowing about the landing gear would've saved a lot of frustration but I don't think it would save time thankfully.

Regardless, segment 24 is up! It didn't take as long to do as I thought, I just got so very lucky. At one point (right at the end of course) I had no health for a couple of seconds but neglected to mention it on the commentary.

The shooting to attract people might prove useful, I didn't need it here since they were out in the open when I got there, but there's lots more of the same to come...
