Actually all of them cards I mentioned are conveniently near. Watchitt card may take about 10 secs to get but the others should be really quick. Get the InterNed card when your dropping the fish off before chapter 4.

Sorry if this is stupid question but i just wanted to ask if the levelling up in part 2 of your run was worth it?

yes.

Very worth it saves a lot of time against bosses. Still levelling his attack up to 6 would've been better. You should have  HP level up in chapter 2 or 3 and an attack up in chapter 4 if you're lucky.
This sentence is funny. Admit it, you laughed.
Are any HP or Power Pluses close enough to the paths taken to be worthwhile? Cause if they are, then they'd probably help you enough to skip a level up or two.

And again, just killing enemies along the way (which is needed to level up, anyway) would give you the coins needed for the pipe by the time Chapter 2 is over, and not having 300 coins by the end of Chapter 5 is only possible if you don't kill any enemies, which would also mean a severe case of being underleveled. In other words, if I were to be doing this run, a basic coin collection route up to between Chapters 5 and 6 would be like this (since this is my first route plan ever, reader, beware, you're in for a SCARE):

Chapter 1: Hit blocks for coins, kill any that get in the way, and flip for more coins whenever possible.
Intermission: Sell any unneeded items, kill enemies (if I'm correct about there being some on the way to the heart pillar), etc.
Chapter 2: Hit more coin blocks, kill more enemies, more flipping for coins, and all that stuff.
Intermission: Same as last time.
Chapter 3: Coin blocks, enemies, flip flop! MOVE, MAGGOTS!
Intermission: Same thing, but this time go to space and choke due to lack of air, then go get a fishbowl and put a Bomberman thingy on it, and use as space helmet.
Chapter 4: Same thing as last chapter, but do most of it acting like it's Gradius or something. Get elder's offer down to 10 coins, and go for Pigarithims if needed.
Intermission Impossible: Same as last.
Chapter 5: Same deal as previous chapters. Make sure coin count is 300 or more before fighting King Croacus, if a small amount is needed, go kill some Floro Sapiens. If over 20 coins is needed, restart from the beginning of chapter 5-1.
Intermission: Spend coins on pipe between Flipside and Flopside.

That's what I would do.

Actualy having 300 coins after chapter 4 is what I meant but I think it may well be faster to get it after chapter 5 but if you get it in chapter 4 that's one less long journey.
This sentence is funny. Admit it, you laughed.
I don't think the pipe is available until after Chapter 5, but I'm not sure if that's really the case, so it may actually be available from the moment you first enter Flopside. I'm not going to start a new game and get that far just to find out, though.
CTTR Master and Spyro 2 Master
You can buy it first trip coz I did that in a test run.
This sentence is funny. Admit it, you laughed.
All right, that takes one extra trip through the cathedral place off the list. And 300 coins by the end of Chapter 4 is just as easy as having them by the end of Chapter 5, because you acquire all you need by Chapter 2 anyway.

This isn't speedrun related, but I've just beaten 8-2 (decided to skip Dashell), and I'm glad to see that there's actually some challenge to be seen in these final bosses, though it's sadly not that much. I was planning on switching to Bowser for O'Chunks, anyway, because again, Bowser/Carrie = 'Super Special Awesome Boss Destroyer'. I was planning on using that same combo for the rest of the bosses ahead, but that plan was shot quickly for obvious reasons. My O'Chunks strategy was at first to let him hit me once, then abuse the period of invincibility by holding down so he gets a foot full of 20 points worth of burns. However, I then realized it'd be easier to just move out of the way and then abuse the fire's mechanics so he gets a 1-2 combo from one burst of fire. My Mimi strategy wasn't special at all, and now that I think of it, I had 2 Thunder Rages (neither from Mimi's questions, one was purchased in the Pit, other was gotten from an enemy, also in the Pit), and I wish I just used those instead of jumping and throwing like a boring, unoriginal person. Hopefully, the Dimentio and Count Bleck/Blumiere battles will be harder. Or Count Bleck then Dimentio? Stupid Wikipedia, can't keep spoilers to themselves. At least all I read was "false antagonist" in Bleck's and "true antagonist" in Dimentio's. The details are still unknown to me.

I  think it'd be best to work out a good coin plan. If you were just basically collecting and you had 300 coins by Chapter 2 you would be detouring too much. If you had3 300 coins by the end of chapter 4 then that would be better.
This sentence is funny. Admit it, you laughed.
You might have a point there. Still, 300 isn't exactly an amount you have to waste a lot of time to get in this game. Seriously, 200 coins by the end of Chapter 2 is almost guranteed if you just kill enemies on the go. And if for some weird reason you don't have enough by the start of Chapter 4-4, the Pigarithims (sp?) say "OH GOD STOP KILLING ME".

i mean they say "hi"

By watching 1 of a sarous segment I figured a possible timesaver which I will try tommorow. In the area where you need to jump across some platforms to get a to a pipe where there is a key. At the start if you flip the 3d block to 2d and throw the squig on it then get him to shoot a seed. Follow the seed and use it for a boost upto the pipe platform. Probably doesn't save any time anyway. But still cool.
sarou: any progress on the run recently?

Nope, I've been working with other projects. I'll get back to this when I finish those.

Should I make a Super Paper Mario wiki?
This sentence is funny. Admit it, you laughed.
I've borrowed the game from my older brother, so I might be able to do some tests on some things I'm thinking of. Mainly to try out possible timesavers and to get material for an enemy/boss guide I might write up. If I go through with it, I'll definitely attempt to confirm the specifics of my Mimi 6-2 speed strategy, mainly how speedy it really is. And I'll check to see if I'm right about the coin thing. Of course, this is all assuming I actually do so.
CTTR Master and Spyro 2 Master
Right now I'm working on a scratchpad wiki on this game with generel run info(run categories, routes, and more) also like in the SMG wiki I will go through every chapter listing timesavers and things to take note of. Maybe it will help the next runner.

Remember my post about this super-fast Mimi 6-2 strategy and how I thought I was the first to discover it?

Start watching at 8:53. Sad

Yeah, turns out this guy on YouTube discovered it less than a month before I did. At least as far as I know, I can still claim to be the first to talk about it and suggest it. And I don't have to test it or make a video. It's just that it seemed like it was going to be my first real discovery in a video game, and when I saw this on some guy's account while looking for 3-player videos of the Alien VS Predator arcade game kinda surprised and disappointed me.
CTTR Master and Spyro 2 Master
Whoa that is a cool trick. But how do you actually do it. Do you just jump with carrie and press down to flame her?
This sentence is funny. Admit it, you laughed.
Well, yeah. That's it. An easy 40 second or so improvement to the current run, right there! Makes me wish I was the first to discover it even more. I was the one who found it on my very first try, after all.
Complete. Global. Saturation.
Whoa, I had no idea you could pick up King Croacus like that. It's pretty funny to see it actually happen. His strategy for Mr. L is really good too.

Don't feel bad Freaky Mutant Man; so what if you weren't the first to discover it? You thought that up on your own, right? And it was on your first playthrough that you found it, and it saves a good chunk of time. I wouldn't get to worked up about it.
This sentence is funny. Admit it, you laughed.
Well, I really didn't think about it. My instinct to use Bowser and Carrie to their full potential just happened to really pay off in this case. Really, just abusing Bowser and Carrie correctly in almost every boss fight really takes time off in each case. Seriously, the only boss that comes to mind as being unimproved by using Bowser/Carrie is Bonechill, and he's easily owned by abusing Luigi.

well, finally I got myself to continue with this.

I decided to redo part20 because of that Return Pipe thingy and I couldn't manipulate a Stop Watch drop in "part21", I just didn't get any drops at all. I'll manage without one. So, this plays both part20 and part21 together now. 5 minutes faster than MrGuy: 1:47 vs 1:52
