Obscure games ftw
Quote from marsonioic:
it took me forever to figure it out, i can give you tips if you want.

I've read how to do it on several sites, but only managed a second flutter once.
That, and I wouldn't speedrun this game, more just for fun.  But glitching is also fun Wink
MrGrunz is a guay
Looking at the star times, melty monster 1 & 2 are about 7 seconds faster than shiverburn 1 & 2.  Add the extra CM and they're about even, maybe leaning more towards shiverburn.  I know the times listed wont be nearly as fast in an SS, but they would probably have about the same amount of time difference.  Prince pikante isn't exactly the nicest boss either so you could get an unlucky fight which would tip the scale in melty monsters favor since it has no randomness.  Also, could the melty monster CM be gotten instead of Megahammers?  It doesn't take as much time if you're using the flutter trick at the end of megahammer.

Either way it seems about even so it would probably just be runner preference.  The main reason I mentioned it is because I wanted to get rid of clockwork ruins, but I completely forgot you need 1 CWR star to get to throwback >_>.  Oh well.

and thus, beat the game.
I hate the Clockwork Ruins Galaxy as well (curse those purple coins!)
Yes, runner preferences is what it all boils down to.  I personally have better times on shiverburn than melty monster, so...
super mario is amazing
eh, IDK, Prince Pikante is kind of annoying, so if a run is SS, you might want to do melty monster, but if it's segmented, then you might want to do shiverburn.

I will hopefully have Battle Belt 1 posted by Sunday at worst. which of the purple coin challenges that doesn't have a time yet do you think would be the easiest to run?

Go with the Flip-Swap flip n' sprint. I was working on it for a while and it's not too bad. Just try to route it to have the smallest amount of backtracking and waiting, also without having to flip between every pile of coins.
Actually, I was thinking the opposite; Melty monster for a segmented run since rolling lane's ending is so hard, and prince pikante+octo ice romp for SS.  Melty monster is faster than shiverburn when done perfectly.
Obscure games ftw

Prince Picante seens sort of random, but the romp is definitely easy and quick.
A Stroll Down Rolling Lane tip: at the end, aim at the middle of the first bumper, hit it, then don't adjust your angle.  You'll hit the scond one, and be able to jump into the box and get the star easier.  Or you can use the jump trick I've heard about.

wow that shortcut in the first hightail falls vid is great. keep up the awesome work.
Obscure games ftw
Nice work on the Wild Glide Green Star, those were really annoying.
I thought Cosmic Clones in the Chompworks was already optimized (from an earlier vid), but no, you improve your old record... by a hundreth of a second.
GWAHAHAHAHA!
I'm in the middle of planning a 242 star route.

I'm sometime going to make a 242 star run, but will not submit it to SDA cause I know it will have bad quality and lots of mistakes (Mistakes in the perfect run).

18. Fluzzard's First Flight (Comet Medal 11)
Segment 6
19. Twin Falls Hideaway (Comet Medal 12)

That's all I got so far.
You can't have more than one star per segment in this game. It saves automatically after each star.

Yes you can. You can keep going until you want to end the segment. You can simply copy the file before doing a segment, then delete the file and copy it back when you mess up a segment.

EDIT: Unless you can't copy files.

You can't copy files, sadly.

Although, I don't have enough room to copy a file if we could (too bad we can't) unless I delete my sister's file (she never used it).
...You still can copy it onto a SD card.

GWAHAHAHAHA!
I don't have a SD card.

7:15.xx - Bowser's Fortified Fortress (Bowser's Galaxy Generator)

Still trying to get six minutes, as it is possible (someone on cyberscore got 6 minutes)
How do you have files for ANYTHING without owning an SD card? You must have no WiiWare/Virtual Console games at all...
GWAHAHAHAHA!
I have virtual console games. Just no WiiWare (I'm never getting those)

Let's get back on topic, let's not discuss SD cards.
A bunch of awesome games are WiiWare. World of Goo... D:

It is on topic. I was saying that you should get an SD card or change the segment division.
GWAHAHAHAHA!
Don't care.

BYE!

~Clamshot (that's what i want to be called from now on)

There are 2 ways that can be improved, but it's hard to explain them.
