Battle Belt Green Star 1, 00:51.90!

Looks good. I know you can triple jump to the next planet after getting the fire flower, but you killed the Urchins so fast, it would probably be slower. One thing I can say is that you only need to do a double jump to the Green Star at the end, and that will save you a little time.

Thanks. I've been attempting Purple Coin Flip N Sprint and Battle Belt Green Star 2, on the former my current goal is sub-1:45, on the latter, I'd probably post anything below 2:00 at this point.

Now, can you guys just use the youtube vid with only the link, or do I have to attach the file? BTW, it's VHS dubbed to DVD, asked in tech support and found out that's allowed.
If you mean to be hosted on SDA, you would need to send in the raw file (so don't delete it). They could use the YouTube video for verification maybe, but part of that is determining video quality.

I mean to get put on the IL table. Can you guys just use the youtube video? I could just send in the file once the IL table is finished.

EDIT: nvm, already on the IL table, awesome Smiley will send the file in once every star is finished.
GWAHAHAHAHA!
1:22.23 - Lava Lair Speed Run (Bowser's Lava Lair)

Amazing run.

It was hard to do this. I got to one of the platforms on the first part of the second planet without having to spin, then going to the edge and long jumping to do the first lava shortcut right before it flips.

I got the 6-life mushroom (required for getting a time as fast as this :D)
After some testing and all the comments about the 71 star route, I have finally changed it to include Melty Monster 1+2.  I'm still not totally convinced its a good idea, but whatever.
Obscure games ftw

Make two routes then, one with and one without.
They should be 90% the same.
GWAHAHAHAHA!
I added some stars to my route on the Run Routes page.
I still have to work on planning it, but I did get to World 4's stars! I also got a segment planned for Sky Station's comet, Yoshi Star's comet, and The Chimp's Stomp Challenge in Fluffy Bluff!

Well, this route is going really well so far. If you have any improvements for this route, just tell me!
So you'll be using a SD card to segment right? How does that work?

Spin-Dig Galaxy- Digga-Leg's Daredevil Run- 1:08.70

I don't know when I'll have the video up, unfortunately. Sad

Just updated my route.

I will, but I'm not sure.

Just realized I do have an SD card Cheesy Maybe should notice that next time.
edit: Updated my route alot more. I just got my route up to my 150th star.
edit #2: updated and finished my route, but something is wrong, it only goes up to 239 stars. Did I miss some green stars?
There should be 1 green star for every normal star in a galaxy.
Obscure games ftw

You missed the Throwback Galaxy Green Stars.

Oh thanks, I have no name.

Also, can someone check if my route is possible? I'm not sure if the entire route is possible.

edit: 1:04.78 - Green Star 1 (Rightside Down Galaxy)

Went Well.

14.80 - Green Star 1 (Fluffy Bluff Galaxy)

I love fluffy bluff. This run was amazing.

nice hackjack attempting green star 2 of rightside down. kind of annoying strat with the lack of grav changes, but doable. I think 1:45 might be my goal, again... and also, just realized one drill gets the star at the end of digga-leg's daredevil run. FAIL, now I need to improve my time.

GWAHAHAHAHA!
As soon as I'm allowed to play SMG2, I'll try to attempt to speedrun Digga-Leg's planet (while mashing A when I'm going to the starshroom planet so I can jump and skip talking to the Toad Brigade Captain) until I get it right.
edit: I'm in progress of planning a 71-star segmented route (Not for me to use, for you guys to use). I got up to World 2's Puzzle Plank Star 1.
super mario is amazing
HackJack, you forgot to include feeding the hungry lumas in your 242-star route. Star bit collection would probably be incorporated into the levels. I know it makes optimization a lot harder, but there are a lot of star bits in boss arenas/launch star paths. In other words, star bits that don't lose much time. The route still looks good, though! Even with 56 segments, I would probably watch an entire 242-star run right now, it would just be epic.

By the way, slightly new strat on Digga-Leg's Daredevil Run improved my time to 1:06.80! Still probably won't have the vid up for a while, though.
Starshine Beach Galaxy - Green Star 1 - 33.21

Sweet Mystery Galaxy - Bulb Berry's Purple Coin Glow - 1:00.40

marioman99, I think Klar has 1:03.xx on Digga-Leg's Daredevil Run but I'm not sure of his strategy since I have never tried that star yet.
GWAHAHAHAHA!
I put up a little bit of an 120 star speedrun (single-segment) route for the people to see.

I'll update it in a little.
super mario is amazing
nice new vids packattack, purple coin glow must be hard to speedrun...

and btw i will search for that on youtube, but I have not found any speedruns of it in previous searches.

He didn't say klar uploaded it on youtube. Klar just got that time once, but never uploaded a video.

I'm sure sub 1 minute is possible on Digga-Leg's Daredevil Run. (Someone not on cyberscore might have gotten sub 1 minute)

nemi, someone who posted in this thread earlier (isn't posting in this thread really actively) got 1:35.xx on Bowser Jr.'s Boomsday Machine in Bowser Jr.'s Boom Bunker. It's nice.

edit:

52.45 - The Shadow Lining (Cloudy Court Galaxy)
This went well. Tons of long jumps. Cheesy
53.55 - Purple Coin Shadow Vault (Puzzle Plank Galaxy)
Well, this wasn't how I expected it to be. It's not easy to speedrun (lack of some jumps and missing some purple coins) so I got a slow time. It was still under one minute. Smiley
1:04.xx - Green Star 2 (Bowser's Lava Lair)
This was awesome. The fact that I long jumped right to the green star is nice. I thought everything went O.K. here.
super mario is amazing
HackJack, sloobro's time was 41.25 on PC Shadow Vault... and I think packattack may have gotten 36.xx. Post the other vids or links to them, though! Smiley

GWAHAHAHAHA!
I know that they got those times. I'm just not good at the level, so my time is horrible.

Also, soon I might work on my segmented 242-star run. I might try uploading from my sister's webcam.

edit: My 120 star single segment route was updated.
How are you going to do the segments? HOW DO YOU USE THE SD CARD?
HOW?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
You do the first star and save. Then you go to the wii menu, and copy the SMG2 data to the SD card. Then you attempt the segment. If you fail, you delete the Wii file and then copy the file from the SD card back onto your wii. If you succeed, you delete the file on the SD card and copy the Wii file onto it.

Simply put, you have a file on the Wii console and on the SD card and you replace them as you succeed/fail.
