not sure if money is useful in the run, but the piles of dirt clinging to walls can be 1shot if you shovel them while they're mid air
Just noticed it looks like you can skip dream sequences my press START as well.
(Correct me if I'm wrong)

While money is tight, we get basically what we need from the bosses and naturally during the levels, there actually isn't any need to grab any extra. If we have to, I think the fastest way to get a bit extra money is by breaking the checkpoints, since those go down quickly with a slash and two pogos, and they tend to give a lot of money. Though we'd want to be careful, just do it on, like, Pridemoor, since it's easy.

Solid stage too, Jaguar, I like it. I don't quite approve of getting the axe, but we'll see what happens with that later. I love your use of the flare wand in that stage too, it's really good.

Grnbn, I don't think you can, but if so that'd save a lot of time over doing the sequences, we shouldn't need the money.

@jaguar  I'm not sure whats faster for that first purple knight in the tight hallway , eating the dmg and running through, or downthrust spamming, might wanna try both and see waht works better, downthrusting is a pretty solid way to get rid of him though

@grnbn  you can skip the bit where he's sleeping , but i dont believe you can skip the actual bonus sequence where you have to catch shield knight right?

Likes SoM far too much
@Copilot the axe could potentially be very useful on enchantress stage 1 b/c she goes beneath you
I like the axe for flying bosses - I find it helps on Propeller Knight when he summons his boat. I also used it while wielding the magic armor, which gave me more mana than I'd actually have in a real run.
I just tried skipping the bonus section after the plains and it immediately skipped to waking up, so it looks like they can be skipped.

@pikapals that's because there's no enemies in the first one I think

Yes
There are dream/campfire sequences that you get after completing a stage like the plains or an individual knight's stage.  These can be skipped.  There are three dream "fight sequences" that cannot be skipped.

1.  After beating King and Specter Knight
2.  After beating Treasure, Mole, and Plague Knight
3.  After beating Tinker, Propeller, and Polar Knight

I agree Luigi, but in a perfect world we should be killing her before it comes to that. Besides that, we could actually pogo on her while she underneath because yolo strats.
Opinions on the money levels in the game in terms of a run? Should they be taken or do you think we'll be fine without them?
Ruling the cosmos!
We get more than enough without them, and there are quicker ways of getting extra money, notably breaking checkpoints

What happens if you dont catch Shield Knight anyway?
And I guess not being able to skip the fight sequences gives you a bunch of extra money too, so thats not too bad.
@Trineas

The dream sequences ends as normal - you will most likely want to catch her ASAP as she slows down the whole sequence until she hits the ground.

Right, I just thought it might have some consequences, if you fail a certain amount of those sequences.

I guess catching her as soon as possible, or farming the mobs while you have the chance instead of having to pick up some extra money later, is something that could be worth it if there happen to be money problems at some point in the run.
couple of things about phase amulet (not sure how much it get used in the run, probably not much) it prevents you from falling for about 1 full second (which i found useful during my first run through of the whale -.-' them anchors though) it also completely cancels your jump animation and you fall straight down after it's done casting. not sure if that's useful anywhere but it might be
Ruling the cosmos!
That's three counts of that Phase Locket trick being mentioned. Thank you though.

Also, I think when Shield Knight falls down in the dream sequences is based on how many enemies you kill, at least roughly. I noticed that she wasn't falling down for a very long time, but as soon as I smacked one other enemy she came.

Also, big skip. We don't have to deal with the RNG of the guys on the world map. We can just use the catapult in the Armor Outpost.

It could be useful during the outdoor parts of Propeller Knight's stage, because it lets you stay in mid-air while you wait for the wind directions to change.

that's sorta what i was thinking too
Ruling the cosmos!
Interesting idea.
Yes
@Trineas - The dream fight sequence ends when Shield Knight touches the floor or you catch her.  As was mentioned previously there are no adverse consequences to not catching her other than that the sequence takes longer to end (you still get the meal ticket).  It's good to keep an open mind to not ending them as soon as possible since you can get over 1,000 gold from the 2nd and 3rd fight sequences.

I didn't expect 7 pages after such a short time...

One thing I haven't seen mentioned: You want to jump after every standstill. That's because you have instant full-movement-speed in the air, while you have some accelleration on the floor.
does anyone have a time estimate of how long the the run is going to be? (any%, ng+, 100%)

So I'm up to routing at Propellor Knight, and I got really tight on money, and I don't have nearly enough to get the Mobile Gear right now. So I'm thinking that I'm gonna have to pass up on getting one of the magic upgrades, and I'm gonna have to break more checkpoints to get enough money. Because of this, I seriously don't think that the anchor is worth it to get just because we don't have enough money. I'm also questioning the dust knuckles for a similar reason, but I see a lot of use in that item.
Maybe dropping by the minigame lady could be a good way to obtain money.
