SGDQ 2012 Prizes List

Okay, mailed the prizes today so they should arrive around the 15th. Hopefully they all make it in one piece but I will redo anything that has an unfortunate accident.

Have a picture of colored Athena to post later, but I'm busy gathering things for a trip right now.

I was directed to post donation prizes over here for approval so I am. I didn't see any prize love for Cave Story, Ducktales or Illusion of Gaia so I thought I'd do up some perlers for those. I'm still new to the craft though and I don't know if these'll pass muster. Either way I can only hope these pass muster and I can make the deadline!

The prize list is a bit behind on the main schedule page, but the original post in this thread has an up-to-date list. I actually sent out perlers this afternoon for DuckTales (along with Soul Blazer, Castlevania: AoS, Legend of the Mystical Ninja, Spelunker and the StarTropics block), but I think Balrog would be a nice addition to what's already done for Cave Story. And like puwexil said, Shadow would make a sweet prize to go along with Mecha Ricther's flaming Jackal. Smiley

Fun fact: the blue for Scrooge's eyes on my perler are glow-in-the-dark beads. However, looking at the up to date list of donations I kind of wish I'd seen that sooner. I'd have made Launchpad or someone else.

Hmm, I don't know why the schedule on the marathon page isn't updating. If you go directly to the spreadsheet (as linked in the first post) you can see that I have been updating it with the prizes as well.

That said, thank you for wanting to contribute, Celdia! I think your Balrog and Hamlet perlers are great, and I'm adding them to the list. (I like Scrooge too, but as RetroGamerRyan said, there's already a perler of him.) You'll need to PM Essentia for her address.

Also, the deadline is really the date to have them shipped by, generally speaking. I figured with standard shipping from within the US, no package should take more than a week to reach SLC, Utah. However, if you have some prizes that are sent after that date, you can send them with priority shipping (or some other fast method) as long as they'll arrive before the 24th.

Alright then. I don't have any other plans for Scrooge so I'll probably mail him with the others anyways. One of the players for the marathon can have him if you don't add him to the prize pool. I'll have to check my bead stock but if I have enough I'll make a Launchpad to go to the Ducktales prizes. That should be simple enough to get done and ship out with the other stuff in plenty of time to make it there for the marathon. If I do get that made I'll post another picture here.

oops...I completely forgot I made a Balrog perler. :x If you guys still want me to send it anyway, I can. Since mine is a different color, it'd be nice variation. Sorry. Sad

Also, I made a big Toroko perler a little over a year ago and had it planned for last year's AGDQ, but made some smaller perlers instead. Mike Uyama has the perler at his house afaik, so he should be bringing it with him.

Very nice. I ought to get some glow-in-the-dark beads; I've been wanting to do a Grim Reaper from Kid Icarus, and glowing blue would just be awesome.

Apparently the new brentalfloss cd is gonna be a bit. Hopefully it'll arrive before the 23rd so I can bring it to the marathon. If not, well, we'll have to create a placeholder and then have my wife bring it when she comes (assuming it's in before the 28th). If it's not in before she comes to the marathon, well...his printing company sucks then.

I don't think I'll be able to do any more last minute prizes to arrive before deadline, but if a game is sorely, sorely lacking and you trust me, I can make something to send out after the marathon.

Speaking of, how do you want me to handle the Steam copy? Just wait and see who wins, or gift it to someone now to regift later (if that's possible)?

ummeiko: Yes, the way we've handled Steam codes before is that you just hang onto it until the marathon is over. Mike will send you & the prize winner both an email and you'll get their Steam name, etc.

An update on the triforce piece.

The colors that were available last year are not this year, so we're getting an improvised version of translucent amber set on a white piece of glass. It makes it look goldish. Pretty nice. The downside is that it's essentially a once sided piece (since the other side is white). Also, it is the same size as last year's piece, but essentially one piece of the triforce, which will fit, since you spend the game searching for one piece of the triforce.
