Speedrun http://speedrunslive.com
Hey everyone
hope everyone's OK and having a great end of year. I'm bringing this question since this could affect in a possible video i'll submit in the future.
In the RE2 community they have an strict rule, due the game runs slow in some PCs and in weird cases it causes some frame jumps i wonder if this could cause any controversy into the game. I'll put 2 examples: One where the game runs really good and the other is my run
Good video
If you check this video it doesn't have any kind of problems
My video
Checking specifically the fight of the G2 (Train Birkin 43:12) in this video you'll see why i'm talking about about the weird frame jumps that cause the game in some PCs
Now, maybe you're having the question "why this run was accepted on speedrun.com?"
Simple reason, one of the old mods developed a livesplit script that reads the value of the IGT of the game, the IGT of the game runs based in the number of frames played into the game once you see the game starting. Since i was using this script on my livesplit and showing the IGT time that's why it was accepted. There's a new version of the script that captures a precise IGT, better than the one i use (it pauses the split between 1 and 2 secs early)
Hope your opinions everyone and thanks a lot for your answers
