What's a good non-GL engine? Most of the ones I've tried so far (and I've tried alot) either crash at some point in E1M1, run slowly, or are OpenGL-based.
The latest one I've tried is ezQuake, which works perfectly except that it doesn't have any SP features.
I haven't, but I can see in the link that it's a GL engine. The problem stems from the fact that my computer is really outdated and the video card in it was in development already when OpenGL came out, so it has really poor support for it. I can't run hardly anything on this computer if it uses OpenGL.
However, I was posting over at Quake One and got directed to directq (see whut I did there?), which is apparently a direct porting of the original Quake engine to Direct3D, which is exactly what I'm looking for. Just d/led it and I'm gonna give it a try, I'll post here if it doesn't work for some reason.
